Alma Scarrow (played anonymously) Topic Starter

(Sorry for such a late reply. Been a little busy too for different reasons, obviously.)

Tilting her head, wishing he'd given her enough time to cast the spell, Alma stretched one last time before jumping into the fray.

Sensing not with her eyes, at least not the physical ones you could see, Alma felt the quick fluid motion of a creature next to her way before she saw it. Turning around, her unarmed hand reached towards it, the light from her hand grasping it as if they were extensions of her arm. The creature screeched, it's appearance shocking Alma long enough for another of it's brethren to knock her from her feet.

It was terrifying: the sickly blue wrinkles of the corpse seemed to snag and rip on the tendrils of light. Undead grey eyes stared back at hers while a slash of dark blue and yellowed teeth formed a gaping maw which screeched in agony. From the sides of it's neck unnaturally formed gills pulsed as if longing for the water's edge. Shreds of skin stretched from either sides of it's cheeks in what looked to be in imitation of a fish. Crimson claws reached for her, for the tan of her flesh.

With a screech she barely recognized as her own, she released the being and watched as it skittered back into the water nearby, droplets of what she could only assume to be it's blood scattering as it fled. In the meanwhile, it's partner, took the opportunity to pounce, dark claws extended. Rolling to the side, she held the broken sword out, a ghost dagger plunging into it's stomach before disintegrating. Triumph flickered through her chest briefly as warm whitish guts fell onto the ground beneath it, a hollow sound coming from it's mouth. Despite this, she wasn't anywhere close to being out of danger she realized, managing to get back to her feet and hold out her unarmed hand, covered in sharp lights.

However, the thought excited her more than anything she'd ever felt. Even the slight fatigue from casting such spells so quickly couldn't stop this high. Laughter bubbled in her throat, as she spoke once again in the strange tongue, ready for another. Twisting in a tight circle, her eyes trained on a drowner mid-jump, leaping towards her.

(Oh hey~ I’m assuming they’ll just jump in when they want, if you want to continue. It’s just been a while and I kind of want to continue. It’s been fun.)
Pint (played anonymously)

Kk, pretty busy ATM but I'll get to it soon)
Aribald (played by KingCoriander)

(Really sorry folks- had to do overtime a couple days and then started a second job on weekends. Should be back though!)

Aribald had to stop himself from staring at Alma.

A... witch? Sorceress? Melitele above! She's magic! This... this changes things. Between her and the dwarf... maybe we won't all die?

Aribald clutched the tomahawk tightly, watching her work. The dwarf was making serious headway, too, in his own brutal way, he noted, smiling and circling slowly around the fringes of the fight.

The stench - Melitele have mercy! They smelled so foul, so rotten. He steeled himself, tightening his grip, until he noticed one a few paces away from the remaining drowners, heading towards Alma with its ungainly gait.

He took aim at the soft spot behind the knees, stepping forward and hacking away. He heard the contact with a sickening crunch, shattering the frail, wet knee.

Aribald was silent as he worked, no war cry like the stout dwarf, no marveling at his handiwork. He hacked the knee again, and turned the tomahawk to the back of the drowner's head, driving blow after blow into it, before deciding he'd best back away before the others drew too near.

He looked towards the dwarf, gestured to the Tomahawk, and nodded gravely, trying to convey his appreciation.
Pint (played anonymously)

Laughter from his companions was a good sign for the dwarf. Though he was keeping his eyes focused on the fight, he knew they couldn't possibly be getting slaughtered if they were laughing. Alma at least as it were the case, and hearing no sound come from Aribald, the dwarf briefly looked over his shoulder to check on the lad, just in time to catch his nod. Good, good, they were doing fine so far!

Pint withdrew the spear portion of his Urgrosh from the downed Drowner via stepping on its face and smashing the monster's skull open, putting 200+ pounds of dwarven pressure on its noggin. Teeth and brain matter exploded sideways like a balloon full of gore-- and yet the dwarf wasn't done yet.

"Donna play with these basterds! Kill 'em!!" Pint wasn't here to score points with the crowd like some kind of gladiator arena, he was here to kill things. Noticing that one Drowner was focusing on Alma, he dove at it and sliced at him the axe portion of his Urgrosh. The vorpal enchantment in the axe head got to work and off went the Drowner's head, flying back into the forest and down a rabbit's hole.

"One two, one two!" Sang the dwarf as he followed up his axe swing with a spear thrust, jabbing at a Drowner's foot before shoving the axe blade in its stomach. "Through and through!" This was followed with a flurry of spear thrusts that left the Drowner riddled with holes.

"Snicker snack! SNICKER SNACK!!" Gaining momentum from his kills, the dwarf pressed on slaughtering everything that got in his way. At this point he was like a blender, each step he took sent bloodied pieces of Drowner flying everywhere. Soon it became a rain of limbs, legs, arms, heads and intestines spraying everywhere. At the very least he didn't seem to mind the smell.. because his true nature had come to light; he was clearly insane. "AHAHAHA! SNICKERSNACK!" He continued to yell/sing not planning to stop until every single Drowner was slaughtered.

(Sorry for the late reply. It's been a weird last few days.)

An encouraging smile flashed across her features despite her slight disappointment at losing her chance to practice her craft. But with a whirl of the weapon around her fingers, she was spinning to face another of the creatures. This time she felt prepared for what she was about to face. The earlier scare seemed to have been forgotten as she strode to meet another of the screeching monsters.

Around her, everything seemed to be moving in slow motion. Tugs of energy could be felt around her with each movement of the creatures and her companions. Even her own movements felt slightly slowed, her mind racing with anticipation. Her heart beat wildly; she imagined that she could feel the movement of blood and chemicals in her veins. Her eyes moved constantly as she studied the form of the incoming assailant.

Pulling her arm in front of her like a shield, the force of her lights pushed the creature back till it was pinned onto the ground. All the while, she never broke her pace her sword arm hacking away at the occasional grasping claws of the others. Reaching the drowner she had pushed pack, she paused for a moment, taking in it's shrieking and angered gestures. As she slid the blade against it's throat before sidestepping another attack she wondered if they felt pain. Somehow, it didn't seem to matter as she strangled another one with her lights, and watched as she slid the broken part of the blade into another's eye.
