Cheshire (played by Sp8ders) Topic Starter

Cheshire scanned the bar, her eyes going over each of the patrons before stopping on the cloaked figure. The same figure with the name Leka on it, lucky for her he doesn't seem to be hiding from her. She gave the male a small little wave, a motion for him to sit back down.

Before even thinking on engaging this, she stopped by the bar and leaned over, pulling the mask up to reveal her face to him. The barkeep in turn looked up and smile. "Ah kitten, how's it goin? The usual?" Cheshire gave a small nod in response. "Here for a client?" Goodness the barkeep is acting friendly. "You know it doll, Don't mind if I do business here do you?" Cheshire out the last word in a sort of purr. The barkeep shrugged. "Hasn't stopped you before. Anyways, Apocalyptic Overdrive on the house. To thank you for taking care of that.... Trash last week." The barkeep pushed over an, obviously heavily alcoholic drink in a large glass mug. She raised it in a form of a salute and took a swig before making her way over to Leka and plopped down.

"Alright kid, I'm going to be straight with you. I've been having one hell of a day. So let's make this quick." She took another swig from the drink. She wasn't even trying to put up the tough girl act. Not like she needs it, she has this, aura of badassery.

He turned the anonymity on as soon as she sat down with him, scanning the tavern before turning to face her.

"Thank you for meeting with me," he said, barely audible. The volume of his voice, his fidgeting figure, the rhythmic tap tap tap of his fingers- it was clear that he was nervous.

But what could have possibly made him so anxious? They worked well together. She came to meet with him. They were... friends, at most, acquaintances at least. What was so different?

He was... a freak, now. It seemed fitting that in the virtual world he become the despised monster he knew he was inside. Surely, there was a good price in the head of any Obsidai wandering around.

So what the hell was he doing?

He was placing trust in her. Trust. The one thing he couldn't find anywhere... but in his sister. She said he should expand his inner circle beyond her and Kali.

He sighed.

"I need somewhere to live," he said, tugging on his hood. "Somewhere to train. Somewhere to... hide."

He paused. This was it. He took his communication device, typed in a few words and hunched over, waiting.

TO: CHESHIRE

I'm Obsidai.

SENT
Nano (played by robinnrose)

Meanwhile O30 was on the phone, a message was also sent to Silent's end, which he took a moment to reply back. The party invitation appeared on both of their screen. Silence glanced at Silent for indication. Silent nodded and pressed it. The two accepted the party invitation and joined the party. Silent went to change out his inventory. The kimono he wore last time, which was during the battle that turned him a female with stats of a level 30, was black this time, not brightful colors. The kimono shifted and settle down into lab setting attires, which included a labcoat. His appearance also changed. Feminine. He also wore black rimmed glasses. His hair became long and tied back into a ponytail. His eyes turned normal gray. His name and stats also changed. RestlessNight, level 50, and class: Berserk Scientist. She spoke, "This should do." Silent also brought a reinforced steel briefcase with him....or her.

Meanwhile Silence also changed out her clothes into a selection of somewhat post apoc business oriented. Gray camo pants, black jacket, gray white shirt, with a cloak over it. On her back with a sling was a lever action shotgun. "I'm good to go. i haven't been to the city throughly as of yet. It would be great to show me around."

Edit: The two guided O30 to the teleport room. "This should bring us to the city instantly" Silent said, "Shall we head off?"

Cheshire looked down at the message that appeared in front of her hud. Looking it up at Leka, then back down she read it, looked up, then back down. Her face was written with disbelief, then a soft sigh escaping her lips.

Great, she's dealing with an outcasted frankenstien's monster now.

Cheshire nodded her head softly. Thinking for a moment. "Hm.... You need a place to train, far away from both the common public and the obsidai? I, suppose I can offer you a place.... As, payment to my debt during W.O.M." Cheshire looked over her shoulder, scanning the crowd. It was a common habit by now, never trust the enemy in this world, you never know when they'll try and put a bullet in your brain.

Cheshire took another swig of her drink, before looking back to Leka. "Alright, there maybe one thing you can do for me. Buy me another Apocalyptic Overdrive." With that, she downed the rest of her drink.
The Lees (played by KhaeosMage)

He blinked.

He opened his mouth, closed it, then leant back a little to the wall. "Just a drink?" he asked. It wasn't in disbelief, not even mocking- just- confused.

Did he... do something for her before?

"I don't know what I did to make you think you have a debt to pay," he said. If his mask was off, Cheshire might have laughed at how awkward he looked, eyes dancing from one thing to another, eyebrows furrowed and lips formed in a perplexed pout. "But..." he paused, took a deep breath... and looked straight at her.

"Thank you," he whispered, and the words were sincere and his voice didn't waver. "I appreciate you coming to help me, especially with me..." he winced.

He sighed, then shook his head. He waved over a waiter, handing over some money. "One Apocalyptic Overdrive please," he said. Once the waiter went to get the drink he turned back to the feline assassin. "What's the place you have in mind?" he asked, tone low for only Cheshire to hear.
O30 (played by coke_monster)

"Looking spiffy." O30 nodded approvingly to their choice of attire. He was slightly awed by the kimono's effects, never having gotten an explanation for why it'd belonged to Silent back in that RV so long ago. This one was a different color from back then, but definitely the same one. The next thing to catch him off guard was the mention of a “teleport room”.

"You have all the fun toys, huh?"

The three lovely ladies of the post apocalypse warped out of Mt. Hideout...

INNER PARADISO
32722206562_55974f21d1_b.jpg

...and exploded into existence on a busy street of Paradiso. A circle of players stumbled in confusion at the appearance of sudden spike in electrical energy waves, and of course the sudden existence of the three where there hadn't been anyone.

"Nothing to see here. Just logged on." O30 waved their curiosity. All but one older looking Striker player left it at that and carried on their way. This one narrowed his eyes, knowing logging in wasn't that abrupt or disruptive. O30 was fast to correct that. "I SAID BEAT IT." She flashed a holographic guild badge, playing on the fear the Enforcers had. The Striker marched on after that.

O30 grinned a proud grin, lowering her voice to the sharply dressed Silence, and exotically disguised Silent. "This way, ladies. Try not to kill anyone until I show you where my favorite escape routes are.”

The Quiet couple were privy to the sights and sounds of the city. The avid gamer that was their tour guide gave them a lengthy walk down the various squares of alien buildings. The night was bright with the logos of the kingpin guilds running the show. Drones buzzed above bustling streets of roaming players and coded NPCs. An android just starting out begged for bullets or credits outside an AmmoNation. A couple of heavily modded Berserkers were giving up their Old World battle axes to enter a Cred-Casino for some expensive fun. Recruiters were on every corner, selling promises for service to the city.

“Ya new to Bullet Fuse, Silence?” O30 strolled like she owned the place. “Your playtime is real short, but I get the feel you already know what’s up.”

They came to rest at Board Park, a hang out spot for players to test various hoverboards. There were several other parties milling about, many preforming tricks to post highlight vids later. Just a block away were the remains of a recently destroyed Spire. The entire block was swarmed with yellow tape and service NPCs cleaning the wreckage.

O30 jutted her chin to the scene. “Lady left quite the mess. I missed it too, had I just stayed in the city for another day. Maaaaan… Well. Anywhere in particular you two need seeing? I can’t show you the inside of an Enforcement Station unless I arrest you, but I don’t think we want that.” She chuckled.
Nano (played by robinnrose)

Silence looked on, she was cautious about the surroundings while Silent just walked leisurely to the destination. Her hands were always near her weapon but at a natural pose. Silent had his hands in the labcoat. There were several looks from people due to the obvious appearance of the white lab coat.

Silence replied back to O30's comment, "I strolled around Paradiso for an hour before doing stuff. So, I know the city a bit."

When the two arrived at the location, Silent looked around at the disaster, "I guess she's still around." He said, "Well O30, I do not mind that. I just need to grab something from their storage lockers and drop this thing off there as well." Silence took a glance at him.

Edited v.2
Cheshire (played by Sp8ders) Topic Starter

Cheshire tapped the table, rhythmic and constant. 1-2-3 & 4. Over and over again with the cybernetic claw like fingers.

Meanwhile in her free hand, she took the glass that was offered to her by her new found companion raised it up and chugged the majestic beast down in a few gulps. Sighing as the mug was placed down, half of it's content was missing.

"You may not know it, but you scored me one of the best items anyone has ever layed eyes upon. Really got me out of some jams. Like the incident in the diner." She points to the TV that was blaring news of just that, the diner.

Cheshire crossed her leg over the other and leaned back, her eyes scanning the bar over and over again.

She did, however answer the question Leka brought up. "I own a warehouse out in the badlands, I use it for trying out my new toys, but it has the perfect space for you to practice. Granted, I won't be able to help you much."
The Lees (played by KhaeosMage)

He flicked his eyes up toward the TV, taking in the site of the… wrecked diner. Holy crap. “So some sort of wea-“ he stopped, stared, then turned back to Cheshire, wide eyed behind the mask.

Holy $#&%.

Time manipulation.

“That’s really useful,” he blurted out. He quieted as she scanned the bar, taking the time to look around himself. He turned back to look at her. Having her as an acquaintance… he was damn lucky, wasn’t he.

"I own a warehouse out in the badlands, I use it for trying out my new toys, but it has the perfect space for you to practice. Granted, I won't be able to help you much.”

“That’s alright. You offering me a place to stay is more than enough,” he said. He stared at his gloved hand, clenching it into a shaky fist. “It won’t be the first time I learn about myself.”

The wryness in his voice was unmistakable. He abruptly straightened, making a slight gesture with his now open hand. “Shall we go, ma’am?”
O30 (played by coke_monster)

O30 spotted the tense glance the new acquaintance shot "RestlessNight". This along with the contents of that case had her curiosity absolutely boiling over. She managed to keep it in check, careful not to ask too many questions here out in public.

Her pocketed hands spread her jacket open as she shrugged. "I can get you inside a Guild Vault. It’ll be waaay harder to get out, but I’d guess you already knew that.”

A stark white P.E. Patrol Car suddenly pulled out of traffic to park on a nearby bench. Luckily no one had been sitting on it, and luckily none of the debris that exploded forth from it being crushed struck anyone a clean critical hit to the head. One hover-boarder with a green Mohawk was clutching his stomach in pain, though. O30 didn’t notice. She was inexplicably wearing a sharp black cap complete with wide brimmed shades and white gloves. She went over and swung open a heavily customized backseat once meant for criminals. It'd been refitted with lavish seats, beverages, and several foot massagers, as if the car were just a mini limo and she was the professional driver. That was technically what an Operator’s role was, but she was clearly making a show of it.

“Step inside, ladies.” O30 bowed. “Oh, but you will need to wear these.” She produced a pair of shockcuffs.

P.E. SPIRE #04: SPADA DELLA GIUSTIZIA

The lobby was disgustingly mundane. Clean. Proper. There was even a fake plant like every office building has. It all reminded her of an actual police station. The only difference being the emblem plastered on every wall, uniform and coffee mug was completely fictional.

The three marched through it with little resistance, Silence and RelentlessNight both handcuffed and O30 led the charge. “Bagged some tourists just came into town. Fighting in the city like savages. Gonna throw them in a cell till for an hour.” Was the bogus excuse she’d given, Silent’s briefcase in hand.

The glorified receptionist had nodded the go ahead. Worst mistake that day.

Several floors down, well below the detainment cells and the rest of the building came a vault. A Guild Vault. Not too much unlike the many doors Silent used for his hideout, the Enforcer’s Vault was grand with many layers of steel protection. It’d take many days of dynamite to pop this sucker… but a holo-badge did the trick for the first room. Even the lowly Lieutenants were allowed to come down here and gear themselves to fight crime with stuff displayed in the storage room. Good thing she’d just been promoted.

O30 unlocked the digitally locked shockcuffs from her party members, pocketing them in her jacket. She strolled inside the room, not too impressed with the armaments. Riot gear, shields, gas weaponry, stun gauntlets, side arms. It was all massed produced gear by another top guild who ran the city, the ones who held all of the scientists and engineers.

“The good stuffs all behind the second and who-knows-how-many layers of security. So this will have to do.” She turned to confront the two. “So… gonna tell me what’s in the case?" She waved it in the air, offering it to any one of them to take it back if they wanted. "Or… would you rather show me?”
Nano (played by robinnrose)

Silent complied with whatever was requested. Silence followed his lead. Once arriving at the vault. He took the briefcase and opened it. He gestured the open briefcase. The briefcase was filled to the brim with an unique kind of bomb. Wires and liquid. "There's enough explosive to blow up the facility, regardless of reinforcement. Kinetic pulse weapon." he said as he brought out a teleportation device, it was small. Silence began grabbing the equipment and tossing it at the device. The device warps the equipment away. "It only teleports equipment" he explained, "So we have to walk out the front door."

Reboot successful

Thea awoke on the ground, groaning.

Well I've invested a lot into this.... Hopefully the payout will make it all worth it....
If my systems are really booted properly, I should be able to -

Thea attempted to jump to her feet. What resulted was not what she wanted, as she ended up more of like jumping straight up to her feet then nose diving back towards the dirt.

Damnit. I hope there aren't so many other players around. It seems my equipment isn't being so.... cooperative.
Maybe if I just give the coolant enough time to kick in, the hardware will be able to catch up with my commands.

Systems primed. Ready to operate!

Thea hit the mute button. Not like anyone else could hear, this being directly beamed into her cerebellum.

I just get tired of hearing it sometimes....
Cheshire (played by Sp8ders) Topic Starter

Cheshire nodded her head. Downing the rest of the drink before placing it on the table. Her eyes looking to the back of the room. Something seems fishy about the two men chatting. They have non stop stared at her for a good full minute.

She gently tapped Leka's shoulder before tugging on her cloak's hood. Placing it over her head. Mouthing the words, follow my lead.

With that, she stood up and gave the bartender a little wave with her cybernetic limb. He simply waved back before returning to what he was doing, his eyes slowly traveling to the men at the table.

Keeping Leka close to her, she brought her voice down to a whisper. "Keep your name on anonymous, the two in the back might be hunting me and last thing I want is you to be attacked. If they attack first, run. Go for the central garden in upper Paradiso. Hopefully, we won't have to deal about that."
Thea L Wraith (played by MrUnholy)

I think its been long enough now.

With that, Thea sat up. She waited for a moment, half expecting a jerk or some sort of protest from the system.

Nothing.

Thea then proceeded to stand. No jerks, no errors, no loud beeps.

Finally. Its about time.

Shall I proceed to scan the area surrounding?[/i]

... Yes. That seems like a good idea. I don't really want to have to wait another three days to play again. Pay special attention to those with the intention of PVP please.

Understood, beginning scan.

An invisible laser began sweeping the surroundings, analyzing terrain and searching for potential foes.

((Great time to interact if anyone's interested))

Catherine (played by Raider-jack29)

He was finally on the move, he had left the alley way amongst the backroads. He moved amongst the crowds, slowly making his way to certain stalls and observing the various items on sale as if he weren’t a wanted criminal.

Eventually though, he had to move on from the area. The city itself stank of pollution and sweat, so he moved to the outskirts and began to make his way through the desert of the badlands. The winds were horrible this time of year ever since the game was given natural seasons a few weeks back, a ridiculous mod for sure that he often complained about.

What he didn’t expect however was to spot a lone figure in the distance that from the sounds of it, was very much metal. A lost android player perhaps
“Hey buddy, don’t you know it’s dangerous out here alone?”
He shouted out to the figure in the distance.”
O30 (played by coke_monster)

O30 squinted, very much lost on what had occured. "Okay. You just teleported a Kinetic Pulse bomb... where exactly?" The high security Guild Vault suddenly felt very unsafe.

They left out the exact same way they'd came, only this time O30 was a bit more hurried. The same guard at the front called for why the "detainees" were being let out so soon when they'd just arrived.

"Oh you know... I just wanted to go easy on them. Dont worry about it! Everything's fine-"

And out the door they went. O30 waited until they were back in the patrol car before questioning the two again.

"Okay. Where did you put that bomb? And should I be flooring it right now?"
Nano (played by robinnrose)

While they hurried out, Silence was still cautious where she was but finally relaxed when gotten into the car. "Floor it" Silence ordered. Once out the vicinity, perhaps a half mile away or so, Silent brought out a detonater and pressed the button. All sound went silent for a second before an explosion was heard. The enforcement building was blown from inside out. Parts of the wall and everything was going at every outward direction. The building self was no longer there as parts of the building were destroying nearby buildings. Where the building sat was now just a floor.

"All right. It's done. Where shall we head off now? My business for today is done." Silent asked.
Thea L Wraith (played by MrUnholy)

Unit sighted. Likelyhood of hostility: Minimal. Combat request.

Combat request denied.

Looks at the other player.

Now yelling back,

"Yeah of course I'm aware! I've been playing enough to know the ropes! I just respawned, I'm trying to get a decent footing."

I hope that said individual is truly non-hostile. Looking at my energy reserves I think I might have just enough to escape but that's it.... Full blown combat would be suicide right now...
O30 (played by coke_monster)

The concussive explosion was distinct, even now a mile out. Dozens of reinforced windows of the nearest Spires shattered to rain down on panicking players of Paradiso. Countless players were instantly downed with many more being temp-banned as their characters were crushed under the distant collapsing structure. The UAV hover-copter surveillance drones normally patrolling the city were all deployed. Dozens swarmed the dust with countless rays of scanning red cones with more and more arriving on the scene by the second. They spread out quickly, tazing and detaining any and all survivors. They were searching, combing the city automatically whilst Player Enforcers from other Spires scrounged to do the same.

Back in their getaway vehicle, O30 stared the callous delivery Silent gave. It was as if he had just finished dropping off some mail or got done with groceries. She looked at the both of them slack jawed for many seconds before bursting into an elderly wheeze of laughter, the road completely forgotten yet somehow expertly weaving through traffic.

“Pfffffffffft-ahahHAHAHAAHA!” She slapped the dashboard as she took in what they’d already committed not even an hour into arriving. “Aaaah… You’re terrible. We’re terrible. This is what this game should be like… exciting! But man. You know a lot of players are going to be mad right about now. I mean A LOT! Like those.”

Still turned around facing them, she pointed lazily to the half dozen armed UAVs tailing them just visible out of the rear window. They were coming straight for them, perhaps recognizing that the patrol car was the last to leave ground zero. The Tinkers really knew how to build them smart.

“Well... they aren't exactly players, but still. Think you can take care of those?” The designated driver went back to the wheel, punching the pedal even further to the metal.
