The Extras (played by Arcol)

In a time far into our future, the world has been drowned by some unknown force. The survivors of this disaster were those who had prepared prior to the flood; enter the Imperitus Abyssi, a great ship designed to carry thousands of passengers, crew, and nobility. Under the jurisdiction of Head Captain Weathers and his advisor, High Confessor Meldach, the Abyssi has sailed in relative peace for nearly 25 years since our home was submerged beneath the waves of a never ending sea.

Recently, however, there have been rumors of land, and not just the small specks occasionally seen in the distance; they speak of lush green isles, flourishing with plants and teeming with animals. Of course, the High Confessor refuses to acknowledge these claims, as does the Head Captain. One of these claimants is a man named John Matthes, a worker in the lower vessel who once had a criminal record so large, he was placed in “the Pods” surrounding the great tree near the bow of the ship. When his son Seth begins to listen, the tensity increases. This is why he calls on you, his closest friends, to help prove his dad right. But with the High Confessor’s ears everywhere and a strict ban on the mention of land, is it even possible to convince the populace to abandon their sea life for the home of their fathers?

((Sounds good. I’ll start us up.))

The mighty vessel had reached its 25th year on the infinite ocean a few nights ago, but Head Captain Weathers had arranged for the celebration to continue for a while more before getting back to work. The High Confessor was not seen at all, likely performing the rites that kept the ship afloat, as well as provided the food the large tree on the bow grew upon its branches; much of the fruit at the party came from it, if not the entirety of the stock, save a few pre-flood foods brought aboard.

John Matthes, his wife Maria, and their son Seth were near the opening of the grand staircase which led to the higher quarters of the Head Captain and his officers. The area was usually cordoned off to the lower classes except as individuals seeking his guidance, but the opening to Weather’s home was open for the gala as part of the recognition of the working class in the lower decks and the extra ships sailing beside the Abyssi. Those schooners were mostly filled with supplies and items from the old world, as well as those unfortunate enough not to afford a ticket to the Abyssi but were lucky enough to stowaway in the cargo holds. Those fortunate enough to enter the larger ship became workers of the lower levels, in charge of the engines, the prisons, or the High Confessor’s secret project that only he had admittance to. Returning from this digression, the Matthes’ were standing by the entrance of the Captain’s Foyer, gazing below to the numerous survivors of a drowned land.
