The year is 2085 and the United States is... different
In 2020, nuclear radiation was leaked from power plants due to terrorist saboteurs and devastated much of the East Coast. These same terrorists also unleashed a deadly plague across the southeast, forcing a government quarantine and evacuation from the area. Several major cities were wiped off the map or abandoned due to nuclear fallout. The population has rebounded however, and the majority of the States' population now lives in the Western part of the country. The farthest east you'll see an inhabited city is Chicago.
The existing cities, especially those of California, have sprawled outwards and upwards, and towering skyscrapers dominate the view wherever one goes. Unimaginably powerful corporations have provided huge leaps in tech, such as augments and androids to the consumer base, but are now at one another's throats for political power. The existing government is a mask meant to keep up the illusion of democracy while foreign megacorps pull the strings behind closed doors. Cybercrime and sabotage are common, with rival corporations hiring mercenaries on the daily to interrupt the operations of their enemies. Huge gangs run the streets and gunfire often punctuates the darkened alleyways as gangs battle it out for turf supremacy and the police join in to stop them.

Our story starts off in the city of Greater San Francisco, where something is brewing.....

The thing up yet? I'd be down to RP with my bud Influence. I'm not sure if he'd qualify, but he seems perfect for the situation. The only downside I see with joining is if I fall behind and have to drop out.

Also, I don't condone other characters control, so no need to worry about it. NPCs are a different story, but not main characters and such.
