"Really?" Codie said looking at Gabe " so your only after them.. guard people.. there so mean, they neverr let me anywhere near the market even if i had money... most of the time they would take my money thinking i stole it" he sighed

"Not the guards. Not exactly. It's the people leading them. They have no idea what they're a part of, they get their orders and are obligated to follow them. It's their leaders we're after, and we also try to help any victims of those abusive guards." I do agree, the soldiers aren't the nicest people in the world. They are part of the problem, but not enough to go out and kill every single one of them.

"That's why we're here. They always seem to have the upper hand, but that doesn't stop us. It shouldn't stop anyone." The world was not perfect. It was sad, brutal and full of poverty. Slavery. All these horrible things. Maybe one day it can be quelled, maybe not.

"You're welcome." At least he didn't try to kill me, like the last one did. That was very awkward. One minute you're talking to him like he's your friend ad the next he tries to murder you. "Someone has to, otherwise we'd all be slaves. People don't know about any of it, we try to get them to listen but they won't."

I was shocked by his offer. No one volunteered to fight, we always had to ask. "Any help we can get is greatly appreciated. Don't say you can't do much, we have allies right now that are farmers and servants. They're more useful than you might think." Never underestimate yourself. And don't overestimate yourself either... Both have the potential of resulting in disaster.

"but what can i do if i'm.. half blind?" Codie asked him with a sigh.

"You'd be surprised. There is someone in here who was born half blind, maybe you could talk to him. I think he's in a different city right now, but he contributes more than most of us." Even a fully blind person can still do so much. They would need to be trained differently, but nevertheless, no one is useless.

"Good. You'll need to make sure your wound is healed before you do too much though. Wouldn't want to further damage it." If he did then it would cause nothing but problems. I was glad that he wanted to help, I really was. Not many people do things like that.

A few weeks had gone by, Coda's face healed up pretty well. He could no longer use that one eye, but that made little difference. He just couldn't see as much. That's okay. I was trying to teach him a few things, be able to defend himself and not get knocked around again.

"You need to keep working on your fighting, once that's taken care of then we can start on other things." He was catching on quick. I was surprised. Not many did this well. And here he is, being all awesome and stuff.

I led him into a separate room, one that had enough open space in it to work with. "Try dodging the attacks, alright?" He would have to work a little harder because his entire right side is a blind spot and he'll need to learn how to detect it early enough.

I took a swing at him, if I did hit him then it wouldn't be of much harm, all he would really feel is a sharp jab. Not bad.
