Starvanic (played by Kyra45)

There was once many gods and goddesses who ruled the land. Those who created life, and those who erased it. They were once a group of many who united to create a place for all to live and exist peacefully. Yet, the group alone eventually parted ways. They left with them a long forgotten legacy, spoken only in books.

It was perhaps for the best they seperated. But in the present, there was very little left to tell who they all were. It seemed as if everyone had forgotten who they were. Humans had lost most of their records to speak of the feats these forgotten gods and goddesses had done.

However, there was little to say that all those were gone. For on Earth, there was still one left..

The lone human sighed and sat under a long dead tree. At his side was a satchel. Faded text on it read 'Books'. He sighed again and pulled out a few books from within. They were old books. Books of history long forgotten detailing many historic things. But his favorite book..It was a book detailing his 'siblings'.

They weren't really his 'siblings'. Just gods and goddesses he grew up with. They weren't around anymore, mostly. He hadn't heard from them much nowadays. Oh well. That's family for you.

After reading the books, he suddenly relized he was in someone's lovely garden. And sadly, this wasn't for the best. Within mere seconds, the lovely blooms turned a sickening brown and wilted in his prescence!

Panic set in as he looked around fearfully, just as he spotted the owner...Who was it?

(anyone's free to hop in! Just be aware I work daily so yea..)
Vida's day had been relatively normal. Normal for her, at least. In between the morning violin-practice and conversing with the head in her freezer, this strange man reading in her outdoor garden was by far the least expected thing she had happened to stumble upon.

Vida quietly stepped out of her small, yet eloquent, abode and into her rather small garden through the sliding-glass door, a pair of denim jeans and a plain t-shirt being her only attire. Earlier, she had caught sight of the oddly-tall man, and decided to offer him a drink from her wonderful coffee machine. Mugs in hand, she used her foot to open and close the door. However, Vida watches the plants writhe at the man's feet in horror, eyes wide with fear. Speechless, she takes a step back, nearly dropping the two piping-hot mugs of what looks like black coffee. Her cowering voice manages to release itself for a moment.
"My...my primroses..."

((Hello!!! I found this topic super interesting, considering most of my characters, such as this one, are plants. Let's see where this goes!))

As soon as he heard someone speak, Starvy's face reddened in embarrassment. Oh boy. What started as a simple read of his books had once more took a turn for the worse. He had already ruined many gardens before this, but not as bad as he had done here. His expression became that of horror, too. Being what he was was never easy. Even more so if you could accidentally wilt any and all plant life. And from what he could see, this very person was also similiar to the very plants he was standing within.

''O..Oh! I'm...Sorry! Very sorry. '' He managed to stammer, as he got up but didn't dare move any further. By now a 'nice' little circle of browned and wilted primroses surrounded him. ''I...I didn't...Wasn't aware this...'' He holds his book close. ''This...This lovely garden was here.....'' He finishes, and looks at her. ''I....I'm......So...So sorry...'' He says in a defeated tone.

(Hello! i'm happy you find it interesting. this is the first time i've used this character outside of his original purpose in a group XD )
Vida looks down to the man's feet and, seeing what has become of her small garden, could only imagine what will become of her if she comes into contact with such a being. Vida shakes her head at the terrible thought, and sternly looks up to the man's face. At a loss for words, Vida attempts to speak again.
"What, how, where...Why!?" She said in utter confusion. "Explain!"
Her voice rising, Vida's previously horrific expression has died down into one of sadness. Then, a moment after, she looks as if she had a great epiphany, and gasps in awe.
"You're here to kill me, aren't you? You were sent by the assholes down in Hydrangea, weren't you!?" Vida's questions spur utter nonsense to this poor, tall man. Though, she looks as if she's on the verge of tears.

"W-w-who? Who's those?" Starvanic stammers, looking pretty terrified now. For what it was worth, he probably was too scared to talk any better than usual. He was starting to shake a bit, his visor sliding down his face to reveal his sunken eyes.

He tried to compose himself as he straightened it hurriedly. He gulped as he tried to explain himself as a stammering nervous mess. He was downright mortified.

"M..My names Starvanic! God of star...st...starvation!..." He whimpered a bit. "I..I..I have this power that causes plants near me to wilt..I can't control it.." He adds. "I don't mean...Mean any harm! I'm still too young to control my abilities..." He hides his face behind his satchel. "Very sorry about this..Lovely garden! No one sent me."
Vida looks this man, who had revealed himself as Starvanic, up and down, taking notice to his odd attire. A god of starvation? Seeing as he cowered before her and nervously attempted to explain himself, there's no way this man would want to hurt anybody, not even her primroses. There is no way this sad excuse of a god could be after her head, even with that coincidental power.

Vida's anger fades as she composes herself well enough to stand up straight. Taking a sip of the now warm coffee in her left hand, sighing as she looks to Starvanic with a bit of sympathy.
"Calm down. I'm not, well, too mad." Vida decides against yelling, as she wants to know more. With less anger, her voices calms down as well.
"How did you even get here?"

((Yes! That's really cool, I'm doing that too! I want to put my characters out of their comfort zone in order to better develop them for my canon roleplay. I really like the concept here as well as the character.))

Seeing her calm down, Starvy nervously lowers his satchel but still looks a bit shooken up. He wasn't sure if he should let his guard down just yet. He looks at her, his visor crooked. He sits down again.

After adjusting it, he regains his somewhat calmer compuser and sighs. "I'm not really sure...I was traveling the lands to find my siblings. Other gods and goddesses like I am. We created..Many things." He replies, still a bit nervous. He picks up one of the wilted blooms, rather delicately. "I'm not sure why my power kills plants. But I promise I won't touch you. You look kinda plant-like."

(The group I used him in kinda died...so it's nice to get to show his behaviors outside of where it started. He was just a generated character description-wise that I used. But his name was made by me. XD)
Vida looks to have relaxed a little, still keeping her distance. At his remark of looking plant-like, Vida looks up and down her neatly-shaved arms, confused at his comment. She clears her throat and looks back to Starvy.

"Me? Plant-like? I mean, you wouldn't be wrong in assuming that I'm plant-like, but I didn't think I looked the part. You don't look plant-like either, so naturally I assumed you were some creepy-old dude in my garden." Vida takes a moment to look Starvy up and down. "I'm probably not too far off."

Vida raises her cup to take another sip of the coffee, having almost completely relaxed. Even if this odd plant-murderer tried, he wouldn't be able to lay a hand on her. Vida thought about it while taking another sip of coffee and taking a seat herself.
"This isn't the first time I've seen a power that kills plants, so don't worry about the garden." She giggles and rests the two coffee mugs to her side.

''It's not the first time?'' He sounded a bit curious. He thought he was the only one capable of killing plants by accident. Not that it mattered much, but to him it would be nice to know that he wasn't alone. His jet black hair had a few dead vines ensnared in it from his numerous travels, which he finally removes carefully.

''But it was a very pretty garden....And yes. I look kinda creepy. But I can also be an ant.'' He remarks, brushing his clothes off a bit as he looks at her. He finally had calmed down properly and didn't feel too threatened. ''I mean, I assume many things...Because I don't know much about life my siblings made..'' He sighed. ''Well, what are you, then?''
Vida scratches her head as she casually speaks to Starvy, in contrast to her previously horrified demeanor.

"Nah, last time it was a big problem. Legit, I thought you were one of them returning and trying to kill me, ya' know?" Vida moves her head to the side, lightly flipping her messy aquamarine hair out of her eyes. "My name's Vida. I'm a Nyaid!" Vida smiles gleefully, stating her race as if it were common knowledge.

Starvy looks a little confused.

''A....What? What's a 'Nyaid'?'' He asks. ''If you don't mind me asking, that is.'' He adds. He hadn't heard of any before. Even the books he carried held little knowledge of the beings living on Earth. Perhaps these hadn't been around in the time the book was written, or maybe the author just never bothered to write it. He looked eager to learn, but didn't move from the circle he was still at. Maybe he feared for the life of the other primroses.
Vida looks to Starvy in disbelief. Seriously? He doesn't know? He must really not be from around here.
"Oh, you don't know, huh?" She says, tilting her head ever so slightly. How could she explain this without sounding crazy or giving her a migrane?
"You aren't from around here, are you?" She asked with a chuckle, clearly not reading the signs. "Nyaids are a majority of the people on this island! You do know we're on an island, right?" Vida spoke again as if it were common knowledge. It won't be long before she would start jumping to conclusions once more.

((That's sad!!! I'm trying to get my characters out more so I can better develop them as a whole and tie backstory together-ish. I also like to meet new people and do random roleplays.))

''To be honest, the place I came from is long gone and erased from history. A place where Gods and Goddesses once lived all together in peace. I do not know what happened to it. I just found myself travelling the world trying to find my siblings again.'' He tried to explain why he was clueless. ''I hope to see if they truly have left this plane of existence, or if they have returned back to where we came. But so far, I have found none....'' He sighed.

''I think I know this is an island...But I do not know the Nyaids. They are not in my books...'' He remarks. ''My books are so old, they are out of date but no one writes them anymore.....History is lost. Legacies are forgotten. Maybe your kind came after my books?''

(yes, it was fun until it ended. i'm still working on this ones backstory XD. i too like to random roleplay with people. sorry in advance for any short posts sometimes)
Vida looks confused as Starvy explains himself. Oh, this has got to be a joke. There is no way he could've gotten to this island on accident. Is he for real? Vida internally keeps her guard up, waiting in anticipation for his possible confession.
"Huh, a place where all gods and goddesses live together? Do go on!" Her voice slightly rises with a sarcastic intent. She must find out the truth.

((It's all good! I do short posts too sometimes.))

"Yes. It was a grand palace, where gods and goddesses dwelled. Where we watched over the Earth, safe from any harm.." He explained, looking longingly at the forest skies before looking back down sadly. "Where we could create many things, without fear of being harmed by out creations..." As he shifted his visor a bit, a lone teardrop dribbled down underneath it.

"But then one day, we all got into a squabble...And our palaces went up in a blaze." He finished, kinda sorta sobbing a bit. "And I found myself on Earth as an ant with no idea what got me here!" He exclaimed, throwing his hands up on the air. "Maybe I died. I just don't know."
"Wow... I can understand what it feels like to lose all your friends." Vida now sounds sympathetic. It was one thing to have her old work disbanded, but to find another going through a similar situation? It felt...nice to know she wasn't alone. Maybe she can trust this guy.
"Well, you're on an island, and we're currently in my hometown. That's a start, right?" Vida is unsure how to act. What can she do here besides listen to this poor man?

((Hey!! Sorry for not responding. Stuff has been getting busy lately and I haven't had much time to roleplay.)
Starvanic (played by Kyra45) Topic Starter

''Well, yes. But the more I move, the more lovely little plants I might accidentally wilt.'' He pouts. ''Though I think my ant form doesn't do that....'' As he thoughtfully scratched his chin. ''Have you ever seen an ant?'' He asked her, adjusting himself to a more comfortable sitting position. ''You see, my siblings could turn themselves into wildlife to blend in and go unnoticed! I can be a very tiny ant! I mean, small enough to get smooshed...But still an ant.'' He grinned, eagerly waiting for her reply.

(It's alright. Life happens.)
Vida slightly cocks her head to the side, looking down in wonder. "True... There must be some way-" Vida cuts herself short, now looking at Starvanic with a hint of excitement.
"An ant? You can change forms?" A smile emerges from her previous frown. "That's so cool!" She almost yells, clearly impressed. It may be an ant, but she is still a little envious. She claps her hands together in anticipation. "Show me!"

Starvy closes his eyes, and suddenly starts to get smaller and smaller while his shape seems to shift into something much tinier then himself. The dead plants under him barely moved as he soon disappeared into the undergrowth. Within moments he seems to disappear and looks to be out of sight from anyone.

However, should one look closely, there's a small ant on a leaf chittering cheeringly.
Vida places her hand over her mouth in awe as her eyebrows lower.
"What the hell, that is so cool!" Vida almost shouts. She scoots a little forward, eager to get a closer look. Though, she reminds herself of the possible danger, and quickly restrains herself. "I would offer you some coffee now, but ant you a bit small for that, now?" Vida laughs at her sad attempt of a pun.
