Hmm I don't know what else to explain that the guide doesn't (unless you don't know anything about dice), though I can try to simplify it. You roll a numbered die. It's mostly used in fantasy and determining the outcome of actions. You can add positive and negative modifiers according to stats and whatever is happening in the plot. You can also add a little optional note so you/others know what you're rolling for.

Hey Tamara! My friends and I use dice in a fairly simple way, mostly to choose between one option or another in terms of which direction to take the rp in.. like going left or right down a fork in the road!
You could also use it in combat rp to see if your character's attack missed and how strong it was!

I'm not exactly sure what dice roll is either... I usually just use it to determine who goes first in the roleplay, or to determine different things. Honestly, just use it to your advantage! It can be anything you want it to be. ;P
