It was morning in bloodspike... 06:45 to be exact when in a calm suburban neighborhood someone's alarm clock went off. It was in the house of Jessie Red, telling her to get out of bed for another day of police work. It's been roughly 3000 years after that faithfull day in Bloodspike where Jessie met Blaze, the day she met the immortals, the day she married sylvia and the day they all died on their fatal yet legendary mission that all of dracholm remembers painfully, some more than others. It was still dark outside, the entire city was lit up by these purple, blue and yellow hues with the sun slowly starting to rise in the far distance. It was the usual morning routine for Jessie: Check her bed for any women she may have brought home, shower, get dressed, eat and get to work. It's been 3000 years since Jessie's wife was confirmed dead while on mission, a mission that has shaped Dracholm into the well being continent it was today, but it just wasnt the same without her, especially taking care of Vicyeth and her sisters was a challenge when the only reason she was alive was a drug made of her species, something Sylvia detested so many years ago...

By the time she got outside the morning sun had turned the cool, dark blue sky into a more light blue version with sleepy red and yellow tones right below it. Not a cloud in the sky, it looked to become a warm day today, judging by the sky. The radio said nothing really of interest except at one point the reporter on scene reported a grand grave robbery.

"Yes, this is erik fogel here reporting live from Lionslair royal graveyard in Linnesse. Reportedly last night the graveyard has been broken into, graves were opened and corpses were stolen! Not just any corpses, those of historical figures Tower Charlot, Blaze Crimson, Viktor Ursan, Spectre, Sylvia Sunshard and Klaut goldmantle. A very peculiar case indeed, i am here with the local authorities who has agreed to answer some questions for me. Well first off, the question that is on alot of our minds, is this just a regular grave robbery?"

"No, not at all. Normally in grave robberies the graves are thrown open and belongings of the corpse are taken. In this case, the entire corpses were stolen alongside the belongings."

"So it isnt just for the money."

"That i think it is, i expect we will recieve a ransom note soon for the remains of the immortals."

"Another question: They died 3000 years ago, how is there anything really left to steal?"

"They all died through magical means, that means that their bodies have decayed much slower. They are most likely skeletons now still but they wont have turned to dust by now."

"Did they have anothing on them that was worth stealing?"

"Most of it will not have been able to stand through the test of time but they were wearing some jewelry when they died, i assume we will have to take that back by force, this is not just a regular graverobbery but an insult to their legacy and i will do anything in my power to get them back..."

"Well John, thank you for your time. This has been Erik Fogel from Linnesse, keeping you updated."

After that report Jessie would get a call from her commisioner, a man who picked her up after another rougher patch in her life and put her to work fairly as a police officer. "Jessie, wont you forget that Oscar is waiting for you at the docks to disrupt that deal? Over." He was reminding Jessie that there was a drug trade in a warehouse at the docks. It wasnt too far away from her home anyway, just a 15 minute drive. At the house Oscar, Jessie's partner would be waiting in his usual heavy armor gear. Oscar was a zombie, wich was a minority group in Dracholm and for how wellfaring the continent was, the undead were at the ass of the economy. They were treated as lesser because they were created by the living and often survived on small farms in the wastelands of Gloomshade. The constant raids from bandits and the disregard from other races towards them made them very strong and capable. Oscar, much like Jessie was picked up by the commisioner to earn a fair living.

As soon as Jessie arrived Oscar would give a briefing on what was about to go on. There were armored limousines around the corner with no one in them, indicating that it wasnt just an average drug trade...
The morning was rough. Then again, every morning was rough in Jessie's life. Her breath smelled of alcohol and cigarettes, her bones ached and groaned, whilst her head pounded like the heavy beats of drums. The beeping of her alarm only served to tell her she was still alive, and hadn't died the night before from too much drinking or walking into the wrong alleyway. Although, she wasn't easily to kill, and a lot of the time she hated that. Over the past three millennium her life had been filled with mostly hardships and rough patches. Everything from loosing her wife, her best friend, and her less than gentle fall from grace. It took a toll on the woman. A heavy, heavy toll.

Although, she had her moments, and the occasional shines of light. One of those being Vicyeth and her sisters. For as annoying as Jessie first found them, she had came to care for them, and with them being one of the few things that tethered her to her old life, she swore to keep them safe.

The morning dragged itself on, painfully slow, and painfully quiet. Everyone was still asleep, and thankfully where able to stay at home by themselves. Vicyeth and her sisters were not the most intelligent of creatures, but in this day and age, they had learnt to look after themselves, thankfully. Jessie had got out of her bed, nearly knocking off a half empty bottle of whiskey from her bedside table. She showered, changed, past her old kama's which hung up on the wall, grabbed her gun and made her way out the house. Silently.

As she stepped out of the house, the air was cold, and refreshing. It sent a chill down her spine, as hot steam raised from her breath. Lowering herself into her car, and kicking on the engine and headlights, she kicked off. Another day another dollar.

With the radio talking on about a recent grave robbery, Jessie was quick to turn the volume up. Upon hearing the robbery was of the immortals, Jessie's teeth gritted, as her hands gripped on the steering-wheel, her knuckles tuning pale. The news of her late wife's grave being soiled was deeply upsetting, as one may of thought. It was just her own luck, the faithful wife of Sylvia, a person who faded into mystery and was forgotten as soon as she was out of the spotlight, never to be told about such an act. A vein in her head throbbed in frustration, as she screwed her eyes shut. It wasn't fair, Jessie thought. None of this was fair. If she had just gone on that damned mission, maybe she could of still been here today with her. Or maybe they'd be resting easy together.

Although before old memories could harm Jessie any more, the sounds of hooting, and bright lights came into her vision. Jessie swivelled her car out of the way, from the incoming collision, running back onto the correct lane. Her heart throbbed, as she sat there, eyes wide, and heart pounding.

Her phone began to ring, as she came up to a stop light. With a sigh, Jessie opened her phone answering the call. A familiar voice came through. A man's voice, the man who had got her this job in the first place. As her commissioner spoke, Jessie flipped out a packet of cigarettes, pulling one out and lighting it with the snap of her fingers, just to calm the nerves. "Yeah, I got it Ted. On my way there now... Over." Jessie spoke, once blowing a large puff of smoke out her window. Closing her phone, she chucked it onto the seat next to her.

Five minutes later, Jessie found herself, pulling up a distance away from the docks. The smell of sea water was fresh in the air. Getting out of her car, she made the rest of the distance walking, just to not raise eyebrows from all corners. From the perspective of Oscar, he'd see the figure of Jessie walking up. Smoke raising from her lips as the small glint of red glowed from the bud of her cig. The orange and purple sky behind her giving off a warm glow as she approached.

blade-runner.jpg

Walking up to the heavily armoured undead, Jessie, threw her cigarette onto the ground stomping it out., as she shoved her hands into her pocket, leaning up against the wall, listening to his briefing. "So, just around this corner, we got several men armed to the teeth, and they send in a zombie man, and an alcoholic demon." Jessie said with a frustrated sigh, loading her revolver in with a full chamber of bullets. Closing the chamber, she aimed up the gun, before giving Oscar a nod. "You know to stay quiet. I'll peak my head around the corner, if we can't get anything, we move in." Jessie said in a hushed tone, holding her gun out, as she poked her head around the corner, in an attempt to get a better look.

Just what were they doing here, and with so much security...

Inside the warehouse there were numerous neon modified sportsvehicles using their headlights to light up the deal going on. The whole ordeal had strange written all over it, first off the drugs werent being exchanged for money but for what apeared to be some sort of technoloical devices, secondly the people carrying the drugs were not the usual gang or crime syndicate but a group of scientists as evident by their labcoats and the other side of the trade, clearly a crime syndicate was holding on to the technological pieces. It was safe to assume that the technological devices were stolen by the criminal syndicate during some heist while the scientists clearly produced the drugs in their own lab. It looked like tyme too, meaning that water elves died at their hands.

The scientists were actually armed better than the criminal syndicate that was present. The syndicate used regular assault rifles and submachine guns while the scientists used expiremental self made weaponry probaply capable of scorching right through them, yet the syndicate acted as if they had the upper hand with them being rude, agressive and using coarse language. After som discussion though the deal was settled and the two parties exchanged briefcases and sealed the deal with a handshake, but there was something off about the leader of the scientists.

what-is-synthwave-music.jpg
From the very beginning she was oddly calm, it could lead Jessie to assume she just had steel nerves but there was something unsettling about her when the syndicate representative barked at her in her face and she barely even flinched. She was a cold, calculating person. Her silence screamed louder and more threatening than any cannon ever could... When the deal was finished she had her goons rummage through the goods to check, much to the dismay of the syndicate representative. "What?! You really think ill double cross you?! For a scientist you clearly arent very smart, girl! These come straight from a Cykx laboratory in Bylyn!" In response she merely adjusted her glasses and in a swift move shot him over her shoulder with some sort of energy pistol. In response to their boss being gunned down the syndicate members raised their weapons but before they could even pull the trigger each one of them was gunned down by her underlings.

The shooting was over in less than a second, the head scientist walked over to the syndicate representative who by miracle was still alive. "They are good, but i'd rather not leave any witnesses... My employer doesnt want me to associate with streetrats." And as if to prove that she was a psychopath she stood up and shot him in the neck to finish him off right after insulting him and his employers.

She wiped the gore off of her suit and turned to her underlings who were loading the drugs back into their cars while the head scientist took some of the technology and stuffed it into a side bag. "In case the police chases us back to the lab." She explained to her underlings once questioned. She helped loading the materials into the car before turning her attention to Oscar, who was tired of waiting and has attempted to sneak in, knocking over a can on his way in.

Magic_Sword.jpg
The underlings of the scientist woman activated night goggles under their hoods, as if childishly trying to scare the person they were looking for but it was certainly effective... "There is no hiding! Come out!" The scientist woman yelled into the darkness of the warehouse while Oscar, for a not particulary bright zombie did a good job hiding himself.

The problem still was that now the scientists were mobilizing to find whatever was spying on them that Jessie was in danger. A yellow hue lit up the ground, indicating that one of them was heading to Jessie's location. "Come out! I just want to talk!" He yelled in a mocking tone.
Back pressed up against the wall, Jessie's crimson eyes watched the exchange like a hawk. The scientists giving her an unnerving chill at just how they acted. From her time in the police force, she knew how these people acted, and these scientists weren't your basic criminal scum. No, they were cooled headed and quiet, and that scared Jessie more than anything.

The sent of Tyme hit her nose as she watched everything go down. Jessie wasn't generally a caring person. Sure she cared about her friends and family, and she never discriminated against any other race, yet if people where to die out of her control she wasn't generally one to have remorse or care. However, elves had a soft spot in her heart for obvious reasons, and the death of them just for some drug, hurt in many vulnerable places that she'd rather keep hidden. Her frown arched and her hand gripped her gun tighter, as she shuffled another step forward just wanting to gain another look.

Moments later the first shot was fired. Jessie just watched with a blank face. She expected it from the beginning, and in all honesty, Jessie would of just done the same. Yet it was the execution which followed, that left her heart beating loudly and her face cold with disgust and fear. Jessie had taken the lives of many in her time, get she had never had so little care, and so much blood lust to commit such a brutal execution. Well she did, but those where memories best kept away.

With her mind so focused on the criminals that loaded up their gains after such a bloody execution, she didn't even notice Oscar sneaking his way up. As soon as she caught glimpse of him, she held her breath. That fear of hers break, quickly being replaced with a sense of annoyance and anger. Of course the zombie would be dumb enough to walk his way in there, he was brain dead anyway.

Cursing under her breath, she watched her partner in law, her teeth gritted as she saw him approach the discarded can. Time seemingly slowed in her eyes as his foot connected with just the edge of it, knocking it over. The seconds ticked by painfully slow, as she watched this can clatter and jingle across the ground. The heads of the scientists suddenly snapped her direction, as she ducked away, holding her gun close to her head, her eyes closed as she held her breath. Hearing the voices of the scientists wasn't any comfort either. They knew the both of them where there. Slowly, she reached down for her pocket, perhaps she could call Ted for backup, they where way in over their heads in this situation.

Sweat ran down her forehead as the morning became warmer and warmer, as she felt her pocket. Empty... The memory hitting her like a train. She chucked her phone on the other seat in her car and had never picked it up. Growling, she rolled her eyes in frustration.

She couldn't leave Oscar to just die... Again... No, she'd have to reply on about three thousand years of battle sense to get through this. Which sounded like a lot, but in her world almost everyone had that experience. Gritting her teeth and sighing in frustration, Jessie growled. At lightening speed, she turned the corner, not wasting any time with a witty comment or remark, instead she just sent two bullets flying into the closest scientist, before diving to the ground next to Oscar, getting behind cover. "Good going braindead." Jessie growled, as within her free hand a spark suddenly grew into a ball of wild fire. Getting up onto her knees, she lifted up out of cover chucking the ball of flames, not towards the scientists, but towards the unloaded goods before ducking back down under cover. "Well! Get in there!" Jessie barked jutting her head, in reference to the gang of evil scientists trying to murder them.

One boon of having Oscar as a partner was that he well made up for his below average intelligence with brawn, armor and the giant assault rifle he always carried around. As soon as their cover was blown Oscar went in guns blazing and the scientists were caught off guard by the agressive counter reaction, much to the head scientist's dismay who gave them orders in her eerily calm and delirious tone, it almost felt as if she was talking to herself instead of her underlings who did obey well. "Nothing wrong with an occasional direct aproach..." Oscar said quickly seizing all the attention for himself. With him being a moderately big target with decent acuracy to boot he allowed Jessie to be a little more sneaky with her assault.

Oscar wore crude yet efficient angled armor specifically designed to bounce bullets off of it wich allowed him to absorb alot of bullet damage, but after injuring plenty of these scientists to arrest them later as well as calling them things like nerds, dorks etc the head scientist decided she had seen quite enough of Oscar and drew her energy pistol again, shooting at Oscar.

The ray hit Oscar in his arm, instantly severing it. Now with the lifeless arm hitting the floor and Oscar only having one left he tried to empty the assault rifle's magazine by firing it with the best acuracy he could manage with one arm before retreating back into cover to change to a pistol. The whole predicament looked a lot more serious from afar with Oscar's arm hitting the ground but really he could fix it in five minutes after the shootout. One thing Oscar did do before jumping back into the fight with his pistol was call reinforcements. Unlike Jessie Oscar always had his pager closeby, allowing him to be at the ready 24/7 and to have uninterupted contact with the office. The head scientist was obviously in a white hot rage despite barely changing her facial expression. She was far more skilled than her underlings who were mostly distracted by Oscar, a buffoon who couldnt hurt her even if he tried she thought. Instead she waited for a good opportunity to fire her energy pistol at Jessie, something she did well as she missed it by less than an inch, burning half of her cigarette away and letting her feel the heat of the energy ray.

After a few minutes the pollice reinforcements arrived, including Ted who like any commisioner would wait at the cars as his officers surrounded the area while others were already storming in. Once they arrived the fight was quickly taking a bad turn for the scientists because a technological upper hand only gets one so far, the police outnumbered them while also being explicitly trained for combat. But as if to taunt the police the scientists that were injured just warped away, almost like they were using a teleporter while the non injure ones did the same after taking as much loot as they could. There was still plenty of loot left that the police were collecting and putting in one bag as evidence, both plentifull vials of tyme and pieces of the strange cykx/dwarven technology.

"Huh... No money for drugs? Only these weird gizmos..." Oscar said, now standing next to Jessie with his arm still missing. Oscar, much like Blaze or Tower had lit up shapes behind the vizor that acted as his eyes by taking on shapes to reflect his mood. "You know what these are?" He wanted to reach out for one of the gizmos before realizing that the arm he wanted to do so with was still missing. "Oh... Well it cant be far, i lost it around here somewhere..." Before Jessie could reprimand Oscar he was already gone to search for his arm, not able to go after him as Ted now walked into the warehouse.

"I think you did a terrific job today, Jessie... You're not hurt are you?" Ted was accompanied by some higher officials in the police corps, including one woman in a ballistic vest, grey blue uniform and a cap with a golden badge on it. She had long orange hair, yellow eyes and pale skin. She was utterly gorgeous and judging by the pointy ears she could have easily been of the same race as Sylvia... If it werent for the annoyed frown on her face.

"Is zhis zhe one you will give this case to?" She asked Ted in a very thick sun elven accent, confirming that she was in fact the same species as Sylvia.

"Yes, yes she is. She may not look like much to you but if anything she nearly got shot here, you cant go around seizing cases like that." Ted said in a clearly annoyed tone to the sun elf.

"Well well well, if you truly are zheir best zhen zhere is no hope for this city. But try your best huh?" She said with a chuckle, mockingly patting Jessie's shoulder. "Not yet... I hope she is as good as you say because im working on a warrant, commisioner." she said, the last word being dripping with sarcasm as she turned around and walked off, not even looking at Jessie or Oscar who by now has returned with his arm in place on her way out.

"Blasted investigation officers, thinking they're better than us..." Ted grumbled under his breath before turning back to Jessie. "So... That lovely lady was Blance de la croix, investigation officer and very interested in your case. She showed up once Oscar called reinforcement and tried to take this case for herself, it was free real estate if i didnt have an officer on the case already so it's all yours seeing how you met the perpetrators. You got my full backing on this but please do your best... You heard her, she's going to work on a warrant and i'd hate losing a case to some stuck up overpayed investigation office type..."
With the fire fight breaking out, Jessie bit down on her cigarette hard as an explosion of gun fire and screams came from behind her. Along with Oscar's assault, Jessie sneaked out behind him, ducking behind cover and crates, eventually making her way behind the trucks, picking off any unsuspecting goons by surprise. Popping out of cover, she gritted her teeth, firing a burst of four bullets, seconds later two men came clattering to the ground holding their legs in pain. With a satisfied grin she ducked behind cover once more.

Taking the time in cover, she unloaded her gun, thumbing in more bullets. However, with only being able to get three bullets in, having the fourth clatter to the ground, as she heard a heavy thud, she forced herself out of cover, to notice Oscar, now standing there with one arm. She rolled her eyes in annoyance, aiming up a shot for the head scientist. With her eyes just latching onto the girl, she staggered back, her cigarette now eviscerated into nothing but a small bud which she spat out, annoyed.

Jessie was quick to get the hint, backing behind cover, continuing her assault on the blasted forces. With police soon arriving, Jessie became a bit more reckless, ducking in and out of cover as she had more men backing her. With the majority of the scientists soon becoming injured, Jessie jumped out from behind one of the crates, sprinting straight into the heart of battle. She ran up straight towards the head scientist as soon as she saw the injured being teleported out of existence. From her hip, she pulled out a rather ornate blade, which just screamed Sun elf culture. One of the very last things she had of Sylvia, and something which had saved her skin more than once. Swiping with all her might, she barely missed the woman as she vanished from Jessie's eyes.

Growling, Jessie sheathed the knife, as she stood around with the police force collecting evidence, and the sun finally beginning to rise in the distance. "No Oscar, I got no bloody clue what they are... But, I've been around long enough to know whatever it is, it ain't good..." Jessie replied as she crouched down, exterminating one of the pieces of technology. Jessie, along with the others in the force, began to pick up pieces of evidence. A few people would walk up to Jessie asking her how they even survived or just trying to start a conversation, all of which Jessie dismissed with a hand. Walking up to one of the stashes, Jessie found a metal suit case, opening it up to find a large quantity of coke, all filled up in small packs.

Jessie's head throbbed as she stood there fixed to the substances. She bit the bottom of her lip as her head quickly swiped from side to side, making sure no one was looking, as she quickly stole a packing shoving it in her pocket. One hit wouldn't hurt.

Turning back, she called for an offer to take the suitcase away as evidence. Moments later Ted arrived, with an elvish woman, Jessie thought. The ears were always a dead give away. Sighing deeply, she made her way over, pulling out another cigarette. "Nah, didn't get hit, although that fight did make me sober, so time to get drunk again..." Jessie grinned as she clicked her fingers creating a small flame as she lit her cigarette. Her eyes now wondering over the Elf. Jessie could help but look at her. Giving small wink to the Elf, she looked over to Ted. "Who's the cute redhead?" Jessie asked jutting her head towards the Elvish woman.

Yet it seemed the woman needed no introduction, as she just began to act like she owned the place. Jessie narrowed her eyes at the woman. Yet something did intrigue her. She knew that accent, instantly finding it to be a Sun Elf accent. Jessie didn't seem to see a lot of them any more, so it was a bit of a surprise. As she began to walk away, Jessie looked back at the sun elf, taking her cigarette out of her mouth. "Oi, redhead, I'm better than he says I am, and if you don't believe me, test my metal sometime!" Jessie called back to her, before turning to face Ted. "Case stealin' elves huh? Haven't heard that one before." Jessie said blowing out a puff of smoke, as she rubbed her temples. "I'll do my best, but I don't promise to act any different, if I do something, it's on my hands."

Jessie turned away from Ted looking over the crime scene. "I have a really bad feeling about these guys Ted, they ain't your normal criminal scum. They just executed an entire syndicate on the spot, and that leader they had... I don't know, she just rubbed me up the wrong way." Jessie mentioned flicking a few embers off her cigarette. "Keep an eye out for any scientists doing sketchy things for me will ya?" Jessie asked, as she reloaded her gun.

It was still somewhat dark outside, streetlights were going off and the broken advertising neon lights on the side of buildings that were casting small sparks of electricity were being shut down. Oscar casually followed Jessie outside, seemingly doing something on his cellphone. The rude investigation officer was still around too and coincidentally she was also on her phone but she wasnt so quiet, instead she was angrily yelling into her phone, telling that she wanted this case for herself and not some 'ex-addict streetrat and her amalgamation of undead stupidity'. She stood around for a bit and whatever was this woman's problem it was evident that she was incredibly spoiled and arrogant - something that the public hated all of elvenkind for this, she ignored Jessie's comments as well.

Ted walked out casually, scratching his bald head with his officer cap under his arm. "You dont have time to get drunk if you dont want that to seize our case... I'll keep an eye out for anything related to mad science but ill need to contact other departments for it. Meanwhile you can ask around on the local universety or the local immortals office about teleportation technology. That's military grade technology, no gaggle of cutthroats will have access to that." Ted said scratching his maustache before putting his hat back on and heading to the police cruiser. Oscar was standing on the road heading back into the city next to Jessie's car waving at Jessie to indicate he wanted to say something.

courier.jpg

Suddenly a motorcycle engine could be heard from behind Jessie and the driver nearly hit her and Oscar while driving past them. The cyclist was wearing a helmet but judging by the ballistic vest, body shape and especially the accent on the voice that yelled "Get off the road, imbecils!" It was pretty evident that the cyclist was the investigation officer from earlier. She did look back at Jessie over her shoulder though before changing into a higher gear and speeding off into the city. Oscar yelled some angry words into the distance behind her though before recovering and getting up. After that ordeal Ted's cruiser left as well but at a much slower speed, carefull not to startle his officers.

Oscar was waiting at Jessie's car, holding his phone up to show her something. "So because im undead in the police officer i am legally obligated to wear a visory augmentation as to not violate act 2311 of the undead employment terms. I want over my own footage and got a glimpse of that person's armor and then reverse image searched it as well as submitted a copy of it to the police database. Oddly enough reverse image searching it delivered more interesting results than the police database. According to the database the suit she wore is an SI Rogue armor that the immortals give to their spies but do a cross comparison of an official copy of SI rogue armor to what she wore and you can see the difference." Oscar showed two images on his phone, one was a blank black suit with pouches and a blue holographic mask covering the face with a sharpened right hand glove, it almost looked like what the investigation officer was wearing when she drove off but not quite, the head scientist on Oscar's screenshot wore a more robust suit that had patches of armor and a sharper helmet.

"Either the database is messing up again, the immortals are corrupt or she got her hands on an SI rogue suit and upgraded it. But on the internet i found more interesting things... On conspiracy theory sites. This armor is apparently very similar to an armor supposedly belonging to the watchers agency. You know, that secret society that people blame every mystery on. Regardless, we should have a chat with the immortals and see what they make of this." Oscar showed Jessie the cross comparison of the armor on the head scientist and an illustration of standard issue watchers agency armor and the similarities were remarkably close though it did seem that the head scientist lady tampered with her copy of the armor to upgrade it. Oscar got in the car and put his cellphone on the dashboard with a GPS open to the nearest immortal base...

310ca2b81499f41ae588b39faa26645f--city-painting-kawaii-anime.jpg

By the time they got at the base it was already day, Hayoti was one of the biggest cities in Bloodspike so getting at the base through the morning traffic was agravating at best, luckily immortal bases were akin to military bases so there wasnt much of a crowd surrounding the base, just the usual officers. There was one person though, a Cykx as evident by his big orange eyes and blue crystalized 'skin' in a long trenchcoat with a hat standing in an alleyway on watch, he was back into the darkness though so all that would be visible of him was a silhouette once Oscar and Jessie passed by the alleyway. The Cykx were a race of aliens that crashed onto the planet thousands of years ago and over time became citizens on this planet too but more interesting than that is that most Cykx have an affinity for science and all things connected to brilliance, in fact half of the scientists at the trade raid were Cykx. The one in the alleyway would wait for Jessie to enter the immortal base before heading to her car subtlely.

Inside the base there was a woman behind the desk asking what their bussines was here. Oscar was pretty rude, just throwing the images of the suits in her face and expecting her to co operate.
Hearing the name "Immortals" Jessie's face grimaced. The frown quickly turned into a scolding look. Not many knew of her involvement within the Immortals, and why should they? Jessie was never a big member. If anyone knew of her from her days in the Immortals, they would of probably only known she was the wife of Sylvia, and mainly stuck to grand scale attacks or more of the shadow like missions. She was never really a big part of it, yet she still hated to see what the Immortals had become. In her eyes, they had turned from an undying symbol of peace, to and overgrown military organisation.

Rubbing the bridge of her nose, she nodded to Ted. "Yeah... I'll check out the Immortals..." As she said that, there was a heavy sense of dread behind it. Jessie hadn't been to the Immortals in years, and tried to stay as far away as she could if she could. However with the arise of basic criminal scum getting their hands of advanced tech, it was a necessity to ask them, or at least to try and get their help on the subject.

With Ted walking up to his car, Jessie sighed heavily, hanging her head a bit. Shoving a fist into her coat pocket, she let out another large puff of smoke, as she threw her cigarette on the ground, stomping it out. She began to make her way over to the car, when the sound of a motor raised up behind her. Narrowing her eyes, she stepped to the side, watching as a motorbike zoomed past her, knocking Oscar to the ground. That elf seemed arrogant enough to call them out, as if it was their fault. As the woman looked back at her, Jessie only raised her middle finger, before walking back to her car.

Arriving there, Jessie looked up at Oscar, listening to what he had to say. At first she seemed rather uninterested, but as he spoke on and showed her the pictures Jessie raised an eyebrow. "Watchers huh? Thought they where just in children stories to make bad kids go to sleep." Jessie mentioned rolling her eyes, as she gave the phone back to Oscar. She seemed rather cynical about it, yet in the back of her mind she kept a very bright tab on it. Jessie had been around for too long to just discard something like that. In the world they lived in, it was all too possible to be a thing, and if it was Jessie could only imagine what trouble they might be up too. Jutting her head towards Oscar, she got into the car's driver seat. "Let's get this day over with, I got enough on my plate as it is." Jessie moaned, as she started up her car, making her way back into the city

cyberpunk-little-red-riding-hood-by-nkabuto.jpg

Morning traffic was hell, as Jessie sat there within her car, her eye twitching with just pure frustration as Oscar spent his time flipping through his phone, he'd be introduced to Jessie with road rage, shouting and hooting in some futile attempt to get the traffic to move. It took an hour or so, but eventually they made their way over to the Immortals base. Jessie had pulled up outside of the alleyway, hopping out she showed her badge to whatever guards approached her, and with little hassle she was able to make her way in.

As they wondered down the alleyway, she caught glimpse of the Cykx, he didn't seem to give her any bother, as was probably just doing his own thing, so she didn't pay much mind, yet she did flip the side of her jacket back, revealing her holstered gun as she passed as a bit of a warning to the Cykx, if he was to even attempt anything.

Placing her attention back to the Immortals base, she gritted her teeth a bit as they pushed through the doors. Jessie didn't spend long scanning the area. Pretty plain interior, a few pictures on the wall and a few people walking in and out. Nothing was of any real interest. That was until Oscar started a bit of a scene. Holding her head, Jessie marched up, grabbing the undead's shoulder and pulling him back. With a frown she starred at him for a moment or two, with that icy cold glare of hers. With a sigh she turned back to the woman behind the counter.

"Sorry about him dear, he's a bit brash on the job" Jessie said giving a polite smile as she snatched the phone from Oscar's hands. "Now, I hate to be any trouble for yo, but we are on business sadly." Jessie continued her conversation with the receptionist for a while. Jessie left Oscar to watch, as she causally flirted with the girl, gaining a bit more information than she would of got otherwise. After a few more minuets of laughing and almost casual chatter, Jessie quickly slipped a small piece of paper with a string of numbers on it. Giving one last wink, Jessie turned around walking back to the door with Oscar. As she reached the door, she turned around, making a phone with her hand and raising it to her ear mouthing the words. "Call me!", as she left the building.

"Ok, I got nothin' really, expect another night in bed with someone innocent, all she could let me on about was that they have some teleportation tech in development..." Jessie said with a sigh. "Meaning they either got another supplier in a different area, or they were able to steal a large batch of prototypes... Which I don't think is the ca-" Jessie stopped dead in her tracks. Her eyes darted up to her car as she noticed the Cykx doing something on it. She narrowed her eyes, pulling out her gun and badge.

"OI! YOU! DON'T MOVE!" Jessie shouted out, being sure to get his attention, as she raised her gun and badge. She knew she should of been more suspicious of the Cykx, it was dumb of her not to think that he was up to something. Trench coat, alleyways. It was comically obvious.

The Cykx fiddling with the car was quick to react to Jessie calling out to him but didnt seem to be intimidated by her firearm as he just bolted back into his alleyway. Oscar stood behind her as he watched the Cykx escape back into the alleyway. "You check out what he did to your car, ill go chase him!" Obviously Oscar wasnt ever going to catch up with the Cykx but before Jessie could tell him not to he was already off chasing the alien into the darkess of the alleyway. There didnt seem to be anything wrong with the car. No explosives or anything malicious there to be found. What was more unsettling were the noises coming out of the alleyway. No gunshots or anything but just the noise of a cap coming off of something, like a pen or a marker and then a distinct click, one that Jessie probaply could place: the priming of a syringe... Shortly after the unsettling syringe noises Oscar opened full fire before coming back holding his hand over his neck.

"That gremlin bastard stabbed me in the neck with a syringe!" There was a small amount of blood on Oscar's glove indicating that the Cykx did a sloppy job injecting him but luckily it wasnt a wound that'd kill him, some stitches and he'd be able to walk it off easily. At first glance it looked indeed like Oscar got poisoned because the blood flowing out of the wound was thick, miscolored and all round congealed but in reality that was because he was a zombie. Syringes were an incredibly rare weapon in the streets of Bloodspike because despite the amount of crime here, the tradition of fighting with honor from the old days still stood strong and syringes, poisoning and similar weapons were considered cowardly in bloodspike. The problem was that with Oscar failing to catch the Cykx he would be long gone.

Fortunatly for oscar there was a medical bay in the office of the immortals where the nurses could patch him up. He told Jessie he'd go there for help and would meet Jessie back at the office. He was going to investigate something on his own. By now it was lunch break, the time where Jessie got the moments off to get some food and ponder on her case.

Finding an open food place that had seats free at this time of the day wasnt easy with how busy it was but eventually she would find something. There was something very unsettling about the recent events. For one the fact that Oscar's attacker was Cykx - a race well known for their technological superiority - was a dead giveaway he was part of that gaggle of mad scientists involved in the drug trade. The fact he did something with her car too was even creepier, it could be a near limitless number of bad things that he slapped onto it... There was just one good thing about this ordeal: The teleporting technology of the immortals was too flawed to carry someone away that fast meaning that the name of the immortals - how much they may have changed is not yet tarnished.

It was a warm day, as usual, the neon signs gave the streets an incredibly bright hue when combined with the sunlight. Cars were peacefully driving/hovering past the food place and other than the occasional heavy immortal rig roaring through the city with that smiling imp that was once a symbol ment to mock bandits plastered onto the trucks. For how much Castle Charlot, the descendant of Tower made changes to the small band of heroes at least he wasnt allowing corruption to tarnish the faction he made out of it, but he did make other mistakes with them... The immortals were almost a military state, the band that was once funded by the government outgrew them and was now funneling profits back to the government. In ever country there were young men and women choosing between joining the army of their respective country or the immortals and mainly due to the legacy they had a solid 55% of them went on to join the immortals, resulting in the army of countries being much smaller than they used to...

Another bad result of this was that the police force heavily suffered under the rapid growth of the immortals. Because of their governmental authority almost they were allowed to set up city patrols, indirectly replacing the police force. As a result of this the police force ended up with minority groups such as undead, vampires and former criminals wich in turn resulted in the police getting a bad rep. Indirectly the 'greatness' Castle guided the faction too caused indirect issues to other more traditional groups.

Jessie's break didnt last long either as shortly after finishing her food she got a call from an immortal patrol requesting backup with a heist nearby. To increase co working efficiency the immortals were on the same radio lines as the police force. "All units nearby, please report to the Jundu avenue. Heist going on, shots fired and one soldier down. AO is currently in enemy favor, they apear to wield some form of advanced weaponry. Targets are armed and dangerous." After that distress call the radio lines were buzzing for a bit and of course with the mention of advanced weaponry... It was a long shot but it could be these same scientists. Oscar definetly seemed to think so judging by him calling up Jessie saying that he would meet her there.

cyberpunk-2077-860x280.jpg

As expected at the AO it was a violent shootout between immortal light armor soldiers, police officers and indeed, the scientists with the same outfits as this morning and their laser weaponry. Oscar and the immortal soldiers were taking cover behind cars across the bank that was being robbed. "Good you made it, Jessie!" Oscar shouted, using his massive assault rifle to provide a bridge of cover for team mates between cars when he wasnt shooting.
With the Cykx ducking off into the shadows before Jessie could even get a shot off, she was quick to turn on her heel. With her mouth agape, ready to shout out an order to Oscar, he was off like a speeding car. Frustration built up in her as she growled, pocketing her badge as she ran over to her car. Falling onto her knees she looked throughout the edge of the car, checking underneath it, and everywhere her hands could reach, only to reveal nothing. In a fit of frustration, because things just seemed to take a turn for the worse for her, she slammed the butt of her gun into the car.

Although in the distance, a sound came, it sent a shiver down her spine. It was a sound she was all too familiar with. Jessie was no stranger to syringes, after all ever since she lost Sylvia and new and illegal drugs came into the spotlight, Jessie was a high buyer. She was no stranger to cocaine, heroine, the works. Although her strike of fear was quickly knocked away by the sudden explosion of bullets that came from alleyway. Small flashes of light bursting in and out of existence, as a barrage of bullets were fired.

Not before long Oscar came stumbling out of the alleyway, and Jessie was on her feet and by his side in seconds. Grabbing his head, she titled him to the side starring down into the wound, she was rather forceful, but in this case it was justified. Nearly gagging at the sight at the congealed liquid that slowly ran down Oscar's neck, she let go of him, pulling out a piece of cloth and giving it to the zombie. "Here use this, clean up that wound a bit" Jessie found it weird of course she did. She was born and raised in bloodspike, the complete disconnect of honour was odd to her, sure she was never one to care about honour and such, but she knew it was a basic standpoint that even criminals stood by. It was something that gave her a pretty solid thought that he wasn't from around the area.

With a sigh Jessie sent Oscar off to the medbay, saying she would catch up with him sometime later, and for the love of gods to be safe. With that all said and done, Jessie got back into her car, if not hesitantly. She was rather unsure of what was going on with her car, but with whatever it was, it either would of killed her as soon as she started the engine, or it was tracking her. Neither of which where good options, but at least one didn't end with death. However with her fears calmed, just by the gentle hum of the engine, she set out. It was probably time for food before more chaos happened.

With lunch approaching, Jessie took a quick drive down into the main plaza. Sparking her car off on the side of the street, she stepped out, the afternoon sunlight causing her to squint, as she fumbled to put on her sunglasses. Running her fingers through her hair, Jessie steered away from the main plaza, finding it would be filled with too many people. Instead Jessie made her way down into a small alleyway. Small shops where lined up against the cobblestone road which her feet echoed upon. It appeared rather empty compared to outside on the main streets, only a few people made their way down past her, most paying her no mind whatsoever. Those who did however, were quickly met with a scowl and a flare of her teeth, looking rather viscous. Over the years she had perfected this look, being able to scare away some of the toughest men out there.

Eventually, Jessie came down to a small restaurant situated on the corner of the cobblestone street. A big neon sign hung atop the restaurant, written in deepflame characters. Jessie looked up at the sign, she could read it with decent ease. She had picked up deepflame from Blaze, and learnt a bit more ever since she began to live in Bloodspike once more. Reading the neon sign, it spelt out "White Demon" Lowering her head, she pushed open the door to the restaurant.

A small jingle of a bell rang out as the door opened and closed. The restaurant was small, empty, quiet, quaint. Only a few people sat at tables while a young Gloomshade fiend girl, perhaps early twenties, was busy serving and taking orders. The waitress was petite, perhaps shorter than Jessie, her pale skin almost blending with her pale eyes and white hair. The only features that stood out, had to be the black lipstick she wore. She stood there paying no mind to Jessie as she took a seat at an empty table, as the fiend wrote down on a note pad, with five other orders floating around her, probably held up by magic.

Time passed as the girl eventually came up to Jessie, a pen stuck up behind her ear, as she placed a hand on the table. Jessie looked up from the menu, her face stone cold at first, however she lightened up instantly. Probably for the sake of the girl, however her intentions were never that pure.

Time passed as Jessie ordered food, joked with the waitress, having rather long a pleasant conversations. For a change, Jessie was acting rather polite. Talking to the girl for so long, Jessie even took her away from her actual job, much to the point someone got so frustrated they left the establishment. It was pleasant, and when her food came, nothing changed much, just general conversation. The only problem was the fact that half way through swooning the waitress, she got the call for the shootout. Jessie stood up from her seat quickly, giving a quick apologies in deepflame, along with a small bow, before rushing out of the restaurant.

The waitress, looked on rather confused, and slightly disappointed at the fact Jessie just ran out. Shaking her head she picked up Jessie’s plate to discover a piece of paper with deepflame characters spelling out “If you ever want to talk” Along with a string of numbers underneath it.

Rushing out of the alleyway, shoving past people as she ran for her car, her feet clacked against the cobblestone road, as she fumbled to pull out her keys. Getting out into the blinding sunlight of the main street, she was stopped in her cracks, covering her eyes as she fumbled to open the door of her car. Getting it open, she jumped in slamming the door shut, and speeding off down the road.

It seemed like moments later as Jessie arrived at the scene of the shootout, gunshots ringing out as she approached. Parking her car a fair distance away, she began to charge in pulling out her gun in one had as flames spun around the fingers of her other hand. Running up to the sight of the fight, Jessie didn’t even acknowledge Oscar at first, as she practically slid over the hood of a police car, a huge spray of fire exploded from her fingertips, laying down a wall of fire. With magical fire given as cover, Jessie hopped back over the hood, falling down next to Oscar, breathing heavily. “Back when I was with the original immortals, I use to pull off daredevil tricks like that all the time!” Jessie laughed, as she suddenly gained a small smile on her lips, opening up with a barrage of shots from her revolver.

Both the police officers and the light immortal soldiers were struggling to close the distance between themselves and the bank. It wasnt just an ordinary bank either, it was a national one as evident by the sheer size of the building, not only money was held here but also gold, bank notes, information and much more... The scientists had automated weaponry set up inside the bank that would shred down ordinary troops trying to sneak in and the entrances were held by scientists holding what seemed to be energy based assault weapons. Yellow lines of light were traced through the streets like a laser show, just not powerfull enough to burn through the standard police vehicles. Oscar too stuck to cover and only took a few shots at the bank entrance when their focus was on others. It was tricky to get hits in because it was a matter of who shot first.

During this time Jessie got a most inconvenient call from ted as well. He kept calling her up before quitting and calling oscar instead, who didnt answer as well. At least Jessie could hear him as Oscar had his pager on speakers by default. "Jessie! I got more of these investigation officers here and they really want your case! I dont know how long i can keep them from seizing it but it looks like you're going to have to work late, ill pay overhours if you can get me information on a lead before they can get the warrant to take over the case. Over." Ted's words were audible over the gunfire and Oscar shouting at the enemy. It seemed everything was beginning to take a turn for the worst: The investigation officers were slowly gaining the upperhand and so were the robbers. But then, a horn sounded, evidently that one of a truck combined with the powerfull roaring of heavy truck engines. Immortal reinforcements have arrived, and not the light soldier division this time...

Sci-Fi-Art-Park-Jong-Won-Infiltration-Operation-992x562.jpg

Heavy trucks rolled up between the piles of half molten cars parked on the street that acted as cover and the entrance of the bank. The immortals had arrived, the smiling imp on the side of their trucks acting as an indication that now was the time to close distance and take cover behind the trucks instead. The doors opened at the side of the street where the officers were taking cover and out of them came small battalions of heavily armored soldiers bearing the immortal imp on their shoulders. Knight units went first and used their energy barriers as swat shields to help the advance and in mere seconds the tide has turned and the AO has taken on a new shape, instead of the occasional officer falling down the most common sound now was the radio chatter of the immortal responders and instead of officers probing the area for little gaps that they could sneak into the immortal soldiers were locking the perimeter down as to prevent anyone from escaping, not knowing that the scientists could teleport themselves out of there.

The scientists had a new enemy to worry about, this time someone of their own size that would push back, allowing the officers to tend to the wounded and get a breather before continuing the assault. "Have no fear, the immortals are here..." Oscar muttered with an annoyed tone. Oscar had a strong disdain for the immortals, mostly because zombies recieved little support from them not too many years ago. Perhaps for the very first time instead of charging facefirst into battle he headed for the wounded and got them into ambulances. With the area secure it was easier to look inside the bank and see how much of a mess the scientists made in there, papers everywhere, hostages littering the floor with more dead than alive ones - including children and bags of loot carelessly scattered around as they began to retreat with the same tactic as last time: Grabbing bags and ditching the site, much to the confusion of the soldiers wanting to sign in the scientists.

The confusion was definetly audible in the radio chatter of the soldiers and them looking around, completely flabbergasted. About 5 minutes after they left the soldiers stuffed their weapons back into the holsters and began escorting the hostages out of the bank. There was one immortal soldier in particular that stood out, mostly by the coloration on his armor and the fact that when the soldiers worked to get the civilians to safety he mostly stood around watching. He was the captain of this particular battalion. Suddenly any officer in the area could hear him over the radio. "If this site is connected to police cases, can the officers on the case please report to the captain of duty? Over." After his message a couple of soldiers rounded the lootbags up behind him while other soldiers stood near the bodies to keep people from moving them. Evidently he forgot to turn his radio off as one could hear him say 'they actually shot kids... Disgusting.' under his breath as he glanced to the bodies.

To call it a bloodbath would be inacurate because due to the heat of the laser weapons there would be no actual blood spilled, but it was grisley nonetheless.
Ember Kamura (played by Ember_Wolf)

((Hey,I have taken intrest in your guys RP and I was wondering If I could join?))
(Ay man, I don't mean to be that guy, however this is kind of a private thread! Sorry we should of put that in the title to begin with but yeah.)

Everything was going wrong. Not only were they losing the battle, she had a buzzing in her back pocket, running on ammo, and throwing a ball of fire every two minutes, her body was starting to take strain on her body. With beads of sweat running down her head, she crouched behind the hood of a car, firing off one of her last bullets only to hear Ted’s voice through the speakers of Oscar’s suit.

“Yeah yeah, whatever Ted, kind of in a fire fight right now!” Jessie screamed back over the ensuing chaos, she rolled her eyes not listening at first, finishing off the last of the ammo in her revolver. Ducking back undercover, she opened the latch of here gun, digging through her pocket to find. Nothing. To make matters worse, Ted’s voice pierced through the air, screaming about how her case was so closed to being seized. Her eyes narrowed as she heard she’d have to work longer hours today, as she picked up a piece of scrap metal on the ground. It was already hot, probably because it had been shot off by a laser of sorts, yet in Jessie’s hand it only began to melt.

Screaming out curses in Elven, Deepflame, English and even dwarven, even if that was rather rusty. In her fit she threw the molten liquid metal out of her hand, hitting the arm of a scientist. The burns would be gruesome and the screaming from the man were just as bad. To Ted it would of sounded as if Jessie just murdered ten people at once, exploding into flames. “YEAH ALRIGHT, COOL THAT’S WHATEVER TED! OVER!” Jessie screamed over the chaos, with a few cops, immortals and even scientists just backing up away from her.

By the time the heavily armoured trucks of the immortals rolled up, Jessie was up by the front lines again. Her jacket was gone, as she only wore a bulletproof vest, barking out orders, dragging the wounded out of the line of fire, and picking up dropped weapons only to waist the rest of their bullets. Jessie may not of been a one person army, but by the way she fought, she definitely acted like one, with no fear, and never holding back.

“You know someone should probably tell the immortals that these crazies can teleport!” Jessie shouted into her radio reporting back to Oscar, as she hauled another injured soldier back to the ambulances, as the knight units began to close in. Yet as her words let her mouth, there was a sudden and familiar sound of nothing, the sounds of firing from the other side just ceased to exist, a clear indicator that they were just gone. She gritted her teeth, shoving the soldier she saved a little too much, before storming off towards Oscar, grabbing her jacket off the ground and punching her arms through the sleeves. As she stuffed her revolver into its holster, and sheathing her knife, she huffed next to Oscar, steam visibly rising over her head.

Leaning her back up against the car, she suddenly got the call through her radio asking up for officers. Jessie rolled her eyes as the thought of not going seriously passed her mind. With a growl under her nose, she crossed her arms wandering up to the caller. Coming up from his back, she gave him a bit of a wave, reloading her revolver as she approached.

“Yeah, You looking for me? Let’s get this over and done with quick before I pop a blood vessel, today has been stressful enough with two firefights.” She growled bitterly as she approached the man, not even bothering to make eye contact.

The immortal captain at the scene was a centaur, evident by his lower half. He, like any other centaur completely clad in armor looked massive yet as if to apear less of a threat to the officer on the scene he wasnt wearing his helmet. He didnt notice Jessie at first either, he was looking at his soldiers that were dragging off the butchered civilians and taking care of the wounded with a strong hint of disgust plainly written on his face. When Jessie walked up to him though he turned around and pulled out a small piece of paper on a clipboard. "Right, it will be over soon. I just need you to sign this so that i can confirm and verify that the case was not for us to solve and therefor we had no clearance to bring back evidence. You know, so you dont have to come knocking at one of our bases to get the evidence back."

He wrote his own name on it, obviously an elven name wich was not uncommon for a centaur seeing that they were the protectors of the elves back when Jeslore was war thorn. He pointed to a dotted line below that said 'officer name' before giving her the pen as well. "Just sign there and identify your department and commisioner on the next page and it's all good. We'll be sure to leave the photographic evidence on the desk over there as well." While Jessie filled out the paper he told his soldiers to wrap up the operation and leave the scene for the police. When he took the clipboard back he looked at what Jessie wrote and raised an eyebrow. "Jessie Red...? Is that not the name of the last person to join the immortals before they fell in their campaign to save Jeslore? You're still alive?" The centaur would then proceed to try and chat with Jessie for a short bit until the trucks were loaded up and his battalion was ready to move out. "You can contact me if you ever need a hand, i'd be happy to help one of the last remaining members of the immortals!" He finished before moving out along with his crew. His full name was on the paper so if anything Jessie could contact the faction as a whole to reach out to him.

With the crime scene now legally theirs to explore and the immortals leaving it was time to do detective's work again. The crime scene was a complete mess, the immortals had placed chalk lines to signal were the bodies layed before they were carried off, there were ashes everywhere instead of blood from the high temperature energy weapons being used against officer and hostage alike. Interestingly there were no bank notes in the lootbags of the scientists, no coins or any other form of accepted currency either. Mainly things like gold bars and gems. Valuable for sure but by now it was unlikely that the scientists were in it for just the money, it just seemed foolish to use such advanced technology for something as petty as a bank robbery. Oscar was inside the vault to check on the damages and see if there were any overlooked hostages.

As the centaur said there was a small pile of photographs on the desk of the teller. Most of it was pictures of the crime scene before the immortals cleaned it up and escorted the hostages out of there and it was pretty gruesome. People of all races and ages layed there scorched and maimed. Those that did survive were seriously injured. These scientists had no qualms with stepping on the necks of others to reach their goal, whatever that was. The lootbags also held things from personal bank vaults, mainly pieces of advanced technology that the ascension medical corporation and the immortals have stored here. To anyone not a rocket scientist these things just looked like cool gizmos. Actually these things were common farming equipment for their groundbreaking technology to 'revive' withered plants. It had the company name 'ascension' written on the side with their telltale helix symbol on it.

"Hey Jessie! You should come see this." Oscar's voice rang out from the vault.

Inside the vault it would look like what anyone would expect from a national bank's vault. Safe for the broken pressure door, the bits of metal scattered around and the amount of gold and gems missing. Oscar stood about 6 giant money piles into the room looking upwards except the stack he was standing in front of was completely burned up. There were holes burnt through the other piles of money as well but they somehow didnt catch fire.

"What kind of bank robber sets a 6 on 6 meter stack of 500 crown bills on fire?" Oscar visually thought about it himself. Oscar wasnt a greedy person but he just found it odd that people would go through the effort of robbing a bank only to rob it. "You think these lunatics were just curious if their weapons were incendiary or not?" Oscar may not of been the smartest person in Jeslore but overthinking things was something he was well capable of. "Im just completely flabbergasted, you found anything?"

Eventually the investigation didnt go much further, the bank employees were eager to repair and reopen their bank as well so after a while they had to leave.

Back at Jessie's car a familiar figure was waiting. It was the Cykx from earlier except not fiddling with Jessie's car this time. He was just kind of standing in a nearby alleyway. He would tip his hat at Jessie when they made eye contact before turning into the alleyway, basically challenging her to follow him. Oscar didnt see him though, it was getting evening as well and while the sun wasn near the horizon yet, the streets hue began going from bright white/yellow to a more warm shade of dandelion.

"So, where are we going next?" Oscar asked, completely oblivious to the Cykx lurking around.
Jessie huffed as she was handed the papers. She didn't particularly understand why she had to do them, and was rather frustrated that she could just do her job, however she held no ill will towards the man who gave her the papers. He was probably just as annoyed as her with the whole ordeal. Handing them back, she took out a cigarette, lighting it with a flame from her bare fingers, taking a long puff of it. Only to nearly choke on her own smoke as the man spoke of her name as an Immortal. "YEAH" She shouted out, coughing up a smoke cloud and even a bit of fire. "Yeah that's me!" She said holding her chest as she shook her head, before giving a nod. Not a lot of people knew of her past as an Immortal, not many but Ted. Even though it was all public knowledge, just due to how new Jessie was, there wasn't much on her, but the fact she was the wife of Sylvia.

With the papers soon signed and the man waving her good by, she gave a small wave as he left before looking down at the papers given, brushing her thumb over the man's name. "Mjolkniir" She would keep that in mind for later use. He would surely come in handy. With her eyes looking back up to the bank, she gave out a long sigh, throwing her cig on the ground and stamping it out. Didn't want to get ash over the evidence after all.

Wondering into the crime scene, her hands stuffed into her pockets while she looked over the chalk drawn lines, she hanged her head feeling rather disgusted. She hated the way people fell to their deaths, it always seemed so, undignified. She cocked an eye brow at the fact that currency was spilt all over the floor. These scientists obviously didn't want cash otherwise they would of taken way more care in collecting it. However with the absence of jewellery and gold, it made her a bit suspicious. Criminals trading in materials was not unheard of, it was harder to track them that way.

However with the revival devices disappearing, she suddenly became far more interested. Picking up the gizmo she had no idea to what she was holding, but with a quick briefing from outside sources, her eyebrows shot up with interest. Now what were they, if they where going after valuable materials and revival farming technology. Environmental terrorists? Or was something far more sinister afoot. With the cross-reference from the pictures, of all those bodies scorched and maimed, she definitely didn't outline the fact that something far worse could be right around the corner.

With Oscar's voice ringing out, Jessie moved right around the corner, looking towards the piles and piles of burnt cash. When asked about what they wanted, Jessie just helped up one of the gizmos. "Well... They either are trigger happy wanting to test out their weapons, or their environmental terrorists with a taste for gold and diamonds... Both of which I don't actually think they are..." Jessie huffed, stuffing the gizmo back into her pocket.

With the investigation going no further than that, she and Oscar left, Jessie seeming far more calm, yet way way more quiet, and for as long as Oscar knew Jessie, a quiet one was never good. Best to leave her alone until she was done... "Thinking"...

With the two heading back to the car, Jessie made her way forward, her eyes ever vigilant as she spotted that Cykx. Just standing there? Wait did he just tip his hat? Jessie visibly stopped, as she stood there visibly confused, not breaking out of her stare until Oscar said something, what wasn't really important. "Yeah yeah, Oscar, just go and wait in the car I'll be there in a moment..." Jessie said, patting him on the shoulder as she carefully made her way over to the alleyway. Pulling out her revolver, she loaded in three bullets, before taking a large breath. Readying herself she turned the corner into the alleyway, holding her gun out with one hand as she practically summoned a ball of fire in the other to light up her way.

"You know, I've had a pretty shit day, so **** me over or try and stick a needle in me, and I'm frying your little green ass." She growled under her breath, making her presence very well known, and not a welcoming one at that. She didn't want to be here, and she knew the damn Gremlin wanted her to follow, but she was ready for if that little thing came at her.

It was dark in the alleyway and it was clearly a trap. Jessie could hear the cap coming off of the syringe in front of her as well as the cap hitting the ground, like a plastic bullet casing... And then silence... Not even a footstep... Nothing was heard for at least 5 minutes and with the tension so high every last second of these 5 minutes felt like an hour and in this terrifying silence Jessie could hear a needle drop methaphorically speaking. And then, out of nowhere she could hear the priming of a syringe, not in front of her where she heard the cap come off. A split second after that Jessie would feel a sharp sting in her lower neck before something entered her body, not a fluid but a mechanical devide the size of a housefly. Without speaking and as fast as it apeared the syringe was pulled out of Jessie's neck. The Cykx had succeeded in stabbing her but he was at a major disadvantage here. The alleyway was linear and had no real route of escape, and considering Jessie's lightning fast reflexes he could easily catch a bullet before he had the chance to run off.

Of course, he got shot. The Cykx let out a cry of pain before covering his wounded area with his arm, but then it happened, what has been happening all day. The Cykx just disapeared from sight, but it was different this time... Jessie could still occasionally hear his grunts and unlike the teleporters he didnt have a flashy lightshow before disapearing. Perhaps it was an improved design complete with decoy noises...?

Oscar was waiting by the car with his gun drawn and aimed at the alleyway. He obviously heard gunshots. "You okay? He didnt poison you, did he?" Oscar immediatly asked as he saw Jessie, pulling a medkit off of his belt.

It was getting to be evening soon, the sky was getting darker and in an hour or two the sky would be dark blue/purple with the lighting of bloodspike. From here on out it was time to do the paperwork before going home. Paperwork was something that set the immortals apart from the police as it was something the soldiers never did. Normally Ted would do it for his officers because he didnt like going on patrol and risk getting killed at 52 years of age. But this time Jessie would have to do it, he wanted her to be thorough and she had the knowledge to do this properly with memories form the crime scene. It would be around 20:30 ish when she was finally done and ready to go home, to her kids and a visitor.

At home, as expected the elemorons would be there: Jessie's kids from her marriage back with Sylvia. They would be slumped over like potato sacks in the couch with a bag of chips while the woman from the desk earlier today waited by the door. In theory the sisters could have opened the doors but Sylvia taught them to never open the door for strangers. They didnt have dinner yet either, normally when Jessie returned home they would be ecstatic, jumping all over the plac but with the lack of energy they had today they just cheered from the couch as Jessie came in.

The night went by, the elemorons got dinner and were sent to bed on time because they had to go back to school tomorow and Jessie's date had fun, partially with Jessie but also because the sisters were so good at keeping her busy with their desire to show people what was happening on the TV.

The next morning would be like any other morning. The beeping of the alarm going off as a painfull reminding she was still alive, morning routine and getting to work, except for one difference. Today the sisters had finished the last pieces of bread and cornflakes, leaving little more than some coffee for Jessie. They did let her know before heading to school, the oldest one: Vicyeth has left a note for Jessie in a nearly unreadable handwriting telling her something along the lines of 'we need to go to store, no more breakfast and milke cakes' wich was her way of saying that the cereal was gone. No other choice than to visit a breakfast store then, it came out well as as soon as Jessie wanted to leave the house Oscar called her up, inviting her for breakfast in a local tavern because he wanted to show her something...
