With most of the major cities in the United States left in shambles after the nukes fell the whole country is in a state of emergency, that is until the real terror came. The dead walking the streets killing all living things that are left alive,it unknown who released such a plague on the citizens of the country. After several years of hiding in a bomb shelter that retired Captain Robert Zimmerman built and stocked up years in advance, before the bombs fell decided to adventure out into the unknown to find any life, armed with his weapons with plenty of ammo and a portable geiger counter.
Robert emerged from his bunker finding everything destroyed and luckily the Geiger counter reading normal closed his hatch latching it at the hitch. Began to leave his home with his m4a1 at the ready walking down the long dirt road,it was a nice sunny day you wouldn't know that the world ended years ago

Tayla crawled alone on the steep crumbled body of an old building. She kept peering around her, a tense look on her narrowed brow as she scanned the horizon. The dusty flat expanse around her felt high and low at the same time, unnerving her. Yet again, everything unnerved her these days. Just a few days past, she had happened upon a graveyard, littered with the bodies of children. She had no clue what happened, but fled before she could have found out.
She arched her back and twisted her torso around, trying to appear large, at the sight of a large malformed dog. She growled in the deep of her throat when she saw its hackles raise. She gripped the side of a concrete slap, the light of her spiked brass knuckles shining on her cheek. If she held her position, she had a good chance of scaring it away. Here eyes locked on the dark brown circles of the beast. And she waited.
A few minutes passed, and the dog began to back away, making small yelping noises as it did so. Tayla smiled, proud that she was able to let the dog go, and went back to the real reason she went to the city's edge. At the very top, she stood on her feet and gaze toward the east. She pulled out a pair of binoculars and spied through them an intact building about ten clicks away from her present location. It appeared absolutely swarmed with the undead, but she knew that there was food there. Despite the terror that filled her throat, she let out a long, high pitched howl and began toward down the hill of rumble toward it.

Once he got down at the end of the long dirt road Robert saw charred and decayed corpses, the safety of his rifle off and set to semi auto at this moment Robert sighted down his acog 4x zoom scope and saw what appeared to be a town in the distance.
After walking for some time Robert finally got to the outskirts of the town, that was when he heard what sounded like a howl in the distance then he heard footsteps coming from infront of him, which he immediately raised his rifle up sighting down the sight again that was when he encountered a new and terrible threat the undead.
Once he found out that the undead roamed this town Robert fired one shot to its head dropping it,when that was done he quickly turned on his radio and immediately began to broadcast "if there is anyone out there on this channel please reply and tell Me when your position I will come try and find you" still keeping his weapon at the ready, sure enough their was more of the undead coming towards him which prompted Robert to change his weapon to full-auto

It had been a long time since Tayla had encountered any regular humans, possible about four or five months. She had picked up a hand held radio and fiddled with it a few times, but usually didn't get any response. She had positioned herself on another building a good klick and a half away from the store. She yelped and fumbled at the radio, as it appeared to have come back to life, and stared at his, listening to the radio "if there is anyone out there on this channel please reply and tell Me when your position I will come try and find you," a male voice said from the radio. Tayla wasn't exactly sure what to do, but she slowly pressed the side button.
"I'm a klick away from the shopping store," she responded. "Why do you want to find me?" she narrowed her eyes. "I knew of this place first. If you try to take this spot from me, I will attack."

Robert changed the push to talk setting to voice activation to continue to speak with the civilian "This is Captain Robert Zimmerman of socom. If it's safe at the area of where you are stay there,I will get there soon" with that reply he quickly attached his quick detach suppressor and began to quickly shoot through the undead in his way.
When Robert arrived at the store he quickly scanned the area shinning his flashlight in the store and scanning the area through his acog scope "miss what's your position, I'm in the area now"

Tayla, bemused, sat for a second before she leaped at the sound of gunfire. She turned and saw a soldier (something she could hardly recognize) shooting blinding through the undead that began to flock toward him. Tayla, seeing this as her opportunity, quickly climbed down off the two story building and shot through to the store, stabbing the undead that were in her way. Upon entry to the building, she scrambled onto one of the tall grocery shelves, keeping as much off the ground as she could. She scanned the entire building as much as she could, listening to the gunfire grow louder and louder outside the building. She discovered as few cans, their print faded, but cold to the touch. There was a chance that whatever was in them didn't spoil. She also found a half bag of rice, which was the most valuable find, but she only took half of it. It's possible, she reasoned, that the person attempting to look for her would have to be swayed into not killing her. She wrapped the quarter brown bag in other empty bags strode out across the aisle floors. Her radio went off again: "miss what's your position, I'm in the area now". She also heard a murmur outside, and suspecting it was him, she crept to the open door and poked her head out.
"Here," she called out, seeing the man turn toward her direction.

Robert heard the woman's voice and almost immediately walked in the store tactically with his weapon pointed at her light still turned on shining it in her eyes " you there have you been bitten or scratched by those things?" Not wanting to approach her unless she's not infected
"No," she said, pointing to her scars. "It's just from wild animals. I don't venture far to towns unless I need food." She pushed forward his share of rice. "Here, take it. I got what I needed." She waited, analyzing the strange character. She hadn't seen a solider like him in a long time, since before the bombs fell.
Hearing Tayla's reply Robert slightly lowered his weapon "come on the undead is very active in this area. Thank you but I've got plenty of food In my bunker. Your welcome to stay in there when night comes,I've got plenty of room" but he was still at the ready just in case he needed to shoot something
"Why are you so generous?" she said, standing up and carrying both her food and what she separated to be his. "How long have you been in your bunker?" She paused, frowning with curiosity. "You don't know much about this new world, do you?"
"I've been on this world for awhile now. Coming in and out of my bunker every other week. And to answer your question to why its because I took an oath to protect the civilians of the united states. Now its not to much to ask we've gotta move" Robert replied then began to point his rifle at the door and begun to walk out onto the streets
A woman's voice clouded in static comes over the radios, on a frequency close enough to be picked up. There was a panicked tone to her voice "Zoya? Zoya! I heard gunfire near the old mall in your sector? Is everything okay? Z-Zoya? Is your radio off again? Zoya someone else is heading to the mall. I heard a little chatter. Leave your sector and get back to the church okay?" Back inside the mall the same transmission echos clearly through the halls from among the fallen zombies.
Robert heard the voice over the radio which caused him to reply "identify yourself, this is Captain Robert Zimmerman" as motions for Teyla to follow him while he covers them both
Tayla, despite every bit of instinct, nodded and followed the stranger. She didn't ever use a gun against the undead, and seeing it intimidated her. Maybe, she reasoned, hang with him for a little while until she was safe out of the city or until a firm alliance was made wit this man.
The woman didn't reply for several long moments, though once again the radio among the zombies in the mall echoed with questions. Finally her voice came through clear on Zimmerman's channel "You're the one I heard. Call me Red. I'll get straight to the point. You've stumbled onto my friends observation point. Did you...did you kill him? I won't hold it against you, that's just how it goes. But I still have to inform his people. He had a family. I'm sure they'd like to know."
At her post in the old church, Hazel was busy packing away her gear. If Zoya really was dead then her contract was over. She'd send word of his death and move on. Depending on how the current conversation went, she considered possibly hitching herself to this Zimmerman fellow...from a distance.

He continued to walk out of the area with Tayla in tow shooting any zombie that is in their direct way" ok red. Describe your friend please". As the two quickly made their way to an abandoned car dealership and he turns to Tayla "here take this and only use it when you need to" he said as he handed her a small compact 9mm handgun, as they looked for some keys to one of the vehicle's there
"Roger roger!" Tayla said playfully, but grew uneasy holding the gun. She immediately put its safety on and put it in the largest pocket of her cargo pants. "I'm pretty good without it with the undead. It's people I worry about these days." They had gotten the keys to a Ford truck of some sort, perfect for navigating heavy terrain. She even knew where they could get gas when they run out.
"Six foot give or take. White with brown hair...think beach bum? Like in those old CD movies yeah? Anyways, I'm calling my contract finished. This city can't be reclaimed, not for a long time. Nobel plan. trying to recl-" there was silence for several moments before Red comes back on "A very large pack just came by me. Something has them stirred up. What's your actual position? It's not safe here anymore for me."
Robert quickly got in the truck and turned it over as he opened the passenger side door to await for Tayla to get in "were approximately 2 blocks south from the church" Robert replied to red. When tayla got in the vehicle he said to red "what's your pos?. I will be heading to get you asap"
He had been watching from a window when the pack had started to gather, and knew that there were people down there. Starved of food and extremely fatigued, Drake hoped that perhaps if he helped them they would provide him with some food. He's done it a couple times before, helping other people, but they always tried to kill him when he wasn't looking. So instead he killed them and would continue on his way. Hopefully this group would be nicer. He picked up his two Beretta's and began to climb to the roof.
