Hi, Kim and team. (It has a ring to it!)

I was wondering if a sub-forum to test our codes would be allowed? I know I shouldn't compare, because Repository is by far one of the most unique sites I've been on, but it just seems to be a norm for the other places dedicated to play-per-post roleplay.

This way, people can even revise their roleplay search drafts before slapping it onto the Find RP section, and also have a backup for their codes should they mess up somehow in the official post. (This is especially likely for people like me, who are perpetually stuck with browsing the web on a phone.)

They can also use it as a reserve for all their templates.

It's also my habit to try out ways to "prettify" a post with the BB codes permitted. If we have a little spot for aesthetics enthusiasts like me, I'd be ... well, ecstatic. XD

There's a 'Preview' button on your textbox that lets you preview your post before submitting it.

You can also edit your posts after creating them to fix mistakes!

I personally use a private group (forum) that I founded and restricted to myself if I have to save versions or try out new things. It means that, not only can I spam my own group's forum to my heart's content and mess around with info that is 18+ if needed, but I also get to save everything indefinitely without it getting lost among other people's test posts. I never have to worry about any mature content ending up in the PG-13 area because I'm the only person who can ever see it. :)

Personally, I don't see any value in a public test board. It's just literally spam that other players can't (and have no reason to) interact with and with the available alternatives, it seems like a waste of effort to implement. (Naturally it's up to Kim if this is something worth considering!)

I've never run into a test forum before! But previewing is definitely what the preview button is meant for. :) I grant you it's not a perfect reproduction, but it's not too far off, either.

As for saving templates... That is an interesting proposal, but it makes more sense to me to save personal templates into your Google Drive (or into whatever notepad you prefer), rather than putting them into a public place that really isn't meant for public interactions.

Google Drive doesn't work so well on my phone, unfortunately.

Additionally, I've tried alternatives like sending a PM to myself to see howit looks like (except it won't let me Quote, and thus I cannot retrieve the formatting I did).

As for Preview, I do use it as well, but there is something about constantly putting my official search thread under construction that disturbs me. It's like, "Hey guys don't post your interest yet 'cause I'm still trying to perfect my post, perfectionist at work here. Not the final version." Plus, the browser reloads itself after you forget about it for over 10 minutes or so (such is my case very often, sadly).

Go to Community > Browse Groups and look for the Start A New Group button (scroll down on mobile). Follow the steps to create a group. Make sure the group settings (Settings > Privacy & Publicity) are set to 'Top Secret'.

Then you can create a forum in your group through the group's forum options by going to Forums > Manage Forums and following the instructions there!

As your group is secret, nobody else can get to it unless you invite them. This makes it super useful for testing and safekeeping. The group forums work just like the regular forums. :)
