Hey, can anyone tell me about dice in rp?
i mean what's the usage of dice in roleplays, people usually use it in fights or something like that?
Please tell me anything that i need to know about it because i will need it sooner or later.

Some people enjoy tabletop RP games such as Dungeons and Dragons. Such games use dice to dictate success or failure on character actions. Some people here use them as well for that purpose or even to just add an element of randomness to an RP. By and large, my experience here has been most people prefer free form RP to dice.

As someone who's tried diceplay online over multiple avenues. It honestly really only works via tabletop imo. Roll20 can work but that only if your really in it for the game with a dedicated GM. otherwise i've used settings as a backdrop for rps, as well as used stats (mostly from D&D/PF) to show what I believe my PC is capable of.

This too. Dice use requires a lot of back and forth communication that really slows down a forum or PM based RP. If you're RPing live via chat they could work. Otherwise Roll20 has a cool setup like Samurai said above.
