Genre: Survival/Dystopian/Thriller/Mild-Horror
Plot: After a nuclear disaster spread across the country, causing many people to fall sick and new illnesses to make an appearance. The government began a secret program to push scientific and medical progress in order to help it's people. It took child orphans from various states and sent them to facilities across the country to run experiments on.
The facility was not overly inhumane, but it was strict, and every day you seemed to get worse and worse. Eventually the time came that the government announced the program publicly. Parents, desperate to give their children a better chance at medical care and education, sent their children to the facilities.
This shift forced the orphans who were reaching teen-hood, to the bottom of the facility. No longer in a private school setting, but now forced into a prison-like labyrinth where they knew they would not be escaping.
Every day you are told you are helping the greater good, and every day you are injected and tested on. They won't say it to your face but deep down you know, you are going to die here.
How it works: We will be playing as characters that share a cell and eventually work together to escape. Whether our characters are close or are at odds is something we can discuss further.
We can both play up to two characters depending on what you want to do specifically.
Key Details:
•Your character must be between 13-19.
• The patients are referred to by staff in a coded language of animal names. This is important to the themes of the RP/story.
-Rabbit: Patients with no notable behavior.
-Cat: Patients that are aggressive to staff or other patients.
-Dog: Patients that are obedient and compliant.
-Rat: Patients that have shown favorable mental or physical advancements.
-Bird: Patients that have made escape attempts or were caught scheming in general.
• There's strict schedules and a system the facility keeps to. Our characters can't just run around and do things whenever, without penalties. We have to work around the system to plan our escape.
• Most patients are subjected to physical tests, procedures, and medications but 'Rats' specifically are only given mental procedures.
• There are binary gendered/labeled uniforms. This could be interesting to focus on if your character happens to be trans at all. (The only difference is a tank top vs a shirt, but if your character is trans they may defy the system by simply changing uniform.)
• There will be reoccurring 'NPC's' that make an appearance (that I will play), and will react to our characters. (You can request to create/play an NPC if you'd like, but you'll have to tell me about them first.)
• This RP will not be overly gory but there may be some unsettling imagery and gross scenes given it's medical focus. (Blood, Vomit, Injury, Needles, Etc.)
•This RP can get a LITTLE sci-fi, especially with all the crazy experimentation. So your character can have some slightly bizarre abilities. (Better hearing. More strength. Unusually fast reflexes. Hyper observant. Etc.) Have fun with it but keep it somewhat realistic! Ask me if you are unsure!
•I'm down for a romantic connection if our characters are similar age and we think they have chemistry, but it's not too much of a focus. (This is ONLY if you are also an adult.)
•Please state your triggers before we start so I know what to avoid!
If you're interested, please DM me directly!

On very, very, rare occasions there may be unexplained, POSSIBLY supernatural events. Minor "environmental" magic. Perhaps implies the existence of a deity or supernatural entity. Or perhaps it's just tricks?
Near future, perhaps cloning and genetic manipulation
Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.
Romance isn't outright desired, but can happen if we decide the characters are perfect for each other. The romance won't be important to the overall plot.
Details: Freeform, paragraphs required, long-term RP partner preferred. Will be played one-on-one.
