This Looking For RP topic is marked as closed, meaning it is no longer seeking new players.

The Rp is set in the world of D&D. In the material plain.

A grant feast is given by a rich merchant in the mining village of Kicht. The host of the party named Alexander Underfoot invited the many important people from all over the kingdom to come and feast in his massive mansion. Think about other rich merchants, nobles and high ranking government officials.
The feast is going just like planned. But, when the clock strikes midnight the wife of Alexander, lady Cicel Underfoot falls dead on the ground. As soon as that happened the grounds have been locked down. Nobody can leave until the murder of murderers have been caught.
Magic 70%
Magic is fairly common. Players and NPCs important to the tale may have it. Mistborn.
Technology 20%
Iron age
Combat 50%
Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.
Interesting; do the guests have to be human?
Moriarty Topic Starter

Off course they can be something else then a human.
Gus

Will it be played like d&d, as in rolls and rules? Or more freeform rp, or something in between?
Moriarty Topic Starter

It will be something in between. I am working at the moment to make a quick map of the grounds ( so everybody knows what is where) and a list of importent people who are at the party. If you want anything added for your character just send me a pm and I will do it.
Moriarty Topic Starter

Well here are the party members at the party. If you want to add someone you feel free to do so. :)

Gus

Staff at the house:

Cuthbert 'Bertie' Sachs, male, human, stablehand

Bertie's childhood hometown was raided and near-destroyed by orcs, and for this reason he bears a personal hatred of them to this day. He is therefore distrustful of his co-worker, a half-orc, even though he has shown no ill intent towards Bertie or anyone else in the time they have worked together.

Humber Grell, male, half-orc, stablehand

Humber is a quiet man, and understanding of Bertie's prejudice- he was raised mostly by the human half of his family, and doesn't think much of orcs either. He is gentle, kind, and apparently endeavours to do no harm. He's not much of an intellectual- indeed, he can't read or write- but he loves animals, especially horses. He doesn't eat meat. He's strong, tall, and heavy built. He doesn't trust or like anyone who is purposely cruel to animals.

Nettle Knott, female, gnome (forest), maid

Nettle is a quick, light-footed, nervous type, always fidgeting and apologising. She gives the impression of a young woman, but is in fact several hundred years old. She is the first from her colony of forest gnomes to venture into the city, and is very grateful for the opportunity to work for the Underwoods.

Shaun Wickerman, male, halfling (stoutheart), maid/manservant

Shaun is something of a joker, and a divisive personality- some find him funny and endearing, others irritating and obnoxious. He rarely takes anything seriously, and enjoys being the centre of attention & entertaining others. As the only male maid, he is often found in personal service of Gorel, or Alexander, though the head of staff usually sees to the latter.

Jarla Varuk, female, dwarf (hill), maid

Of the maids, Jarla holds the most authority. She is a serious woman, who does her job well, is always busy, and talks little. She is often overlooked in a room or corridor unless she announces herself, which suits her just fine. She has learned a great deal about people this way, some of it secrets, but she doesn't believe in telling tales or stirring up problems. Nobody knows much about her feelings or opinions on anything, her alleigances, or her private life, but she has worked here as long as anyone can remember, so she must be well-trusted.

Wisteria Crimp, female, human, maid

Wisteria is the most recent hire, a local lass. She's pretty, and known to be somewhat promiscuous in the town. She doesn't appear to be very good at her job, or very hard-working. Rumours are whispered about 'alternative' reasons she may have been hired, either by the head of staff, or Underfoot himself.

Nora Torbir, female, dwarf (mountain), cook

Loud, brusque, hot-tempered and authoritative, Nora seems to have given herself the title of head chef. She has the respect (and quite possibly fear) of her co-workers, and allows nobody to belittle her. Outside of work, she is a married mother of four.

Adran Silvermist, male, elf (high), cook

Adran considers himself a true culinary artist, and is often infuriated by Nora's management interfering with his meticulous work. He does have talent, and the quality of his food is undeniable, but he is a perfectionist when he needn't always be, and takes his time on one dish rather than focusing on filling the table. He also appreciates fine elven wines. He looks down upon those with 'inferior' tastes.

Reggie Tallow, male, halfling (lightfoot), cook

Reggie doesn't take sides in this kitchen feud. He does what he's told, and does it well. However, there's something about him that people never seem to trust. Perhaps his nimble step, quick fingers and keen eyes put people on edge, for they tend to hold their valuables a little tighter when he's around. His background and such is not public knowledge.

Dmitri Leonidas, male, human, head of staff

Dmitri is in charge of hiring and firing staff, monitoring and appraising staff, managing the staff & supply budget, and assigning duties to members of staff, as well as his own servant's duties. He is the highest ranking member of staff in the manor, and the closest to the Underwood family, both as a trusted employee and a friend, confidant, and unofficial advisor. He is often at Alexander's side, discussing business affairs whilst assisting with his washing, dressing, food-fetching, daily briefing etc. When Alexander Underwood is away from home, he is left in charge of the manor- except for its security, which is of course Greyhand's remit. For such great responsibility, he's rather a young man at thirty-four. Each morning, he holds a meeting to assign staff their day's task, and then goes to brief Alexander on any events or responsibilities he has in the day ahead.

CypherDorran, would the manor staff (who have the guest list) know they were expecting a tiefling? Or is she disguised? Is the grandmother she's representing a human...?

I don't think they would thnk to mention it.
Gus wrote:

She is not disguised but it you look at the pics on her profile her traits are somewhat subtle and only noticeable close up.

The grand mother is a Tiefling, she's the one in the middle of this pic
