SUMMER SOIREE:
DOLLHOUSE PARTY
You are dreaming.
...That isn't even an exaggeration nor a metaphor; it's a fact. You remember dozing off somewhere comfortable, don't you? Perhaps it was in your own bed after a long day at work, or in a lawn chair while reading a good book, or in the shade underneath a big tree...
Whatever the case, you are most definitely asleep right now.
Yet here you are, standing in an artificial meadow. The grass is a carpet of yarn, the flowers are crocheted, the trees are made out of gigantic pipe cleaners that have been twisted together, and the sun is beginning to set on a sky painted with watercolors.
Before you stands a dollhouse. A life-sized dollhouse, big enough for you to walk inside as if it were an actual home.
You see colourful lights in the plastic windows and hear upbeat music coming from within... Is there some kind of party happening?
As you approach the door, you are confronted by a giant plush dog serving as some sort of bouncer. It looks down at a notebook in its paw, then back at you, then back at the notepad.
Without a word spoken, the dog nods at you before opening the door to the dollhouse, granting you entry. Whatever's going on, it looks like you've just been invited.
Why not? You're sleeping right now- you may as well kill some time and get a full night's rest while you're here.
Ready to join the party?

Hi there! Welcome to Summer Soiree topic! Good to have you.

I really enjoy hosting forums during big events like these, so here I am again to do yet another one! So, allow me to set the stage and lay out some ground rules:
This is a summer house party! There's music, food, games to play, and people to talk to! What more could you ask for?
ANYTHING GOES! This setting is open to ALL genres! Since this event takes place in the Dreamworld (your character's dream), you're welcome to join as whoever you want! Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Horror, Modern, Fandom/Canon, you name it!
Your character is asleep, and can leave the party by just waking up- it's that simple. With that said, you may back out of (and by extension, return to) my event at any time! Patches doesn't plan on wrapping things up for a while.
No harm will come to your character! The Dreamworld is canonically a nightmarish hellscape, but to abide by the rules of RPR, we'll just ignore that. Your character will have no problems waking up, rest assured!
Remember to keep it civil! IC drama is okay, but please, keep it IC. We're here to have fun!
And lastly, don't be afraid to PM me if you have any questions or concerns! I promise, I don't bite. I wanna make sure this event is fun for everyone involved!
Aaaaaaand, that's it! With that, come on in and have some fun!

It was a sheer fortune that Patches knew Cris - so they probably wouldn't be surprised to find her lingering on the door, talking amiably to the dog bouncer.
"... and I can't believe I never even realized a place so cute could exist! You've been living here long? Oh, I have a darling friend who'd absolutely adore it here, their name is Patches! If only they could be here too.. I'm sure you'd get along with them! And it would be so fun to explore this place with them.."
Good ol' Cris. Jumping to assumptions faster than Burt would jump to raid the fridge off every bottle of crisp, cold beer - naive as only she could be, and bless her heart, always thinking about the happiness of her friends.

The guard dog does not respond to any of Cris' excited ramblings, aside from nodding; while it does look reactive, it looks like the bouncer is incapable of speech.
Upon the mention of her friend named Patches, the dog's head perks up and looks into the house. The dog stares and no longer reacts to her input, as if it's fixated on something and wants Cris to look at it, too.
Peering at the party area reveals that the dollhouse looks a bit bigger on the inside, the interior illuminated by colourful string lights, and decorated further with ribbons and streamers and balloons. There are bowls of tasty yet very unhealthy snacks scattered all over every table that can fit them, a milkshake bar in the kitchen, a sliding glass door leading to more activities outside, and a live band providing the music!
Everything seems to be run by stuffed animals. A stuffed cow is standing behind the milkshake bar, and four stuffed animals- a bear, a chicken, a fox, and a rabbit- are part of the band playing music.
And standing on the counter of the milkshake bar was none other than the host itself- one that Cris was all too familiar with.
Their single eye lighting up with glee, Patches jumps down gracefully from the table and runs over to greet their first guest with open, plush arms.
"Fox-Friend, Fox-Friend!" Patches squeals, string not required. "Patches foooouuunnd yoooooouuuu! Come in, come come come!"

Cris turned curiously as the dog bouncer's attention shifted to the interior of the dollhouse. Seeing yet more stuffed animals inside, she brightened. "Oh, I get that, you want me to meet your friends?" She smiled, and waved in greeting to the band. "Hello! It's nice to meet you all! You can call me Cris... oh hey matey", she chuckled, spotting out the fox among them and making a playful pirate fist-bump, complete with "Yarrr!"
But before she could go on and say what a lovely set up they had for the party... her eyes trailed to the milkshake bar and she gaped at the ragged doll perched on the counter. "... PATCHES?" Instantly she bought her hands to her mouth to suffocate a gasp. WAS the world - even the DreamWorld - a small place, indeed?! Of all people!
Laughing, she ran toward Patches too and scooped them in a hug. "I was just saying now to your friend on the door how I'd have loved to bring you here and show you this amazing place - and next thing I find you here? That's awesome! This is your house, then?" She looked around. "It's adorable!"

The majority of the band acknowledged Cris with a nod, yet didn't skip a beat with their songs- aside from the fox, who gratefully returned the fist bump before continuing to play music with its friends.
Patches' long, pillowy arms snaked around Cris in a snug embrace, remaining in her arms as she asked about the house.
"Heeheehee! Thaaaank yoooou. Patches maaaade this house!" Patches explained. "Fox-Friend is in Dreeeaaaamwoooorld right noooow. Patches can put houses heeere, or theeeere, or aaaaanywheeereeee!"
The Dreamworld was at Patches' fingertips... or lack thereof.
"It's summertiiiime!" Patches continued, their speech completely unburdened by their pullstring. "So Patches wanted to throw a biiiiig paaaarty! Parties help Patches make loooots of friiieeends."
They kicked their feet in delight. "Fox-Friend should join us, tooooo! Have fun with all of Patches' friiieeennnds!"
...That is, when everyone else gets here. It looks like Cris was the first to arrive.

Chie stood frozen for just a moment, her eyes darting across the surreal landscape like a kid trying to make sense of a dream...and well, that’s exactly what this was, wasn’t it? A dream.
But not the kind you forget by breakfast. This was one of those dreams. The vivid kind. The kind with yarn grass, pipe cleaner trees, and a life-sized dollhouse blasting music like a birthday party thrown by a toy store. Chie blinked. Then blinked again. “Okay, what kind of dream is this?!” she muttered to herself, adjusting her jacket like that’d somehow make this more normal.
Then came the giant plush dog.

“…What the—?”
It stared down at her with beady stitched-on eyes, flipping through a little notepad like it was checking a guest list. And then...nod. Just like that, the door opened.

Chie took a step back, both fists instinctively clenched at her sides. “Okay, this is officially the weirdest dream I’ve ever had, and I’ve literally been inside a TV before.” She hesitated, glancing back at the soft, glowing yarn-covered meadow behind her. But then she looked forward again, eyes narrowing with that classic, bold spark.
“...Aw, screw it. Let’s party!”
She marched forward with the confidence of someone who’s been drop-kicking shadows since high school. Because hey! this was a dream. And if someone was throwing a party in a sentient dollhouse with a plush dog bouncer? No way was she sitting that out.

Dream or not, Chiharu wasn't too sure about this whole thing... They couldn't help it. They had anxiety, and sensitive hearing, and this place looked like a party, home of crowds and loud noises, so they were naturally rather hesitant to get any closer. And yet... They were also curious.
This place was so... Whimsical! It looked like something out of a cartoon, or a kid's imagination. In other words, the perfect place for the silly little kitsune to explore. Even if they were rather nervous... It would be okay, right? And if the dream turned to a nightmare, they just hoped they'd wake with a start so they could pretend it never happened.
With all that in mind, the little fox - for they were in fox form now, with their little nose sniff-sniffing and their four tails already starting to wag with eager excitement - made their way towards the dollhouse. Sniff-sniff to the yarn grass. Sniff-sniff to the crafted flowers and trees. Sniff-sniff to the dog bouncer. The music grew louder. This was nerve-wracking... and a little exciting, too.
It looked like a few people were already here. Should Chiharu sniff-sniff them too? No, wait, that was improper. It was probably more important to just avoid being stepped on, anyway. Avoiding getting too close to any feet, they wandered into the dollhouse, all senses alert.
