Rae fell to the ground, only if she could explain what was happening. This wasn't truly helping them out, it was also helping her mother. She closed her eyes, knocked out. Now she'd be back where she was, in a lab getting tested. To think, she might have liked Hunter. It was all gone, now replaced with hate and sorrow. She began the fight with her mom in her mind.

Hunter stood up. "Mark," he was on the radio, "Code 32, send a car." There was an acknowledgement and then radio silence. It was on its way. He looked to the one in blue. "Greg, do you think they can still get a service punishment?" Greg shrugged. It was entirely up to them.

A jeep arived after a bit and they loaded the two up. It took them back to the garage at the house. They were unloaded and placed inside a large circle that took up the whole left side of the garage, leaving the side with the door available. This circle was actually a ring created by smaller circles on the floor, then cubes above. There was a raised platform that was in the center, which they were on. Once everyone was clear Mark pressed a button and beams came out of each, creating bars along the edges and a cross work patern above. The platform itself was too heavy to move even if they were able to get off of it. It was attatched to the ground. There were four pillows and four blankets stacked neatly next to them for when they awoke later that night.

None of the Custodians wanted to be there when they did so they closed it all down, hooked a generator up to the garage door, electrifying it, and double locked the door leading into the garage. Hunter went to bed after grabbing a beer, something he'd never done since he was actually quite a responsible drinker. Alyssa looked rather worried about Hunter. Mark and Greg stood guard.

Rae laid on the ground, she didn't want to move. She kept her eyes closed, but pulled her knees up to herself. The clothes she wore were beaten up from all the fighting. She hadn't sleep in a day or so. No one will care if I leave this place. A smile slid across her face as she got cold again. Only her heart would keep her alive. She wanted to say something to Isobel and Hunter.

When Isobel awoke some time later, she groaned. Her head was pounding and her mouth was dry. She got up on her hands and knees and wondered how she'd gotten on the floor. She stood up with her hands in front of her, walking forward and hoping to somehow make it to the kitchen and get a glass of water. She froze when her hands touched the bars trapping her and Rae inside. She frantically started following the bars, searching for an opening, a way out. No, no, no, no, no! She had no I idea if she'd been saying it or thinking it. When she realized they were in a cage, she fell down hard, hugging herself. Suddenly, she was transported back to the days when she'd been kept in a cage like this, albeit a lot smaller, and not near as nicely furnished.

She really started hyperventilating now. Tears leaked out where her eyes should have been and she was rocking back and forth. Years of trauma she'd tried to forget flooded back now. She remembered every scream, every bloody test subject, every time she'd been roughly shoved into the cage. There was no way she could sleep now, and she'd have no grasp of how long had passed. In her mind, she was living in the past, over and over again. The smiling doctors that she'd trusted. The millions of needles they stuck her with. The operation on her eyes.

Hunter entered the garage unsteadily. He had a brown back with two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in it. He walked, or swayed, to the edge and pushed it through the bars before stumbling away. He was clearly intoxicated. Back in the house Alyssa had slept in a guest room while Mark and Greg took turn sleeping on the couch while the other one stood watch. They were up now and kept out of hunters way, even Alyssa.

Rae suddenly woke up, her emerald eyes looking around the room. She had heard footsteps and woke up. Rae saw Isobel, feeling a bit sad for her. She heaved herself up and walked towards Isobel. When she was next to her, she placed her hand on Isobel's shoulder. Only then she noticed Hunter, she would talk to him later. Rae couldn't read any aura, she couldn't really figure out how to calm her down.. Wait.. At the forest Isobel was there. Maybe I could sing to calm her down.

Rae started to sing the song in the forest. "Have you ever heard a wolf howl to the blue moon? Have you ever asked a grinning bobcat why he grinned? " She softly started getting softer. Now she stood up walking torwards Hunter. " Hunter, let me explain why you thought we 'ran away'. I wanted to be in the forest, I usual don't stay in a house, I'm in the forest. My moms been hurting me lately so I wanted to go to my home, the forest. " She didn't want to get into details.

Isobel stopped rocking back and forth when Rae started singing. It was just as beautiful as it had been in the forest. She slowly came back to her senses, realizing she wasn't in any type of lab at all, at least not at the moment. No! Not in the future either! She'd die before she went back. She stiffly uncurled herself and wiped away the tear stains on her face. Her mouth was still parched and dry though, and she couldn't trust herself to talk. Isobel sniffed and wrinkled her nose. Hunter had definitely been drinking. She listened to Rae's explanation. Well, that explains the darkness of the songs...

"I-" Isobel's voice cracked and she cleared her throat best as she could before starting again. "I was having trouble sleeping." She said quietly, feeling that she should offer some sort of explanation as well. "I'm sorry, I didn't think to let anyone know." She fell silent after that.

Hunter left without acknowledging them. He wasn't in the mood. Once inside he went into his room. Greg came out with two bottled waters, still wearing his suit. He set them on the edge of the circle and walked away. No words were exchanged by either passer byers.

Isobel hadn't really expected an answer, but her shoulders still slumped in disappointment when he left without a word. She opened a water bottle and started sipping at it, but didn't touch the food. Her stomach roiled with nerves and lurking hysteria. She had to distract herself or she might go insane. "Why does your mom want to hurt you?" She asked quietly.

Rae took her water, she didn't drink or eat. She just wanted to starve. Her emerald green eyes looked at Isobel as she asked the question. She was happy that someone was talking to her, her mother would talk to her. She didn't like this question exactly. She looked away. " I broke a promise. In the forest, my mother tried to make me kill you. She wants me to also kill Hunter, but sadly I can't. I would tell you a secret, but I don't know... "

Isobel nodded in understanding. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." She rolled the bottle in her hands. "I'm glad I wasn't the only one missing outside. Guess you can take the girl out of the woods, but can't take the woods out of the girl." She offered a small smile and used a blanket to make a softer place to sit down. She avoided touching the bars of the cage.

Rae didn't talk for myself. " I nearly killed myself.. " She said softly. Her emerald eyes looking at the bars, she did not smile. Her whole body looked like stone. She placed her hand on the ground. " I thought Hunter... Ugh.. It's to confusing. " She stood up, walking to another side, and she sat in the corner. She slowly started singing, " There's a grief that can't be spoken. There's a pain goes on and on. Empty chairs at empty tables. Now my friends are dead and gone. " Rae was always alone in the woods, she used to have friends. They were killed by hunters, that's one reason she hated them.

Rae's hands almost touched the bar, she wouldn't sleep. She would probably just stay up all night. She hated being in here, she didn't like being called cupcake or being called supernatural. Was it so bad that she liked to go into the forest? She didn't like the city, she liked the forest.

Isobel hugged her arms close to her body. She listened to Rae's singing. It was sad but beautiful. "Maybe it's naive of me, but I don't think he's that bad. Except for the cage. I'd rather have anything other than a cage." She sighed. Isobel thought for a moment and asked a question she wasn't sure she wanted the answer to. "What do you think will happen now?" She said quietly, almost so that no one could hear.

Rae stopped singing, looking over her shoulder. Her strawberry blonde hair fell in place. She turned, deciding she'd lighten up the mood. " Well.. It seems Hunter has a soft spot for you. " She said grinning, " He'll probably let you go. I don't think he'd ever put you in a lab again. " She said, her emerald eyes full of worry. " For me... " She looked down, her strawberry blonde hair covering her emerald eyes. She didn't speak, just looked at her hand. " I'll probably be killed. " This wasn't surprising for her.

Isobel gave a weak smile at Rae's reassurances. She knew she was the youngest person there at 16 years old, but she'd never really felt like it until now. It did give her a little relief to hear that Rae thought she wouldn't be going back to the lab. Then she heard Rae's next words, "I'll probably be killed."

Isobel looked straight in her direction. "No." She said, her voice filled with grim determination. "I won't leave you behind to die. Just like I didn't back at the hospital. Or the woods." She couldn't stand the thought of Rae dying. She was the closest thing to a friend she had, with Hunter right behind in some weird frenemy position.

Rae looked up, moving her hair from her eyes. " Are you sure? " She had a lot to thank Isobel for. She saved her from the lab, took her to the forest, and stayed with her the whole time. She even carried her back, well at least before the gang came. She gave a small smile to her, " Thank you. "

"Of course I'm sure." Isobel drank the last of her water and twisted the cap back on it. "We 'supernaturals' have stick together, don't we?" She was almost able to convince herself that they weren't sitting in a cage, and were instead just staying up late talking, like in a sleep over.

Rae smiled, she tugged at her shirt. " I've had enough of wearing torn clothes. " She said. Her emerald eyes looked at the bars. She looked at Isobel, " Are you actually going to go to sleep tonight? '

Isobel shook her head. "I doubt it." She wasn't sure she wanted to sleep. At the best of times, her nightmares were spotty, and now she was inside a cage. There'd be no way she'd get any real rest from sleeping.

Rae touched the ground, drawing a star. " What should we do? " Rae said touching the ground. Her emerald eyes looked at her, a smile sliding across her face. Rae was one to listen to music. " I got my ticket for the long way round. Two bottle whiskey for the way. And I sure would like some sweet company, and I'm leaving tomorrow, what do you say? " She grinned.
