It's the 1950s. The Cold War is in full swing. The US is subject to constant propaganda aggrandising capitalism and exposing the evils of the so-called communism of the USSR and her allies. But hidden behind this mask of moral superiority, the US government's clandestine operations betray the fact that it is certainly no saintly power either. The CIA in particular has been busily performing multiple inhumane operations on the unwitting civilian population. But whilst folks elsewhere are subject to attempts at mind-control, tests for the effects of radiation, drugging, dangerous psychological experiments and various other covert action, one facility of orphans gathered from across the world for some unknown reasons are about to get a life-changing shock...

It had been a few weeks now, confined to small rooms disguised as hospital facilities, poked and prodded by enigmatic nurses and observed by officials in smart suits. Various injections and therapies later, and it was almost beginning to feel normal. The occasional slip of words like 'weapon', 'mythology' and 'latent genes' might have slipped by the younger subjects; but to the older more aware children, they meant trouble. Then one night, it all came together. The reasons for everything that had occurred here.

Awakening in the middle of the night, the subjects found themselves changed into various mythological beings... and the staff had mysteriously vanished. Electrical power was on the fritz, and damage to the facility's infrastructure had appeared where there once was none.

Had some of the subjects gone mad? Was escaping possible? Was there any hope in returning to civilisation after the changes?

So I had this idea. Kinda a cross between horror, sci-fi, maybe a bit of thriller and survival thrown in. And I also wanted to explore the sort or clandestine experiments that occurred during World War II and the Cold War that followed.

I might make this a group RP depending on how many replies and how quickly they come... chances are that if I get a 1-on-1 RP started and underway before I get a second confirmed partner, I'll stick with 1-on-1s.

I'm putting forward three characters as a choice for who I'll play - if this ends up being 1-on-1, I'll discuss with partners which one I choose as the main (with the others being 'NPC' characters), but if it ends up being a group RP, I might play multiple of them instead. Firstly, Deril (or Daryl as his real-world name is) in his naga form. Secondly, Mickel (or Mikkel) in his harpy form. Thirdly, Kiro in his simian form (which can be explained as being based on Sun Wukong to keep the ties to mythology).

There are character restrictions involved :

- Characters must have been originally human

- Characters must have become transformed into beings from myths and legends (centaurs, nagas, harpies, satyrs... that sort of thing)

- Characters must be over the age of 7 and under the age of 18 (the former to suit the pacing; the latter to suit the backstory)

As for partners, I want to request partners over the age of 16 due to personal comfort and darker themes.

Other rules:

- Paragraphs please. Average of 2, minimum of 1. Make sure that if you can't post a whole paragraph that it only be a rare occurrence. And naturally feel free to post more if you want to.

- No romance and sexual content.
