A medieval forest, its trees twisted and bare. The noise of feral beasts and monsters fill the air. A heavy fog hovers throughout, and thick vegetation make travel difficult. Despite most of the trees being dead, very little sunlight filters through to ground level. The bones of fallen warriors litter the area - deep, ragged gouges cut in to them, as though they were lashed with branches by something possessed of hideous strength.

"Nyeehhh, god dammit I knew it was a bad idea to go through here!" yelped Grrgrr, cautiously creeping through the forest. His weight shifted, bringing his dented, scrappy armor clanking around too. His walkabout was so far a resounding failure, having only been able to find at best a cave of goblins to torch and a small hamlet to entertain for the night. However, in the morning a load of Paladins just crashed through the town on holy wings of fire, or something, and ran the little Kobold pyromancer out of town. Dicks. And now he was fleeing through a forest most likely filled with killer trees or something, and his pyromancy was useless! Because really, if you're going to use fire in the middle of a forest this thick you aren't smart enough to deserve it in the first place.
A ripping sound of roots being uprooted from the ground is heard, birds scatter from the tree tops as the sound of heavy footsteps and the splintering of wood followed by a roar of rage from deep in the forest. the sounds of wildlife are silenced the forest seems to stand still, a deep billowing fog fills the forest making every tree seem menacing. This being The Twisted Treeline the trees are all frightening here... The only one to worry about though is the monstrous Maokai.
