Hello there! I have Sci-fi laboratory group idea, but I'm brand new to creating groups and I haven't made many friends here yet. Soo.. I figured I'd reach out here in the forums for help creating it and finding collaborators! (I hope this is the right forum to ask in, LFRP didn't feel right)
So the whole premise is about multiversal travel. I've noticed a lot of forum roleplays here leverage a sort of 'multiverse' setting to allow you to insert any character imaginable. I imagine that sort of activity would fly on the radar of some power-hungry corporation.
Thus, our setting. A laboratory dedicated to researching the multiverse and entities from other universes.
I'm thinking of drawing inspiration from alot of things. think SCP corporation, Kane pixels backrooms series, stranger things, that last episode of peacemaker where they're exploring different universes to find one that suits their nefarious purposes. Basically a very organized corporation with no morals trying to take control of something they don't fully understand.
I imagine the story would revolve around them opening up a portal, entities from other universes falling through. Some entities may choose to collaborate with the corporation's work, others will probably be abducted for research. (This, in turn, allows for the insertion of anyone's OC!)
Although I'm a big enjoyer of this type of setting, I'm not entirely knowledgeable about the ins and outs of how a big corporation would run this. What should all the roles be? What will their ranks be? This is where I need your help- worldbuilding and setting up the group. Help managing the group would also be AWESOME.
Anyways please comment below if you're at all interested. Feel free to share ideas and whatnot, I'm all ears!

You had me at Sci-fi laboratory group idea, then I saw SCP Foundation and Backrooms inspiration and I am SOLD. I'm working on a slightly similar premise too, and I might be able to help with this idea.
Typically in such a group/organization, there's always a founder (often leading in a council), then executives, later scientists, agents, etc. From what I know, at least, so take it with a grain of salt.
The group itself could be made from a a messed up reality? Which I think would fit somewhere in a futuristic era, where their HQ building of sorts would be deep in space. If you're familiar with the wormhole theory, it could be used to explain how the other entities (characters from various other worlds) arrive there.
Or you could just have them as people who had just found the technology of interdimensional travel and went buck wild lol

Yeah, a council of founders makes sense. I imagine there'd be a site director, head scientists, normal scientists, researchers, medical staff, field agents, then some REALLY tight security with defined rankings. The security rankings are probably what I need most help with, I have no idea how that side of things works. There's officers and special response units I think? IDK bro :,)
I like the idea it's a group from a messed up reality. Probably a futuristic dystopia, where corrupt corporations like this one have basically become a governmental force. Deep space would also be a good setting to prevent escapees. The wormhole theory is also interesting! I imagine their experimentation has torn some sort of rift in the fabric of reality that allows just about anyone to seep in. That, or they keep making portals to random dimensions and go in and capture entities. maybe a bit of both! The whole concept is very versatile

I'm not so sure about security myself :') but for the general idea, there could be up to 5? (Chief Security, Field Supervisor, Site Guards, Soldier). To make it simple. You could add more as time goes, usually we get ideas along the way, at least for me personally. The security could be separate; one that deals with the anomalies, another deals with general security. Safeguard Security Force maybe??? Idk I'm bad with names :') We could use colors as codes on their uniforms to determine their ranks? (Monochrome colors are high ranks. Red would mean tanks or soldiers who brute force their way in. Blue is for defense. Yellow is for general soldiers(???))
Yup!! Or maybe there could be an anomalous area in a certain part of space? Which would explain the rifts and stuff. I imagine the organization would send expeditions on certain rifts, they could send in scouts (robots or expendables perhaps?) to determine whether or not the world they entered are safe for them to enter, and if it is, they'd send people to retrieve some samples and if they're lucky, kidnap some unfortunate soul on the way. I also imagine that in these expeditions, they'd collect and acquire various weapons and techs for themselves to arm their forces

OOOO yeah!! that would explain why they're out in space! I love the idea they located a weird area that develops alot of rifts and simply just build a research center around it. That makes much more sense!!

Or at least willing to work with them. But there should be safety measures and precautions tho right? Electric collars or something, or if they try break it or something, it would trigger a shock or something close to anesthesia?

I think I get your idea! Some spherical devices that connect to form a forcefield around the rift. I like it!

Primeval might be another series to look at regarding creatures coming through rifts, and how said rifts were responded to. 2007 - 2011.

5 levels of security sounds good, but I would also recommend an almost external set of security not unlike SCP MTF units, whose sole purpose is re/acquisition/containment of entities/objects. Such work often requires specialized knowledge and equipment, meaning they'd need special training and be their own tier. Potentially amongst the "most informed" tier of security, by sheer needing to know how best to deal with any number of extraterrestrial or planetary threats/perceived threats.
Similarly drawing from SCP, many different things require different approaches to contain, so while shock anklets or what have you may be good for most cases, we ought be open to creative solutions for outlier cases.

And hello there Lore! To be frank I only have a surface-level understanding of SCP, I've never gotten that deep into the lore of that so your input is VERY appreciated. MTF units like in the SCP universe would make a lot of sense, considering not every entity will be easily contained. Special containment would definitely be needed for outlier cases. Perhaps that could be part of the reason they're exploring a multiversal rift? searching for a better place or better tech to contain some of the creatures they've come to acquire.

I fell down the SCP rabbit hole hard years ago & am still clawing my way out so it's nice that I can finally put some of that lost time to good use. 
And utilizing the multiversal rift as both seeking better containment and an ingress point for other things is a fun concept.
