Patient Zero was impossible to locate and it was even harder to figure out who would be immune to the common cold after it was changed. The lab reports didn't show anything wrong in the animals who were tested, but the human trials were months away. Maybe a few years. When the virus was let go, it spread like wildfire, killing 90% of the human population.
When things had begun to die down, that's when more people died. Looting. Straight up murder. People didn't care about people anymore, they only wanted to survive and to survive they needed things. They needed to collect the things they wanted. More people died, leaving only 0.15% of the world's population intact.
They began to collect (in the US anyway) into small communities that were close to other communities. Most put up high gates and didn't let people in and out. Most didn't trade with outsiders. Most just lived in a bubble of securities that made them feel love among their communities. No one wanted to leave.
Well, that wasn't true. Sometimes supplies are scarce in the communities and they need to get things. Supplies to build. Food to eat.
That's where scavengers come in. Like the Rat. The Rat lives in the Trinity Gated Community, but they're not one of them. They leave and come back, bring in things, trade with others. They doesn't create things, only finds things that might be useful. They stockpile them.
What I need in a roleplay is either someone The Rat knows outside of the community or someone who lives in her community.
