His face was still a little pink when the little phoenix arrived at his porch with her mother. When he saw her his head tilted to one side and he offered a kind smile. His eyes were glowing warmly with emotions he wasn't used to...she was pricelessly adorable and his heart melted at just the sight of her. "Why hello little one, aren't you just the most adorable thing ever." he says softly. He noticed she was nervous by the twitchy flutter of her wings. "No need to be afraid, I'm the scariest thing here but I'm not so bad right?" he wanted to cringe at what he'd just said but he was trying to comfort the poor thing, she wouldn't know about his dark and gruesome past so he wouldn't appear to be so bad...he hoped. "Take whatever you like, plenty more stocked up inside so don't be shy~" he says with a gesture towards the treats.
He sat back, his own black wings pressed against the cushion on the back of his rockingchair. Whatever she grabbed would most definitely include a stray black feather which would cling to one of her treats until she dropped them in her pillowcase. If she wanted to take what was left in his bowl then he had plenty more inside so he invited the girl to take as much as she wanted.

Charlotte quietly nodded in understanding when he said to take what she wanted. She timdly reached out and took a small handful of candy and dropping it into her bag, though she stared in wonder at the black feather that seemingly clung to her candy when she had picked the treat out. She looked up at the man, a small, shy smile on her face as she uttered a timid "T-tankoo. H-happy Hawwoween" before heading off with her mother to another house.
