Get away from here you patedic rat!" a man shouted as he back handed Codie with such force it sent the poor boy sprawling back and landed him in the murky river way below. he let out a cry as he hit a wooden pole sticking out of the water and a second latter he hit the water unconscious and bleeding. Already the half of his face that had hit the wooden pole was swelling as he sank into the water

I saw someone get knocked into the river. They looked to be unconscious as they hit the water, due to the fact that they hit something on their way down. And now it was covered in blood. Bit of a giveaway. I start running towards the river, that didn't look good, not at all. And whoever the Templars were harassing might be an ally of ours. I would kill them, but that would mean killing the unconscious one as well. Diving into the water, I try to swim down and find him. The murky water isn't helping much. My eyes finally find something, and I grab him around the waist, hoisting him over my shoulder and swimming up.

Codie did not move he was limp but at lest he was still alive, blood continued to come from the deep put on his face and turning the water a bit red around them

With only one arm to swim with, it took me a minute, but I did get to the surface. I swam to the far side of the river, the one with no people. This would prevent too much of a shock from the crowd. Setting him down, I take a few breaths to make up for the ones I had lost. There was a lot of blook coming from his face, and it looked like it had ruined his eye. Once I make sure he's breathing, I'll need to take him to a healer. There's no way I'd be able to treat something of that nature.

Codie was breathing but he was unconscious. He moaned weakly but did not make any movement to wake up or anything. He did seem to be in alot of pain though

He's... Not dead, which for me is an accomplishment. Now if he stays alive, that would be a nice change. Codie moaned weakly as his injury was touched, but for now he still did not wake up. the enture side of his face was scraped up and cut badly, and it was clear from the deep gash next to his eye that he would more than likely lose the sight in that eye

The doctor had done all he could to clean the wound, and was now stitching what could be fixed. "The eye is too damaged to be repaired, but it will scar over..." He said this as he worked, hands smeared with blood. The only problem will likely be infection. A wound like that is at high risk, but he should be able to make it.

"...On a table." I was still soaking wet, and would take awhile to dry off. The doctor had finished stitching what was left and had now begun to wrap pieces of cloth around his face. This would keep the bleeding down and hopefully prevent infection. The people who did this to him were likely gone by now, which was alright. I had two choices - kill everyone or save this person. I'd chosen to let them live.

The doctor nodded and gave it to him. "Make sure and rest for a little bit. Don't want it getting infected before it starts to heal." I had no idea who this person was. If the guards bothered him regularly, then I might have to go and see what all that was about, but if this was a one-time thing then all that was needed is to eliminate a few of them.

Oh, that's not good... I know what not having a home is like. "I have somewhere safe you can stay," I offer, feeling bad for him. Since he now only had one good eye, finding work would be difficult. And the goal of my people is to help all we can; even though it means ending the lives of a few unlucky folk.

"It's alright. I used to be like that too so I understand." Once he was feeling a little bit better, I would take him to the Assassin hideout. My house was on the other side of the city, and would take more than a day to reach. I'm never there anyways. It just consisted of a small shack, nothing more. The hideout wasn't all that far, and we had taken people in like this before.

The doctor just nodded and continued with what he had been doing before we went there. I left some money on the table for him, this particular doctor was rather lenient about payment so he never counted it and didn't mind when people came short. I did wonder who had attacked him, it was probably just a guard who was pissed off about something but you can't really be sure...
