If I may ask, as I've heard the term thrown around here and there (and also live mostly under a rock nowadays ;v;) what "cutegore" is? The best understanding I have of it is sanrio media mixed with horror media, but I don't know how broad nor complex of a term it might be.
(I mostly ask because I love just about anything horror related, and personally have a keen interest for gore related media myself 😔)

Cutegore is a way to vent past trauma or super gory/violent experiences with cute characters or chunks of media in an unsettling way. It can also be used as an art form/form of expression. For me, It's the ladder. An example would be a picture of Madoka Kaname (From Madoka Magica) with a cute pink soft border around her, but layered with bloodstains, bones, eyeballs, etc. and disturbing phrases like "Please don't hurt me". It can also be shown in clips of media like cute animes with super gory graphics (like Magical Girl Raising Project ACTUALLY CHECK THIS OUT IT'S SO GOOD) or the MLP Pinkie Pie animations where she kills/tortures everyone.
