Hello!
I was just playing with this idea in my head, and I thought it might work as a fun way to add on to anyone's character and give them more dimension.
Basically, you pick 6 traits (examples given below) and choose a character for them to possibly apply to.* Then, in your reply to this post, you assign each of the traits a number and add a dice roll (1d6). Then post and see which trait your roll denotes! Ta-da! Your character now has this trait;** simple as that.
Of course, for this really to work, you have to figure out how your character acquired that trait, especially if it's a skill. If it ends up being a personality trait, it can go either way, needing an explanation or not.
I think this is a little convoluted or murky, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask and we can work out the kinks.
As well, I will provide an example of how I picture it to work.Here is a list of example traits!
– Green thumb
– Athletic
– Artistic
– Good at a specific medium of art (sculpture, pointillism painting, etc.)
– Any school subject they might really enjoy (regardless of whether they attended or not)
– Musical ability (or more specifically: an instrument)
– Can't ride a bike
– Can't hula hoop
– Bad at writing/good at writing
– Allergies?
– Lactose intolerance
– Markings (like specific scars, birthmarks, freckles, or even just an abundance of beauty marks)
– Pretty much any trait from the Sims works pretty well with this
– Can ride a skateboard
– Surprisingly lucky
– Good at research
– Talks fast/slow/other (or just their voice in general!)
– Good at impressions
– Good with animals (or the opposite)
– Scared of heights/spiders/the ocean(or any other phobia)
– Knows birdcalls
– Likes to stargaze
– Likes picnics
– Affinity for hiking
– A certain part of their world they've visited and really liked
– Homebody?
– Can't stand the smell of [insert thing here]
– Callouses anywhere?
– Easily bruised (or the opposite)
– Nice hands
– A love for a certain type of animal?
– Nail-biter
– Dancing ability?
– How do they wash their hair? (weird one, but I've found most people do it differently)
– Keeps journals
– Favorite superhero?
– Guilty pleasure
– Brush or comb?
– Do they paint their nails?
– Massage enthusiast
– Can they stand on the tips of their toes?
– What kinda of games to they like? (puzzles, card games, board games, [insert any historical game]?)
These are mostly modern human traits, but I hope that they can easily spark creativity for characters who aren't that!

I find it very useful to look at yourself or your group of friends and think of your/their quirks that are unique to them or are just little tidbits that never really come into conversation or life, but you know them. These things may never be that important to your character, but they help you get to know them more. Who knows? You may even find that you might take more than one trait!
*This is important to make sure the traits are relevant to them. What I mean is that maybe it would be a little out-of-place if you prehistoric character could skateboard.
**You obviously don't have to keep the trait, but that's beyond the point.

6. Has a great relationship with family members.
These are all Negative Traits not including 6
edit: got 4 , don't know what to say but i'm adding this. Glad its not 6 cause then ill have to change the entire story for them if i was going to add it in

In this particular instance, I am doing this for the young and headstrong Sapphire Queen, Sernin Therrel.
1. Can play the hurdy-gurdy
2. Trained in swordfighting.
3. Secretly loves pumpkins -- to like a weird degree
4. Social cues are completely over their head
5. Can get distracted and overly-sweetly sentimental over the smallest things
6. Sneaks out to walk incognito and spy on people doing their business-- all just a friendly check in, of course!
