So Christmas is coming and I want some Colored Pencils! And.. I just don't know which brand is better. I think the Prismacolor pencils are nice but I want some opinions

*Shakes head solemnly* I wish I had this many colored pencils.

I have a pretty vast collection of Prisma coloured pencils -- I haven't used them recently, but I do remember being enthralled with their vibrancy. Unfortunately, I don't really have much experience using colour pencils outside of the Primsa colour pencils (unless you want to count Crayola and RoseArt), so I couldn't really say.
My dad had a nice collection of Zebra coloured pencils that I remember him using when I was growing up -- I remember them, because their packaging always fascinated me when I was younger. It was a zebra print box, and that was spectacular to me as a toddler. I've also seen him use them during my years, and I know he prefers them.
From what I have seen, the Zebra colour pencils have a kind of pastel look to them, but then again, my father was never an artist that pressed hard when using his tools -- he always valued the longevity of his items by making sure to treat them gently.

I'll be the first to admit that my colored pencil game isn't nearly as strong as my other media, but I have a small handful of Prismacolors and they seem to be high quality. (I'm just so nervous about pressing down hard enough to get a good solid line. And I can never sharpen them without breaking the leads!)
But if you ask any casual artist about colored pencil recommendations, they'll tell you "Prismacolors." That said, I guarantee there are other lesser known brands out there that are just as good. I know prismas are pretty good for blending, which makes them valuable for realism, but if you're intending to try a flat or cell shaded look, maybe you don't need them. Good luck in your quest!
