So you read it correctly. I was in the United States Navy from February 24, 2020 to March 20, 2020, in the heart of the pandemic.

For some background, I went to boot camp and was sent home on a “other than honorable” discharge because I could not complete the mile and a half run in the time required to pass the initial PT test (16:09). On the day of my discharge, along with other separating recruits, we were given DD-214s which makes us veterans.

Feel free to ask me what I can tell you about my time in boot camp, even if short!

How did covid play a role at boot camp?

To put it quite the way it was, the pandemic started around the beginning of March, and when I left, it had no effect, as COVID-19 had not yet been confirmed or present on base.

But now, the military quarantines upon arrive and graduation of boot camp.
