I’m hoping this topic is allowed on here, but I feel like I am the only one who’s frustrated with RealmRoleplay.com . It seems like as soon as I join the site, one of the owners disables my account for literally no reason. I followed the rules and their Terms of Service. I did absolutely nothing wrong. This is the third time I’ve tried to join that site and they disable my account. It’s making me think the three owners of the site are toxic bullies. Am I the only one who’s frustrated? Is anyone else familiar with that site? They won’t even let me contact them to express my frustrations.
Hi Miranda,
I believe this to be allowed, else it would already be gone. Our moderation team is very present and do a lot to keep all clean here.
I don’t know the mentioned site, I’m not that avid player seeking for other possibilities to write my thing. I don’t know what happened there that made them do such things as ban you three times, I don’t want to know.
But what is it that makes that site so important in your eyes? Do you have there some friends you don’t want to loose? Else is it worth the frustration they inflict to you?
Just let them live their life if they want to, do your thing wherever else you want and don’t worry about them (grumpy bullies or not).
Oh, here on RPR there is a section that is so damn good written, maybe it might help you to understand or get another point of view of the situation you describe. Look here “mental health ressources”
When I read you, the few words you have written, I can sense a very sensitive person behind these words. You are easily shaken up I believe. Don’t get me wrong, I do not blame you or say it’s bad. I simply feel that hypersensitivity you might have.
If it might ease your mind, we can discuss more in private, no obligation. Just beware, I’m neurotypical…

They have the right to do whatever they wish with their space. I have checked them out before. I found nothing of merit. I would find 0 rp there given my style and approach. Just go to roleplay.me or roleplayer.me . Same idea, more writers, same issues.

You’re right. I’m a very sensitive person. It just really hurt me because I have never interacted with anybody on that site. They disabled my account a few minutes after I joined it.

Yeah, you’re right. They probably thought I would be one of those people that cause unnecessary drama or use the site in a bad way, which I would not have done any of those things. It’s okay. It is what it is. I won’t bother with that certain site no more.
Hi Miralyn. I hear what you're saying. I joined maybe a dozen RP sites in 2021, and they all had their quirks. I really only tried interacting on a few and some I could tell were not going to work for me. I did find a home here on RPR where things seem to be fairly addressed. I do hope you too find this place a nice place to write.
Hey Miralyn,
It sounds like a very frustrating experience, I'm sorry! There's no real way for anyone here to tell why this is happening, all we can do is speculate.
As a moderator on the RPR, some of the reasons people may experience unexpected bans or actions while having no prior record on our site could be as simple as being pattern matched to another user with the same or similar IP address, email address structure or other little factoids about your account that flag it. None of these things mean you are someone we'd want to keep out, but they can happen as a coincidence all the same. I know in the RPR's efforts to ensure the community stays healthy and safe for all, it's unavoidable that every now and then someone gets caught in the cross fire of us trying hard to keep the ill meaning individuals out. We try really hard to not let that happen, but the internet is imperfect technology so every safety measure usually comes with the potential for this. It's entirely possible something similar is happening on the other website, down to there being an actual bug in the signup process!
On the RPR the issue is usually resolved as easily as getting in touch with Kim directly through email to discuss what's going on. It looks like Realm Roleplay's contact form is entirely missing for everyone though, and there appears to be no alternative email address to write to directly.
There's unfortunately nothing you can do about it considering they've made themselves unreachable to non-registered users. As frustrating as it is, I would not take it personally and just accept it's potentially poor management on their part and move on. I'm not sure I'd want to be part of a community that makes it so difficult to get signed up to begin with!
