*Stuff like this was always good to take people's minds off of bad things. Willow grabbed a huge box and stood on her tiptoes, sticking it on top as like a ceiling. For the most part, it looked alright.*

"Haha! Box fort and chili! This is almost better than that time I stayed at my boyfriend's house, and me and his sister stayed up all night eating ice cream!"

*Willow would clap her hands together brushing off any dirt then look up at Max and grin.*

"Job well done, bossman!"

Max: really couse honestly when's the last time you've had ice cream I haven't had just a normal cone of ice cream probably a week before the world when coput

* he said as he finished the rest witch was crappy since he never made to many before but it didn't bother him he was happy about his work*

Max: thanks your way better then I am but I mean for a first time I say I did pretty well want to go help me look for any stuff for the chili like maybe some more canned food or ingredients

* he said curiesly as he would start to prep the hot plate and other stuff together to cook*

*Willow nodded, and chuckled at his work. It wasn't bad.*

"Just put this...here.... And..."

*She grabbed a box and placed it in the middle to try and brace everything.*

"That should do it. It should be secure now...I think."

*Willow would towards the food aisle, then back to Max.*

"Other than crackers, what goes in chili?"

Max: well alot of things actually fretows hotdogs you cook it in with the chili except instead of eating it on a bun you just eat it straight up but then there's also vegetables to put on the sides * Max sorta went on a little bit of a lesson on all the different stuff that can be combined together *

Max: oh jeez I'm sounding like Dame guy Ferrari here if anything just try and find any canned vegetables or crackers like you said and if anything maybe they got a deep freezer here and there's maybe still good stuff in there

* he said as he walked down some of the ilde some scared across the floor some not he was looking for some flavor packets to give the chili a hot but flavorful taste *

*This was a new concept to Willow. Growing up the way she did, her family never really did things like that. But it seemed like an interesting concept to her.*

"O-okay. Then I guess I'll look for something that looks like it would go with it?"

*Willow followed him to the food aisle and began looking around. She grabbed a couple of packs of Ramen, some canned spray cheese, and a couple of bags of chips. She would return to where he had everything set up and wait for him.*

* Max would chuckle as he watched her take this noodles and such and he would take a turn going down another ilde trying to look for some kinda canned meat like spam or hopefully ham but that was just a hope he had but he didn't end up finding anything other than he saw a freezer that weirdly felt some what cold like a color cold so he opens it to find a small tub of ice cream *

Max: no freaking way bro theres no way * he opens it and there's actually still some what frozen ice cream in the tub he rolled his head in shock and immediately closed it and ran to the back area to the fort *

Max: willow you won't believe this shit look * he said holding the ice cream in front of her "

*Willow stood there, items in hand, awkwardly smiling.*

"Ice cream? What flavor is it? And will this stuff do? I've never experimented with mixing stuff like this."

*She knelt down and sat the items on the floor before standing back up, still awkwardly smiling. She felt okay. Just weird. It was a moment of normal in a world that died.*

"I like this. Not being chased or having to fight. Or being rained on. I'm totes going wardrobe 'shopping' after we eat!"

Max: hehe well the label is like something Iso I don't know but from the looks of it I think chocolate or maybe rocky road but this is like half melted so can't really complain but well eat that while the chili cooks I know it's backwards but it's ether we eat the somewhat ice cream or drink it when its liquid

* he said as he would start to take a bottle of water out of his jean jack pouring as much as he could in to make some chilie and then dumped the beans seasoning and started to cook *

Max: you know it's been a long while since I actually made any of this so if it's not the best I'm sorry* he said with a chuckle as he started to ster everything with a old wooden blade he had since he was a young *

Max: do t let the age of the lade fool you it's about at least 80 percent clean * he said as he stared *

*Willow let a smile form as he talked about the ice cream. She would look around, but no spoon. There had to be a utensil area. Willow would go searching. There it was. Not much left, but some useful stuff.*

"Oh. He could probably use these for cooking."

*She would grab a couple of cooking spoons and a table spoon. She opened the ice cream and stuck the table spoon in, then began eating the half melted mess. With the spoon held in her mouth, she would try to talk as she handed him the cooking spoons.*

*Muffled*

"I found these. Hmm."

*She reached out and offered them to him.*

Max: well then that's perfect : he said as he took one of the spoons and took a decent bite he had nearly laugh since it's been a long time it's been since he's eaten ice cream*

Max: holy crap that's amazing I'm honestly shocked how it's got its flavor still * he said happily as he took another bite before continuing to start the chili you could tell it was cooking since the room smelled like chili *

Max: the only thing I think would make this better is a movie or game to play to be honest * he said thinking when he used to eat his food then play his game it was the most escape he had when he was a child *

*Willow's eyes lit up. She would take a paper towel and wipe of the spoon she had been using, then offered the rest of the ice cream and the now, sort of cleaned, spoon to Max.*

"I have a handheld game. Its just a knock off Tetris game, but you can play it! If you can get passed the glitch beeps and shit, or just mute it."

*Willow would kneel down and shuffle through her bag until she found it. The screen was busted, but still worked. Luckily it ran on batteries, if they were lucky enough to find any. It still had a bit of power, but she was happy to share it. She would sit all the way down with her legs crossed and power it on. It worked.*

"The chili smells good. I can't wait!"

*Willow sat the game on the ground and slid it over to him.*

* Max was shocked to see a knock off hand held but honestly that was the most entertaining thing he's done besides killing raiders and zombies in the city he would stop steering and look at it happily *

Max: you know what's funny I used to own like brand dovoses like that I had a pretty good collection that went to the PS2 but unfortunately when you got no way to power the back of the van you kinda got to just leave stuff like that behind but I think I got it pretty well pesserved I stuck most of them in a old fire hose box that someone removed the hose from so I mean I know they won't get rained on

* he said thinking of all the different old school games he had but he would pick the hand held up and start looking for batteries around the area *


Max: it's useless with out batteries so I think are best bet is to find some here in the store

*Willow just sat and listened to him. It was still surreal to be around a sentient being that wasn't trying to kill her.*

"I'm sure we can find some. Probably other stuff, too."

*She would stand up and walk towards the clothing section. She looked around, throwing things that didn't suit her style aside. She eventually found a t-shirt styled like a band shirt, and some shorts that were reminiscent of punk band style. She would go to the shoe section and find some knock off brand shoes.*

"Heh... Not Reebok, but close enough, I guess. We will call these Beboks cause they be wanting, but ain't."

*She would return and lay the stuff aside for later.*

"I think I found some cool stuff.

*The chili was smelling good. Her mouth almost watered for real food.*

"How's that chili coming, chef?"

*Max slowly cooked the food making perfect while willow went on her shopping spree he chuckled once she came back with the clothes and the off brand Reebok*

Max: well I can see that how much will this all cost * he said jokingly about the cost *

Max: the food should be done here in about a few minutes so if you want you could shop more or grab that cigar case of mine and the joint that's still in the van and bring it back I always like to smoke before I eat it's kinda always helped me eat the bullshit I made when I was younger

* Max said as he chuckled to himself as the past thought had slipped into his head at the end but he would brush it off not working about his thought *

*Willow would nod and stand up.*

"I'm not going to argue with that logic! I'll be right back!"

*She would make her way to the front of the store, towards the van and peek outside before anything else. It seemed eerily peaceful. Willow would approach the van and quietly slide the door open. The way it was parked gave her little room to slide it much, but it was enough. She crawled in and reached to the front, grabbing the case.*

"Hopefully we can find more of this somewhere..."

*She said as she held it. She would carefully climb back out, quietly shut the sliding door, and make her way back to Max. She sat back down in front of him and handed him the case.*

"Here ya go."

* Max had turned the heat off on the hot plate letting the chili cool down so when willow came back with the case he would take them as willow handed it to him *

Max: why there we go now we can really appreciate the night oh there's still the liquor from the gas station want me to go grab that since you just ran out there * he said as he handed the case and lighter he has to willow *

Max: you can light it while I run out there if you want just don't try cheefing the joint it's the last labidor joint I have for now *

*She would hand it back and stand up.*

"Wait, I don't mind going. I'd feel better if you started it anyway since it's yours, haha!"

*She waited for him to take it back before she headed back to the van.*

* Max was a little thrown off when she offered to go again but chuckled taking the stuff back *

Max: ok then thank you oh there's a walkan in the van to and one of those old cd holders except the one I have has both cd and cassette tape slots so you can grab that to if you'd like give us some ambiance if that makes sense

* he said as he took the joint out as he would put it in his mouth and hold it like jim balushi *

*She would smile and head back to the van. As she walked through the store, she had her past running through her mind, but soon she shook it off. Willow would check outside again to make sure nothing was shuffling around. She quietly slide the door open again and began looking around.*

"CDs and cassettes? That's actually kinda cool."

*She would shuffle around in the van, finally finding the binder and player. She then reached up front and grabbed the vodka. Willow climbed back out of the van with all of the items, and carefully shut the door again. She would make her way back to Max and sat all the stuff down before sitting back down across from him again.*

"Here ya go. I found all if it."

*Max was shocked when she came back with everything in her hands he was about to get up to take something but then she put it down so would flipp open the folder and flipped to all the cassettes and pushed the book towards willow *

Max: go ahead and pick the music your the one who grabbed it so it feels right for you to pick

* he said as he lit the joint and got up and walked over to the shelves and found some shitty red solo shot glasses and sat back down with them * Max: I found these while you were out

* he said as he took a long drag before handing the joint over to willow *
