The creature clutched its head upon the noise within its head: Loud enough to burst its ear drums. Unfortunately, there was nothing so merciful- The noise was being projected directly to the part of the brain that processed sounds. The miserable noise just kept going.
Two bullets made impact. The first hit its incredibly thick skull, which caused the creature to scream out in pain.
The second went straight through the torso, emerging from the other side. The creature glared at Kenneth, then Amy, and then it fell over and died.
Kenzie merely clutched onto Kenneth for support, allowing him to drag her wherever they needed to go. Then another member of the Infected swooped down and grabbed her, flinging her up into the air. This one had wings, and it dove again, this time targeting Kenneth.
Kenzie had a 12-story drop ahead of her.

Amy breathed a sound of relief as the infected threat toppled over, dying with a look in it's eyes that suggested dislike for Kenneth and Amy, she was fine with him hating her. She could live with that.
As she was celebrating their immediate survival however, an infected swooped in, tossing Kenzie into the air, and then turning back to do the same to Kenneth.
To solidify herself as the worlds most effective one trick pony, she would try to distract this one in the same manner as the other, all the while running desperately for where the girl had been tossed, in hopes she could do something... anything...

Kenzie continued to fall fast. 50 feet in the air. 45 feet. 30 feet. 10 feet. Surprisingly enough, the girl was screaming like a person falling to their death. Amy was about to reach Kenzie when FOOM, A massive Infection tendril shot up and met her in mid-air. Kenzie's back arched in a way that wasn't really natural for a human being- That was mainly due to the spike going straight through her torso. The spike lingered for a moment, and then retracting as fast as it shot up: Like a bullet. Kenzie was crushed by the velocity as the last of the tendril once again disappeared beneath the pavement of the increasingly deteriorating city.
It was obvious Kenzie was dead when you looked at her: Her body was practically a burn mark, her skull was bashed in, there was a giant hole going through her lower middle torso, and her jumpsuit was torn all over.
Readouts on the HUD would tell you that the entire area was covered in Infection. That giant tendril might be a clue.

Amy skidded to halt as Kenzie was so brutally destroyed before her eyes. She wouldn't try to save her further. She was lost, and that was all there was to it. Amy had lost too many people to let it affect her greatly, but no matter how many times you saw one of those giant infected spikes rip a person open, it was still disturbing to watch.
She would turn on her heel and start looking immediately for the others, specifically Kenneth, who she suspected may have been the only other one left alive. She didn't like her chances alone. This was beginning to feel a little like a suicide mission to her.
