Hello everyone! At Balticon last weekend I found out about a new website called ARCHIVOS, which is a story/setting development tool and it seems SERIOUSLY awesome. It has the ability to create a timeline for your setting, as well as interactive maps and character webs. Check out the one I'm working on for Candylance!
I'm still just beginning to explore the possibilities, but I'm really delighted with the tool so far. I do my writing in Scrivener, but this will be easier to quickly set up complicated relationships between events, places, characters, and other elements. so I MIGHT move all my worldbuilding over there (that will be a lot of work). The developer has this project set up to map out Star Wars: A New Hope that shows off a lot about what it can do.
There are basic and premium memberships. With the free service you can have one private story setting. (There will be a way in the future to import/export story settings so you could work on different ones, just not at the same time.) For $6/month you can have unlimited private settings, and for $8/month you get unlimited private and public ones, and you can host collaborations!
