He smiled at her."Good decession mistress" he said.He thought it sounded like a good idea. She played so nicely, there was no point in not letting more people hear it.
Grace put her instrument away and walked over to where aiko was. "You never talk about your family. What are they like?"
Aiko watched as she put her instrument up.When she asked what his family was like, his ears dropped again. He looked down."Never knew them" he said.As to where his parents were, he had no idea where in this world they were, what they looked like, or even if they were dead or alive.Aunts, and uncles, and grandparents to, he didn't know.
"Oh." Grace hugged him. "I'm sorry. I've been selfish. Complaining about losing my parents when you don't know yours."
"Don't apologize mistress" he said.Fate could not be changed after all.His parents could've abandoned him for good or bad reason, he just didn't know what.He figured loosing your parents, was sadder, and more painful, then that of never even knowing them.Loosing your parents, and knowing that meant you got to grow up with your parents, get close to them.Love them. But never knowing them, you never did any of those.
"But I still feel bad. You're so nice and you've never known them." Grace let go of him.
Aiko grew silent. He had no comeback. It was true, he could not deny what she said.
Grace put a hand on his shoulder. "But don't worry. Since you're living here from now on I'm your family."
Aiko looked at her, a spark of possible gladness, and hope.It wasent very common, but he hugged her, despite the fact, he was just a butler, and she was the mistress.
Grace hugged him back and then realized what she was doing. Somewhat embarrassed she let go, her face a light red. "How about we do something else?"
Aiko released her from the hug when she started to pull away."Like what?" He asked her.He had seen the room where they practiced katana, he had seen the music room, what more was there to see?
"Well, there are a couple more rooms but its getting closer to dinner so I guess we could do it after then." Grace said. There was still the garden, the gym, and the beastiary that they hadn't gone to.
At the mention of dinner, Aiko asked, "what would you like for dinner mistress?" He asked.
Grace smiled at him and thought for a minute. "I'm in the mood for chicken noodle soup."
"Okay mistress" he said standing up."I'll go make that" he said, starting off towards the door.
"Thank you aiko." She said to him.
He didn't require thank you's but it was nice of her.He opened the door, leaving the room.He took a second as he walked to remember where the kitchen was, and made his way there.
Grace walked to the dining hall, he katana in hand.
Aiko had been a little hesitant going into a room that may have maids in it, but he remembered what Grace had said. They'll be fine with it. At least I'm pretty sure they will be. he remembered. He sighed quietly at the rememberence of the 'at least I'm pretty sure they will be' part. But he had to deal with it.He went off, washed his hands, a typical thing, and went off to prepare what the mistress had requested,
Emily walked around the kitchen checking on everyone who was cooking. None of the maids had noticed aiko's ears at the moment. That is until Emily walked over to him as he was working and looked up at them. Curious to see if they were real, she reached up and touched them.
