You had joined a team of archaeologists at a dig site in Scotland. They had found something truly unexpected hidden away beneath the ground. An ancient temple far too advanced to have been built by celtic settlers. More akin to structures built in South America or Egypt, the vast buried building contained numerous odd chambers with walls covered in carvings in an unknown script from a long-lost people. Upon finding the centre of the temple, strange silver objects, each embedded with a large gemstone, lay hidden away in secret compartments. Empty perfectly-shaped recesses in a central altar hinted that yet more of these devices once lay there. At first, it seemed like these objects were removed long ago... then a modern-day chocolate bar wrapper was found on the ground. Someone had already been here. And recently, too.

That was the last thing you remembered before waking up in a cave deeper in the forest with a strange four-armed, purple-furred creature standing over you, an expression of curiosity dominating its facial features...

Looking for a player to lead the fight against a shady organisation planning to use ancient magic to seize power on the global stage!

This is a one-on-one scenario. No romance between players will occur. No sexual content permitted.

If you like this idea but don't have an archaeologist character, there are multiple other reasons for you character to have been there, including:

- Utility staff
- Offspring of one of the archaeologists
- Work experience
- Friend of a high-ranking member of the dig team

You kidding me, magic is one of my main themes, heck, I have an entity that is the living embodiment of all magical energy in the multiverse
And most of my stories and main characters are set in England and the UK
So yeah, I'll give it a shot

And also, I do have a ton of characters unposted like Destiny: the entity of all magic, Turah: alicorn-goddess of power and knowledge, and Red Rogue: a more serious version of deadpool

Well I'm looking for ordinary human characters for this scenario. None of the characters you've listed look like they fit that.

Also, I typically prefer to have characters pre-prepared before agreeing to an RP - too many times in the past I've had potential partners say they'll make a profile for a character or make a completely new character and never end up doing it. As you've only got one character on your profile and they're not really what I'm looking for, I'm not going to agree to anything just yet.

I'm really interested in this and I think that Verstand here would work best as one who either is working because of work experience or being a friend of a member of the dig team. Now as for the issue of being a normal person, I'm completely okay with getting rid of his magical abilities and a lot of other skills he has for this RP.

I do have a couple of questions though.
Is this going to be done in private messages?
Are we going to play through the discovery process or will we be starting right where the prompt leaves off?

I'm not sure quite what your character's magical abilities are going by his profile (unless they're related to the abilities mentioned in the traits section). But we could tie them into the artefacts. The same could go for other skills. Artefacts providing power is a big part of this RP.

I normally do PMs. Easier to keep the RPs organised and better for keeping track of when a post has come in.

The RP will start where the prompt leaves off. The lost time between the discovery and waking up in the cave is there purposefully to keep a few plot elements mysteriously hidden away at first, and I feel it might be awkward to act out part of the discovery only to suddenly cut it short with a "and that's all he remembered" thing.

Oh yeah, I forgot that I kept it vague. Basically he's able to enhance some aspect of his body (like reaction time or strength) via a sort of aura boost type deal. And as a matter of fact, your idea of using this story to tie into his abilities sounds like a really good idea. Do you want to set up a PM thing or should I do it?

I'll send a starter post in a PM. It should be open-ended enough that if you feel there's anything else that needs discussing, you can drop me a separate message thread for OOC and we can pause and do those discussions before continuing (the starter shouldn't really contain anything worth discussing over, so it shouldn't matter if we start before you've had a chance to talk about anything else if you need to).
