Rae softly growled, she couldn't help herself but growl when people talked. Imagine when the assessment started. She looked at the bars, wanting to just touch it. She pulled her bangs down over her eyes, she wanted to just run. Her emerald eyes looked into the shadows.
Isobel's face softened. "We'll try Hunter." Yeah, it wasn't like their lives or freedom being endangered was enough motivation already. She remembered how excited she'd been envisioning herself doing the same work Hunter did, having purpose. She wouldn't really mind the service work too much.
Cars were heard pulling up. "They're here." Hunter stood up, put the chair away, and nodded to them before going back inside. His voice rang out as he talked to his co workers. "They're here. Look alive guys."
Rae walked towards Isobel, sighing. " I hate him.. " She said, putting her hand on her shoulder. " Don't worry you'll pass. " She smiled, then turned. She looked at the bars, then at the door. They didn't speak very soft up there. Her emerald eyes watched the door close, she felt like something wasn't going to go on right
"You'll pass too." Isobel offered her a smile. She wasn't exactly sure how she'd pass when she was blind, but Rae seemed to have faith in her. She felt herself wishing she at least had her dagger, with the comfort of some safety it brought.

Rae drew another star on the ground. She felt for any weapons, nothing. " I would probably do better if I could go outside... " She said. She didn't feel very good. Her head was starting to ache and her stomach was nervous. She began to pace back and forth, thinking.

Everything was quiet for a minute. Anyone that paid attention to the hairs on the back of their neck would know something is wrong, just not what exactly. No doors opened, no doors shut. Then the car engines were cut.

Rae looked at the door, she walked as close as she could to the bars. Her emerald eyes stared at them, but they looked at the door again. What was happening?.. She felt a boiling anger in her, she realized that Hunter didn't try to stop these people. He just let them come and then assess them.

The silence pounded against Isobel's ears, or maybe that was her blood rushing in her ears. For a moment, she thought she might have gone deaf too, but then Rae walked towards the bars. She felt comforted by her presence, knowing she wouldn't be facing this alone.
Silence broke at the same time the walls splintered around them and gun fire roared at every ear. The walls and doors splintered as holes opened up in them. It couldn't be seen where the shots were coming from. Hunter burst through the door, shoulder breaking it in half. He came to a sliding stop as he yanked a cord on the circle and the bars phased out. "Keep low!" He shouted at the girls. He got up and went onto the circle, kneeling above them in protection. His suit was completely on, including helmet, as he sprayed the garage door with his high tech rifle.
Greg called from within. "We're holding! Get them out of here!"
Hunter called back, "I'm on it!" Then he looked at the girls. "Get to the basement, NOW!"

Isobel jumped at the gunfire. Was this a part of the assessment? Weird. Then Hunter came busting in, though there probably wasn't a problem with the door knob. ((Aint nobody got time for that!)) There was definitely something wrong here. Weren't these people supposed to be on the same side? She felt relief when the bars disappeared though. She crouched down low, keeping to the ground. She was terrified, but hoped it wasn't showing on her face. She had no protection of her own. At all.
"Alright!" Isobel was definitely ok with going to the basement. If she knew where it was. It was times like this that she really hated being blind. At least she'd be able to run for a door that looked like it led to the basement if she could see. But she was completely dependent at this point. She hadn't been in or around the house long enough to memorize the layout.

As soon as the bars were gone, Rae turned to a wolf. She was startled by the gunshots, she assumed they were by Hunter. Of course, she didn't trust him. She stood still for a later while, deciding if she should go. She followed close to Isobel, pushing against her. She would help Isobel go to the door. Her emerald eyes looked at Hunter, she really didn't want to go with him. Her ears flicked at the gunshots again, she wanted to run and fight. It would finally make use of her.
Isobel grabbed onto the ruff of Rae's neck, thankful for the guiding hand--er, paw--she offered. With her free hand she searched for a weapon, any type of weapon. They were in a garage, there had to be something. Even a wrench would've been greatly appreciated.
Rae kept walking, she guided her. She needed to keep Isobel protected. She turned into a human again, pulling a knife out of her shirt. " Here, I don't need it. " She said, putting it in her knife.
Isobel raised an eyebrow but took the knife. "Sneaky, Rae. Don't think they wanted to leave us with any weapons at all." She stayed low to keep out of the way of the bullets. She felt better now that she had the knife, but couldn't really think of any way to help. There was chaos everywhere, and it was hard to tell who was who and where was what.
When Hunter saw their slowness he yelled at them. "Get the [freaking heck] down to the basement!" As he yelled a bullet knocked him down, lodging in his plated armor. He stood up provided covering fire. If they didn't move soon they would die, why did they not realize this?
Rae saw Hunter fall down. She pushed Isobel into the lower part and ran towards Hunter. " I'm not going to leave you. " She'd almost died like 6 times, a seventh wouldn't kill her.
Isobel stayed where Rae left her, ready to brutally slash and dice anyone she didn't know. She knew she wouldn't be of any help in this fight and reluctantly stayed in the basement. She adjusted her grip on her newly acquired knife, hoping Rae would be quick and bring Hunter back.
As she came back in Hunter rolled a grenade through a new hole in the garage door. The explosion was loud. When he saw her he pulled her to the floor. "I'll be right behind you!" Another bullet lodged itself in the armor on his back. He stumbled beside her and picked himself up. Grabbing her by the shirt collar he half dragged her up to the door to get we through. A bullet landed next to the girl. "Let's go!"
Isobel flinched and wished again that she had never lost her sight. "Hurry up!" Hopefully, the basement would be somewhat safer than it was in the garage at that moment. And maybe she could figure out just what the heck was going on.
