((Hi!
Quick question, Is there a defined plotline (I.E., a certain setting) I need to follow or can I just jump in?))

(you can just jump in)
It was early morning on the island of Youssil, the chilly light of dawn just starting to creep over the swaying palms in the distance.
Erin was already awake. She was gathering her things, frenzied with excitement as her heart pounded against her ribs.
Divers had been sending in reports of an underwater city for the last six months, not too far from her current location. She had been selected, along with a small team of three or four others, to go investigate.
The young woman slipped into her wetsuit and, making sure everything she needed was in her waterproof bag, made her way out of her apartment and down to the docks, where a small boat would be waiting for them.

((it's fine
)) She was in her swimsuit and in the boat, waiting for the others. She saw Erin. "hi Erin!"

Erin found the specific dock fairly quickly, having mentally traced the route several times. She hurried down to the boat and checked in for the mission.
The voice of a young girl greeted her as she stepped onto the watercraft. "Hello, Alice." she responded with a slight smile, taking a seat across from her. The girl had been chosen to join the mission at the mere age of 14, which Erin felt was kind of... odd. She must have a brilliant mind, or some sort of skill that made her invaluable.
The young woman looked up; The sun was rising on the other side of the island, but even though the light was faint she could see there wasn't a cloud in the sky. "They picked a fine day for the mission, eh?"

"true.... i guess this is one of the most important discoveries ever, so they had to choose a perfect date......." she sat there.
Erin gave a short laugh. "True. I know I wouldn't feel like going diving on a stormy day! But.. I might've made an exception for this particular mission." she said, the light of adventure twinkling in her eyes.
She played impatiently with the strap of her waterproof bag as she used a foot to feel for the diving gear under her seat; Sure enough, it was there. Heart pounding, she glanced under the seats on the opposite side. She could see three other sets; One for Alice, and two extras.
"So, do you know if anyone else is coming?" The young woman asked casually, trying not to sound impatient. She couldn't wait to be off.

"well, they should be here soon." she checked a piece of paper. "ooooor they both called in sick. that works too, i guess." she put the paper away. "now we just wait for the sailor to bring us to the right spot to dive." "and there he is." she pointed to a man coming over to the boat.
"Both of them?" Erin echoed. "That's odd."
She gave a small shrug and turned to see the sailor; a short, stout older man, his eyes a vibrant sea green, pools of wisdom that came with the experience of navigating the sea all your life.
Erin jumped to her feet and held her hand out to shake his. "Hello sir, I'm Erin Zenyir." She said.
He said nothing, merely smiled and nodded.
"You are here to take us to explore the underwater city, correct? She asked, a little louder. He nodded again and pulled the keys out of his pocket, heading toward the steering wheel and cranking up the boat.
"Put on the scuba gear." he said finally, in an accent she didn't recognize. "We be there soon."

((hey! this character is a little unfinished... but would you mind if I jumped in?))
((not at all!))
she was already in her gear. "well, now we wait..."
