Luci (played by Minerva)

[ Unusual request! Alright guys, here's the deal. My friends and I have worked on a story for a long, long time and we're wrapping it up in the next few days. The setting is Nexus-based, so any character type is welcome but before I detail that, let's get to the point!

The point is, there's an enormous threat intended to challenge all worlds, and inevitably it has to tear down the nexus point of all of them. Announcements were sent out looking for champions to defend their world(s). We've got our people involved, but I actually want input from people who are outside of it. I mean, why would only me and my friends characters answer the call? That's silly. We want a diverse cast of responses, to infer that really, every type and every creed comes out to fight this threat. I'd invite more people to join the main event, but that'd be silly because the story's almost over, and it'd make it way way more hectic during actual RP.

So here's what I'ma do. I'ma post what the threat acts like, looks like, what it does. Throw in any character, or characters, you feel would rise against it--what they would do, how they would rise against it. Hell, throw in a villain that wants to add to the chaos for all I care! We really would love to feel like hey, this is something anyone would fight for. Put in a single post or multiple. Put it as much or little effort as you want.]

[The Nexus setting we ascribe to is a small continent, with one massive about-modern city covering a huge area in the west, and the east being all natural land; between it are the fields, the in-betweens, the old lands, the castles that pop into play in nexus settings and so on. The place is always shifting due to nexian effects but it at least stabilized itself with this sense of balance.]

[An announcement came with the darkening of all horizons. Anyone who is not willing to stand as champion should head to the following locations; a set of temples in a downtown area was listed, as well as several offices that seemed to be positioned circularly around the better part of the city. If you can not reach these shelters, and do not have your own shelter, it is advised you take to your basement unless flooding begins.

The threat began in all directions. As the multiversal tree of life, and planes, was crept up and afflicted, it headed for canopy and roots; all is mirror in the universes, so one was the same as the other. Regardless, the Nexus could be said to both blossom out of, or be the root of, countless planes. In that, rather than attacking the tree of life as they did in the other worlds they ravaged through, they more infested the world itself. They crept in from the outter edges of the sea as a blackened, howling storm. Men and women, gods and demons, began to fight at the shores that turned red from blood and black from oil. Squid-like men and other abominations began to surface from the shores--odd animals and all kinds of cruel things.

Animals had been released from the zoo, and started battling wicked men who became puppets to their own seeds of anger, who rioted in the streets to cause pandemonium.

The heros fought to sustain the shores, to keep damage from being done. One young paladin in training, fresh in his ways with the lord, had been directed to use the sewer systems to send a blessing through and beneath the city, keeping abysmal creatures from infiltrating it below and bleeding into the sea. With some help, the water on the city side became oddly divine, and melted those things that came by sea.

An announcement came from an old mogul, apologizing for his personal evils whether others knew it or not, and telling those who can not fight to pray for those who fought in their stead; some were old gods, some were men with the hearts of gods. Regardless, each prayer would bear its own weight. Help your warriors.

But there was a sense of futility in the seeming eternity that was the storm; it did not bring just rain, but shrapnel, and hallucinogens, and toxins--it even hailed random animals it had consumed. It had not been sprung on them so swiftly, though; they knew the abomination, fueled by their own hatred and pain, had been coming--at least some had. One figure had erected a hexagram shaped field, depending on the age-old idea of the power of it. It was based off of buildings, and based off of something his wild-father had done in the natural east, too; they staved off the direct storm, but fought the odd creatures trying to clog up the system. The one in the city was unknown.

Warriors changed their tactics. A fall back to any in on the war command line was dictated, and various would-be heros started heading towards the center of the city, still engaging what they could to force it to follow. The storm continued its path. It churned dangerous funnels that ate away and collected the buildings, turning their steel foundations into something like teeth outside of them.

The young paladin found shelter elsewhere, and prayed to the same force many hiding in their homes and shelters did; knowing of the hexagram, he fell on another idea: the power of trapping a spirit or mind in a triangle, the power of three, the trinity and so on. What was a hexagram but an endless overlapping of triangles? Suddenly, the storm inverted and was drawn into the heart of the city. Frustrated, something began to take shape, weaving itself of the blood, bile, steel and shadow that composed the primary elements of the area then, beginning to erect itself as a perverse tree of bodies and souls, mirroring the tree it, itself, had climbed to get to that universe. It began to build towards the heavens, looking to reach divine places and latch into levels of the sky it bore terrible grudge against. Inside the center of the city, the violent, steel storm raged violently.

In the wilds, the creatures that lived there came up with their own ideas, but they were yet to be acted upon.

...This is where we're at right now. What we're looking for is how, at any point in this, various warriors unknown to the players/characters currently involved might make their own stands.

If you have an questions for more details etc, PM me and I'll try to respond quickly.]";
Zaire M'lill (played by DL909)

(man, i admire you! this idea is amazing! i'm writing a book, and i guess i'll just throw Zaire in here. i need some experience with him, and this is a GREAT place to start! count me in!)

Zaire didn't know what they were talking about. "They're choosing one of us to help fight!" Many of the members shook their heads. "of all people you should go," Abril muttered. a voice spoke up next the the boy. "Why him? Can't Gayle go?" Gayle gasped. "oh, i could never!" He dashed under the table. as if someonne were trying to catch him. The Hover door hummed the framliar sound. Someone was here. "Hello, Fora. i am here to choose the warrior who will represent us." The man's voice was gruff, and it felt like needles to Zaire's sensitive ears. "Just hurry up already," Brayan mumbled.

So, the show began. Each member of the Fora tried their best to show what they could do. Akasha sliced trees in half. Gayle hid under a table until the man gave up. Abril slid easily through the traps Zaire had set. But near the end, she fell. ouch. Thea was far too young to compete, so she helped Poppy attack several dummies. Ria went ninja and assasinated large groups of moving targets. The came Zaire. "great," he thought.

"so, what talents have you got, blind boy?" Those simple words. blind boy. Zaire grit his teeth. "a whole lotta bombs." He set three large armies of dummies -with pig meat attached- out on a large feild. Zaire didnt want to win. in fact, he wasnt even trying when he lamely tossed three small PSB at the armies, at the same time. "The man looked at him, unamused. "this is all you can d-" BOOOOOOOOOM.

By the time the dust settled, not a single dummy lay with atleast two boy parts attached. Zaire crossed his arms and smiled slyly.

"You were saying?"
Maru Memora (played by MaruCookie)

(Trying to get picture to work . . . so bear with me till then.)

Maru grumbled to herself as she sat outside of the small shelter she had built for the night. She did however have a small fire that slowly started to die out in front of her. Occasionally, she would prod at it with another stick to get it going again. She didn't dare make it too big, but still had it at the comfortable level.

She didn't really didn't enjoy fire all that much. Maru carved away at the spear head of her stick as she muttered something about fire being a greedy fat pig that ate anything in it's path. As she was doing so, wind sliced through the trees and snuffed out her fire along with collapsing her shelter.

The girl turned towards the opposite direction of the wind, wondering what in the name of Fenrir could cause such a wind to come barreling through her campsite. Standing, she brushed off her clothes, picked up her satchel and stick she had been carving at. Then she sheathed her sword and checked the small knife in her boot before heading off in that direction.

Anyone looking at her could tell she wasn't human. That was because of the unatural way her green eyes began glowing as she walked into the shadow of the trees. Her body knew something was amiss. The air help prove that simple statement. "Whatever this is," she whispered. "It isn't good."

Being away from people kept her knowledge of current happenings short. Gossip wasn't her hobby and neither was listening. Having little to no clue about what was up ahead, she went anyway. Mainly because there wasn't anything keeping her here. So life or death, she would move forward into the unknown simply because she could.

Thankie guys <3

I like the responses. At a later date I'm going to reconfigure the log and make it more readable (it took place in chat and needs better paragraphs). At which point I'll splice in anything afforded either above, or below. I'm low on time right now but on a better day (probably Wednesday) I'll give more details.
GRIMDAD (played by Taco)

[ So obviously GRIMDAD is a comedy character mainly, but I figure he'd be okay for this setting. ]

The champion of the LAND OF GRIMDARK had arrived.

"NOBODY--" Swinging his Bedrock Blade in his right hand, batallions were cleaved.

"--TOUCHES--" A machine gun in his left, suppressing the lesser minions.

"--MY DAUGHTER!!" A punch, powdering skulls.

GRIMDAD stood over what was left of the forest creatures where his own DREAD CHARIOT had crashed. His power was slightly weakened in this new land, but the presence of GRIMDARK in any capacity was sufficient for GRIMDAD. He came here to fight for his own world and the fate of others, and dammit he was going to do that.

GRIMDAD set off in a random direction, his massive bulk crashing through trees and hoping he'd eventually find something legitimately evil.
Maru Memora (played by MaruCookie)

Maru wasn't far from the woods when the man came crashing through the forest. "In the name of Finrir, what is his problem?" He was headed her direction so she quickly jumped to the side and watched him pass by. She hoped desperately that he was on the good side.
Walking behind him made traveling easier, everything he crashed into, every shrub, tree, and rock seemed to be pushed, crushed, or chopped in half. It made the road clear for her and she didn't mind it a whole lot. Even if she prefered her trees stay intact when she was in them herself.
GRIMDAD (played by Taco)

GRIMDAD stopped on his heel and shifted, turning to face his follower.
"HELLO, MISS." he said, "MY NAME IS GRIMDAD, I AM HERE TO DESTROY THOSE WHO ARE THREATENING THE NEXUS. NOW, I NEED TO FIND THE FRONT LINES AND GET SOME SUPPLIES TO FIX MY DREAD CHARIOT."
He sized up the woman. She was small, and pale, and waifish. GRIMDAD's mind instantly jumped to the conclusion that she couldn't be human, the only ones he had seen being LARGE and STRONG from exposure to GRIMDARK.
Kayla Shade (played by MaruCookie)

(What she looks like)

Her green eyes watched him as talked then flicked toward the path of trees that would soon be uprooted and overturned. Thankfully he was on the good side. So she gave a smile, her canines longer than humans. "I am Maru, decendent of Fenrir and chosen from the Lunar." she adjusted her satchel and looked up at him in all his weaponry. "We may have a ways to go before town is in sight. For me, it would take several hours on my own. Though, it may take only take one with you clearing the path." Maru said in an even, but polite tone.
GRIMDAD (played by Taco)

"MARU? MA'AM, YOU DON'T LOOK PARTICULARLY ROUND. OR CATLIKE." said GRIMDAD. He swiveled back around and opened fire with his MACHINE GUN, cutting down trees as he advanced. "AND WHAT'S THIS ABOUT FENRIR? GIANT WOLF? I THOUGHT I KILLED HIM ALREADY WHEN HE TRIED TO INTERRUPT MY DAUGHTER'S PLAY RECITAL!" His voice easily cut through the roar of the machine gun and felled trees.
Kayla Shade (played by MaruCookie)

She placed a finger to her lips and frowned. "I did say decendent, but I didn't say he was alive. Did I." she said calmly. "I didn't know that was the cause of his death, but it is disappointing to hear that he died because he interrupted a play recital. Very disappointing indeed." Maru shook her head and watched the trees fall once more. "I apologize for the trouble he may have caused." She didn't want to start an arguement with this man. For he was well equiped where she was not. "I pray that your daughter's recital turned out well? Yes?" Maru hoped.
GRIMDAD (played by Taco)

"OF COURSE IT WAS!!" said GRIMDAD, gesticulating furiously as he sheathed the BEDROCK BLADE. "SO YOU'RE A DESCENDENT OF FENRIS? WHAT DOES THAT MAKE YOU, CAPABLE OF SWALLOWING SUNS? OR JUST A WEREWOLF?"
Maru Memora (played by MaruCookie)

She smiled wolfishly, "The latter. I am afraid my mouth isn't capable of such a feat." Maru chuckled. Now she was realieved. Only a little. That this . . . this Grimdad wouldn't attack her for being in relation to Fenrir. Her body slowly changed and became more furry and her fangs lengthend. Though she could of went to all fours, she decided against it. She didn't change too often, but she wanted to prove that she was telling the truth.
GRIMDAD (played by Taco)

"I SEE!!" observed GRIMDAD, "MY NEIGHBOR STAN WAS A WEREWOLF. NOW, HOW MUCH LONGER TILL WE REACH THE FRONT LINES?"
Maru Memora (played by MaruCookie)

"Usually it would take several hours, but since you can practically clear most of the forest on your way there, it would be an hour at least." she replied, now changing back to her original figure. Though she didn't enjoy having the trees destroyed, she much rather have a place to sleep and be refreshed.

(You guys can have fun playing on for a while; you seem to be doing great all on your lonesome. Have fun, roll with it, I'll eventually input when I'm not so cramped on time. I was surprised to see the thread blow up this late!

Also, Fenrir is amusing. Let's be glad my "twins" didn't hear that or she might get a boot up her butt. Sins of the father and all. Ferous once skinned someone alive for naming technology given to them by her after Fenrir.)
Zaire M'lill (played by DL909)

Great. Just great. Who had the damned man chosen? Me. So I had been taken into the forest on a different planet. To make things ever better, he has left me here. I sighed heavily, tossing a small bomb around as i walked. Hnnn.... This might actually be fun.... If i Live, that is. The man continued to walk through the forest, until he fell into a large ditch. What the...? This isnt on my mind map..! He stood up, regaining his orientaition. Someone hasDefinetly been here.
GRIMDAD (played by Taco)

"SO, AS I HAVE SAID I'M FROM THE LAND OF GRIMDARK." said GRIMDAD, trying to make idle conversation. "BUT WHAT ABOUT YOU? WHERE ARE YOU FROM, DEFENDING THIS WORLD?"
Maru Memora (played by MaruCookie)

Her head tilted up again to look at him, but her green eyes had narrowed. "I . . . Have come from a planet called Finora. To fight for and defend all the good that is here. To the best of my abilities. If I die . . . it will be an honorable death to which my people will let me live by eternity by stories and tales. I am not afraid of death, but of being at a disablitly." She grinned a wolfish, but disdainful grin. "Shall we be on our -" the wind had pick up and her head whipped around behind her, smelling another presence here. "I think . . . we have a vistor." she chuckled as she watched the man tumble into the ditch.
GRIMDAD (played by Taco)

"I SEE!" said GRIMDAD, "LET'S GO AND MEET HIM!"

GRIMDAD STOMPED over to the newcomer. "HELLO. FRIEND OR FOE, ANSWER NOW."
Zaire M'lill (played by DL909)

he gritted his teeth and frowned. One thing he hated more than being blind was being Laughedat. "depends on who you are, really." he stuffed the small bomb into his pocket, his mind map creating an outline of the two before him.
