Thank you for a wonderful Halloween event!

Posted by Kim on November 1, 2015, 11:50am

Thank you everyone for an incredible halloween event! I thoroughly enjoyed RPing with you, and getting the opportunity to play with people and characters I never would have before.

As you've likely noticed by now, a wave of sugar (and pumpkins!) has just swept over the RPR, the just desserts of everyone who helped make 2015's trick or treat the forums such a success. There may be a few more accolades that trickle out over the next few days, as late-entry scenes wrap up.

Although this was our best attended year, there were still a few topics that few trick or treaters found -- I'll be brainstorming ways to make this less likely in future years, and I would love your feedback to help make trick or treat the forums ever more successful!

If you participated: What did you like about the event? What did you not like? What suggestions do you have for future years?

If you didn't participate: Why not? What might entice you to participate in future years?

P.S. Good luck to all of you embarking on NaNoWriMo adventures today!

I would love to see Christmas themed event. And I am not for not being very active during the month of October.

I will try again next year. No worries.

@ThePsychicBruiser - I don't know yet. Probably not this year - that's pretty close to the FOBETEO event, and that usually keeps me pretty busy!

Can we have a New Years event as well?

They'll remain like any other forum topic does.

What happens to the topics? Will they be stored or deleted or something?

I am sad to say that due to the overwhelmingness of my work I was unable to attend. I love a good dark themed story, while most of my characters on this site are not of the evil or dark theme I have quite a few bad guys in my lists elsewhere that I would love to role play with.
I am really hoping to attend next year and I hope that we can have more suspense/horror themes open in the future and not just save them for the Halloween ^^

I didn't participate - I'm from a country where Halloween is not a thing, so I didn't feel the urge. It was fun watching the trick-and-treat RPs pop up around the site, though :)

This event was a lot of fun! I don't often RP on the forums, so this was a great way for me to give that a try.

The only real issue I had was that this time I kind of felt like it didn't make sense for my character to be out and about trick or treating. Maybe next year, I'll actually go around and check out some of the other threads that people come up with!

I really liked the openness of the event - how any character could reply to any topic regardless of that character's species, story, or background. The naming scheme of the topics made them really easy to find as well! I look forward to next year's Halloween event - I hope we do this again!

This year looked like an exciting and eventful, uh, event! <g> I'm sorry I missed participating in it this time around--I've honestly been so busy with pre-moving work that I didn't muster up the energy or will to extensively RP this month. :( Next year though I intend to change that!

@Kim

Maybe a New Years one? I can see various people setting up New Years Type parties. (As for Akira selling his Taiyaki as well.)

@ Reima

This brought out me to try a couple of my new muses, as well to break in Bart and Takeda.

I hope people enjoyed my idea~ I wanted it to be a bit different/special as my peeps are technicly from the same team and all
Personally I had a great time, might not have gotten to write as much and as often as I'd have hoped, but I found at least one new person that I wish to RP with later on too~

@ThePsychicBruiser - Do you have any ideas for other events you'd like to see? :)

I really enjoyed the event. ^ o ^ I mean, that's hopefully evident by all the threads I entered. I hoped to get all threads at some point (and I actually have some tabs open to threads I'm replying to at the time of writing this).

The one thing I definitely enjoyed was the fact that my characters could interact with so many others without the constraints of setting and whether or not we could consider it canon or not! I think that's one of the main appeals to me with fun events like this. :'D

I'm not sure I can really suggest anything for future events. o: Though maybe we can have a community accolade making contest, or contribution? If people are interested in making accolades for the event at hand that gives out multiple accolades, there can be some really unique ones! Just a thought with a lot of the same accolades showing up on my page after the event. :'D

Plus, I think it would be fun to have people doing some pixel art for the site! ^ o ^

This was a very fun event, thank you admins and mods and people. Plus, I got an accolade. Yay.

Yay event! I didn't participate partly because I don't have any characters who'd really fit it, and I don't dig scrunching a character's personality and setting enough for a one-off, and I don't really dig one-offs, anyway. I'm definitely glad people had fun, though, as I heard nothing but good things about it. :-D
