((I was wondering if we could continue from the other thread. Do you want to start it again or should I can make a short post??))

She looked at her captain, Rolne, expecting to use the warmachine after passing with flying colors as she stood there while the other privates were tired from trying to catch up with her agility. Sir! What's next?" she asked as she stood in attention with her arms to her side.

Is he going to respond soon? she thought as she stared up in the air, her eyes on the rafters. She was excited, but she kept her composure with a stern look on her face before raising one hand as to salute him with respect.

Arpatia walked with pride as she walked amonst her brothers and sisters of war. Her pride to be here was great as she had dined and shared many things with her sisters and brothers as she stood for the Imperium and the Emperor of Mankind. She felt empowered knowing she was no longer an orphan. She now had a purpose in life instead of running from the law. Now instead of running from the law, she was the law. She had met many officers along the way and have even proved her worth. As well as civilians either feared or rejoiced of her coming as she marched like a true soldier. She would not displease. She will gain scars, but that was a badge to her. She would never dream of dying or being placed back as a civilian. That was a true dishonor to herself and her peers.

One in particular officer was Gault. She had grew fond of his stories of his victories as she was inspired to one day have her own stories to tell the younger soldiers as she hoped to gain ranks and even become a Sister of Battle. It was her dream. Standing there in salute to Mordians as she awaited the briefing from the other woman as she stood in respect, her arms planted on her sides, her now muscular frame showing through her armor. Needless to say she was style agile, but the training had made her stronger. She knew she was ready for war. She would show them how she could handle herself. She knew she would lose some of her brothers and sisters, but that was the life of the military. She would not mourn for their life for they would not want her to do so.

She was first to awake from sleep only due to being used to waking up early when she was a civilian, "Sir, yes, Sir!" she said as she fixed her bed military style before she heard the briefing from Rolne.

Feeling a swat to her back, she knew that he had grown onto her knowing she had successfully succeeded at every obstacle thrown at her. As she stood there, she looked at her squads Chimera, a beast that could take out the enemies in moments. She was ready to use it's firepower. It was making her thrilled as she thought about. "Sir, I cannot wait to get into it and take the scum by force," she said with pride as she saluted to him with respect. It became more frequent as she would salute her superiors as a soldier. It was out of respect for them.

She stood there with a slight grin on her face from his comment about loading first before everyone else. Of course she took what he said as a compliment. "Sir, I am here to serve you and the Emperor of Mankind. It was the least to show my prowess as a female soldier," she said cautiously as she stood there in salute as she knew that soon they would get their first action. She was going to come out of this alive and if she gained a few scars, it wouldn't bother her the least. She was ready nonetheless. It was going to be exciting to be on the field of battle.

She took her orders to mind as she was to take the hullgun that would be equipped to her as she would be ready to fight off the hordes of enemies with it. She would be back up just in case if required. She nodded to Rolne in understanding as she would definitely use the weapon with pride and honor. She looked at him with pride in her eyes as she was ready to load into the Chimera and mow down their enemies and take over the fort for the Emperor of Mankind. The excitement kept boiling in her as she held her arms behind her now as she took a military stance befitting a true soldier as she was ready for more briefing from her commanding officer.

Being told to brief the other men about what to do made her nervous. It as the first time in her life she was given the opportunity to give orders to her fellow soldiers. Was she destined to go up a rank? "We hit them hard and without them expecting us to come! We will come back alive, you hear me!" she barked at them as she pointed to the Chimera. "Let's make sure this warmachine is in great condition! I will be here to help expect it. That is my expertise. We will make sure to bring the hurt to them. Like Rolne said, we need to make sure this comes back unscathed or else it comes out of our allowance." she said as she watched the others go into action as she went with them expecting the weaponry. After she felt it was satisfactory. She looked at the satisfactory chair as she smiled at the thought of sitting there.

She took the seat next to Gault as she heard the engine come to life as she became excited to hear the engine made the loud noise that would bring the fight to the enemy. Looking at Gault offer her a Lho-Stick, she gladly took it and took a drag of it as she felt privileged to be inside something as this warmachine she would gladly share with her fellow soldiers. Once the doors shut, it became dim lit with barely any light. Feeling Gault. She knew everything was in order as she stared at him with that glint in her eyes as she waited for him to say something to her.

"I am privileged to sit next to you, Gault,"She said briefly as she listened intently about the Chimera and it's firepower. Listening to him about it only made her excited. She had a feel of the weaponry before they would move out. Listening to him explain to her what to do would be easy for her. She had shown that being a weapons expert was evident. She would make a surprise attack on the enemy and if she had to get out, she would use her hidden laser pistol at close quarter as she would blow their heads off their shoulders as she would take the fight to them. Only if allowed to exit the machine. With her weapon next to her, she would definitely bring the fight to them. "40 clicks out. Sounds reasonable. We definitely should start moving!" she exclaimed as she awaited further orders from the veteran.

As they were 10 clicks away, she got ready for combat as she heard only sounds from the Chimera. As they were close to the battlefield, she would hear beams overhead as she got ready for combat. Her gun next to her as she looked at Gaul, her demeanor changed in an instant as she brought her weapon to her as she aimed it forward waiting for the enemy to show their ugly faces. The sight was blurry, but she could definitely see through the smog and smoky environment as she looked straight at Gaul. "Let's take the fight to them. No prisoners only dead enemies," she said as she heard Royhaven speak through the radio. "Sir! We are ready!" she said to him as she clutched her weapon and looked down at her pistol as she was ready to use it at any chance given.

She ignored the other vehicle that had broken down. They must have not been experienced enough to keep it under maintained as they walked through the mud. "Poor souls," she said as she knew something bad was ahead of them. She was ready even before Gaul gave any orders to her.

Seeing gunflash from the farright, she hear Gaul command her as she open fire to the enemy, her guns firepower whirring through the air to the enemy as her face showed a grin as she got into it. Seeing the other men get gunned down by the enemies firepower, she kept opening fire as she screamed in delightment as she heard Gaul yell Oh ****, which she ignored as their Chimera kept moving forward. "Boys, stay focus! We're coming out of this alive. They were unfortunate. Mourn their loss later!" she barked as she kept firing her weapon at the enemy. She wasn't going to back down now. This was excitement she hasn't felt for a very long time.

Hearing the enemy try to stop them, the Chimera swerved slightly, she hearing the vehicle creak before resuming motion, her eyes staring around as she kept an eye in front of her as they took some fire from the enemy.

She heard the radio whirl as she heard the familiar voice. She ignored it as she kept firing at the enemy. Seeing the dead and dying, she kept going forward with Gault. "Casualties of war. Not much we can do for them," she said as she heard some cry for help. It hurt her, but she had resolve. She wasn't here to babysit the weak. They will be remembered at least for fighting for the cause of the Emperor of Mankind.

"Definitely doesn't sound like it," she said as she kept an eye on the enemy. As she saw one, she would fire off rounds taking their heads off their shoulders as their Chimera crawled onwards through the battlefield.

Hearing Gault tell her to fire regardless if there was anything there, she gripped the weapon in her hands as she turned it and just started firing whatever moved without speaking a single word he said. It was as she was in a daze as she got into the fight. She wasn't going down today. She was going home with the rest of her comrades. She was going to make sure they come back and enjoy some warm food and ale. And she was going to pay for them all for victory well done. She stared ahead as she had the gunrange as she open fire again. Feeling their vehicle get hit, she felt the vehicle in disarray as she felt it shook violently in response from the firepower from the enemy. She had seemed unconscious at first as she felt her shoulder being shook by someone. Her ears was ringing from the hit they had sustained as she heard a familiar voice speak to her.

She shook it off finally as she made it clear she was fine to Gault. "Damn! Mine? How bad is the Chimera?" she asked Gault as she examined their vehicle accordingly.

She didn't fear death at this point as the radio whizzed through. They had to get out of the battlefield as she got her bearings back as she grabbed a ahold of the weapon again and open fire while she awaited pick up. She was still bringing the fight to their enemies making sure she took out as many as she could beforehand.

As she kept firing the guns, she heard more noise as she heard planes up in the sky and explosions nearby. They were saved. The cavalry had arrived. "It feels great!" she piped up as her eyes watched as the enemy got mowed down from where they stood. Hearing the chit chat, she ignored it as she felt a scratch on her right cheek. Her first scar and she got excited from it.

"ONWARDS TO GLORY!" she screamed as she turned a 180 as she open fire again. This time she was going to make sure they were all dead. "We're going home alive, boys. We are taking this fort by force!" she said as she laughed loudly as madness set in her head. She was not afraid to die. She looked at Gault with a grin on her face as she fought alongside him as he drove their vehicle to victory.
Back at the barracks, Ami woke up early before everyone else as she put her uniform and adorned her blue armor as she put her boots on. She quickly made her bed before Captain Rolne would come into the barracks to make his routinely rounds on everyone's bed. Today was the day. Hard training for what is to come. She would have to be ready for the real battle ahead. She was no longer a private. She was sergeant and she was going to lead the four men that was with her during the siege that had happened a few days ago. "Boys, be ready, here comes Captain Rolne now," Ami said as she stood in a military fashion way as she brought her hand up to salute her captain before being briefed for the morning exercise training.

"Battle Theme"

The Chimera ground forward at a measured pace, tracks chewing through broken ferrocrete and churned gravel as 5B-03 edged along the hivesprawl’s outer flank. Smoke drifted low between half-finished concrete shells and skeletal gantries of mining equipment, the air carrying the constant crack-pop of autogun fire from just beyond the next block. Stubber rounds hammered somewhere ahead, the sound heavy and rhythmic, chewing into masonry. Inside the troop bay, Squad 5B-03 rode in silence broken only by the engine’s growl and the rattle of gear.

“Approaching release point,” Gault voxed from the driver’s cradle, easing the Chimera down behind a low rise of rubble and construction spoil. “Defilade achieved.”

Royhaven slewed the turret a few degrees left, bearings whining as it turned, there was a precarious silence, Royhaven flicking a switch and rotating a dial changing the display spectrum, the targeting surveyor tracked heat ghosts, the subtle red glow of his HUD unit glaring, as the accuracy talisman translated the machine spirits binharic into tangible information,

“ Auspex consolidating information... recent sitrep... communicating with adjacent machine spirits... approximating targets... contacts beyond line of sight. Two enemy elements, dispersed. Likely militia... they don't seem to be moving... they haven't seen us yet ”

“Copy” Caelus replied, already unshouldering the mortar tube. “Likely the best we're going to find to set up shop ” Iordan nodded.

The Chimera's engine idled, gun-chatter in the air, combat was close. Dust rolled over the hull as the rear ramp dropped with a hydraulic hiss, spilling pale light into the bay. The squad disembarked in practiced order rifles up, maneuvering in precise dismounting arcs, keeping low as boots crunching onto fractured ground. Iordan and Caelus moved immediately, dragging the mortar baseplate and ammunition crates into position.

“Suppressive fire, high,”

Royhaven called, and the targeting cogitator responded. A deafening volley of fire sent retribution in fire and steel, obliterating the upper stories ahead, chewing parapets and sending dissident heads ducking. Arpatia was next, " Careful " Royhaven cautioned as Iordan moved to the side of the chimera, gesturing Arpatia out, just then metallic sparks flew off the side of the vehicle in rapid succession, Iordan ducked, Caelus abandoned set up and moved forth, immediately going prone behind some light cover returning lascarbine fire in short, controlled bursts sent blindly into likely firing points, not to kill but to suppress, return fire.

“Move!” Iordan snapped at Arpatia, a ducked sprint to nearest cover. They advanced by bounds. One element covered while the other shifted, slipping between rusted loaders and stacks of prefabricated slabs. Autogun rounds cracked overhead, snapping off sparks where they struck exposed steel. A stubber opened up briefly, its rounds walking the ground far too close for comfort,

" Any time now Royhaven ! " Gault added hearing the commotion outside,

" Hold on, hold on... I've got to make it count, no sense wasting ammo, they'll be fine "

unnamed-25.jpg

When the autocannon loosed shells, it commanded respect, Royhaven silenced the rabble with a sustained burst, that made short work of anything the enemy hoped to use for cover, rather than focus fire on distinct targets, he instead compromised the position altogether, walls collapse, roofs coming loose and the enemy firing positions silenced in clouds of falling debris.

Arpatia's vox crackled alive " Clear, no heat signatures or movement detected up ahead... you might run into a few stragglers with autoguns, i'm not going to waste autocannon shells on lone scummers, maneuver and take them out, we'll buy you some cover "

The chimera rolled slowly forward into the main street advancing at an angle that made the armor more effective, the autocannon pointed towards the enemy positions, it was a threat display intended to play on an unsettled foes emotions, after witnessing all that firepower, they would scurry like rats to find more cover.

" Designated position, one hundred meters to your left, a shallow depression behind a toppled crane base... move Arpatia, i'm not going to risk advancing the chimera into mines or missiles, that section of the street was well fortified as per intel "

Gault cut the engine and powered down to low idle. The Chimera angled its hull to shield the rear approach, turret rotating outward to dominate the nearest street mouth, where Arpatia was ordered to move.

“Perimeter!” Caelus declared

Iordan moved without hesitation, taking a knee on the right flank and covering a narrow service alley. “Right side clear, for now,” he voxed, voice tight but steady. “Hearing movement deeper in the block... I've got the front covered, large blindspot towards the left, that alley might be a problem ”

Caelus looked at Arpatia and nodded, they needed to move the mortar, they navigated back to the dismount position, Caelus dropped the mortar baseplate, grinding it into the soil with his heel.

" I'll seat the tube, everything seems to be in order, grab five to ten shells from the crate, make sure you check the fuzes, they should be deact, otherwise we'll blow ourselves up, lift the front end of the mortar onto your should, i'll lift the rear and we'll move, if we run into contacts we drop everything and get some cover... or atleast get low "

Caelus awaited for Arpatia before they began to move,

“ Contacts, distance five-eight, approach vector 1100 moving straight...no.. just lost sight... predicting 0930, they're looking to flank from the alley ” Iordan muttered. “Adjusting ” Iordan added, moving forward some before taking a knee " Suppressing ! " he yelled, lascarbine barking as bright red flashes arced to disrupt the enemy, they returned fire as dust and metal sparks flew from contact with cover, as Caelus dropped the mortar.

" Ami, Move, MOVE, to the corner of the alley wall."

Enemy fire thinned all of a sudden, reduced to sporadic potshots as the dissidents hugged cover, and maneuvered. Heavy breaths as Caelus sprinted to the position almost tripping a pot hole as Iordan gave them covering fire, they were up against the alley wall, a subtle clink roused him

" They're reloading Ami we've got ten seconds before a rush, I hear a lot of boots, get your grenade, three twists for a three second fuse, soon as it's out of your hand, it's primed... make it count, we rush in and we take them out fire and maneuver "

unnamed-66.jpg

As soon as that explosion sounded the alley way erupted into gunfire and lasers, Caelus skillfully taking shots, right over Ami's shoulder, so close she could feel the searing heat of the barrel on her cheek, rounds bounced off their carapace and helmets, a subtle " **** " from Caelus as he hit the floor, no time to think three seconds later a rebel jumped at Ami, with his combat knife, tackling her, Caelus was on the ground, he reached for his laspistol shooting at the enemy position, their ears all but deafened and ringing from the explosion, the world was spinning, Ami saw another man attempt to bayonet rush Caelus before being shot through the eye with lasfire, likely from Iordan, he just dropped flat on the ground and seized up, the scent of smoulder and cauterized flesh as lasrounds liquefied bone, flesh and material, leaving brutish gaping incisions, a well placed shot to the vitals killed instantly, essentially bursting and liquefying the organs within, Imperial doctrine taught one to the head and two to the chest and then ten more to make sure.

It was a vicious melee, blows being traded, no doubt Ami's jaw caught a few punches, the glint of her combat knife... it was obvious what was to be done, no time to rest however, her vox crackling loudly, it was Royhaven

" Get the hell out of there, I see more coming in, they're trying to come around, i'm going to light up the street with high explosive then finish them off, I can't see a drekkin' thing, just blips of movement "

This was Ami's moment; make or break. Caelus still reeling from his injuries, the others had no idea Caelus was shot.
Feeling the Chimera inch closer and closer, she felt the thrill like she did before as before, the sound of rounds going off in the next block.

Hearing Gault, she got ready with her weapon as she sat there in complete silence. She stared around as her eyes lit up with eager as she wanted to take out some enemy scum.

She looked at Royhaven search for the enemies. And when he did, she lifted up her gun and said, "Good. The element of surprise. Maybe a flash grenade?" she asked him due to using something she knew would disorient their enemies for them to unload on them.

She sighed. Definitely the waiting game until the clear objective was made. Whatever they were going to do needed to happen soon or they will be overrun by the enemy.

She knew this was practice, but she also knew they would have to use whatever in their arsenal against them. She followed suit as she held her rifle high as she lined up with them as she moved outside from the bay of the Chimera when beckoned to come out, her ears ringing from the gun fire as she hid beside the Chimera, her rifle straight as she started to control fire against the building as though she might have gotten a few 'enemies' with her riffle.

Hearing the order, she crouched as she moved forward as she felt the heat of the training exercise. It felt so real too. It felt so close for comfort and it made her push forward even being barked at to move.

She heard Gault bark at Royhaven and all she heard he needed to wait. In her head, she was thinking like Gault. Hurry up and open fire! She wasn't going to disobey an order if she wasn't told to fire. She definitely didn't want to get chewed out.

"Roger! Arpatia out," she said back as she kept moving in a crouched formation with her gun ready and cocked for any stragglers.

She pushed forward from being commanded to. She didn't want anything happening to the chimera. "Tell me if you see anything!" she said as she got closer to the action, her eyes staring around her for any enemies to fire at.

She followed him back to to the dismount zone as she saw the mortar get dug into the ground. She nodded as she ran to grab shells and examined the fuses and all look fine to her eyes. She looked at him and said "Ready to move." She was ready after she nodded to him they would sure meet opposition for sure.

After the mortar was dropped, she was barked to move to the corner of the alley wall, which she did quickly as she looked around with her gun ready to fire with seconds notice.

Hearing gunfire in the distance, she was told what to do. She pulled out her grenade, three twists, and she let it soar through the air where she thought the enemy was as she got ready with her rifle. "Roger that, Caelus," she said as she was ready. Instead she watched as Caelus used her shoulder to fire at she saw Caelus fall to the ground, her mind racing like crazy. She turned around quickly when her jaw got caught with a punch as she took her bayonet and stabbed the enemy in the abdomen before her voxed started to cracked. In her head, she was thinking, ****, before she got the orders to get out of there.

She finished the guy off before she turned her attention to Caelus. "****, Caelus!" she said as she heard the footsteps get closer to their position before she cupped him above and over her shoulder as she strapped her rifle around her and carried Caelus in the opposite direction as shots soared past her helmet. "Don't die on me now, dammit!" she said as she ran to the drop zone where the rest were. She took her pistol out as she carried him on her shoulder as she fired back before she finally got to safety. If it wasn't for her fast reaction, both would be dead today. "Blow this shit up, Royhaven!" she screamed in her voxed as she got to the chimera as she took cover with Caelus still nestled on her shoulder.
