Robert (played by HvyArtillery)

"What are our options?" Robert asked the assembled command crew in the conference room. "We have two unknown warships nearby, both possibly hostile, or can turn hostile. We need a plan to fall back on in the event that those vessels decide to attack. Jacobs." Robert nodded to his first officer.

Commander Jacobs stood up. "We have two very different vessels. One is a behemoth and the other is a bit larger than the Liberator. The behemoth is a carrier vessel, it's primary offensive capability is no doubt it's fighter complement. The smaller ship, on the other hand, seems to be largely automated and the crew seems to be made up of cyborgs."

"Hm. Cyborgs." Romanov, the Chief of Engineering began. "That would they are vulnerable to anything that would shut down they're electronic parts, namely an EMP."

"The disruptors could be easily reconfigured." Cortez, the Chief of Security commented. "Our we could use the nuke. Nuclear explosions cause EMPs when detonated."

"And carrier?"

"We would need to knock out her hanger bays. Then their fighter would be unable to land to resupply and they will not be able to launch new ones." Romanov said.

"We would need to knock out their shields, they have dozens of primary generators and plenty of back-up ones too." Robert said.

"Either way, once the shields are down, a salvo of high-yield torpedoes will do the trick."

Robert listened as more of his command crew chimed in, adding more ways to disable the possible enemies. Finally, Robert held up his hands and the chatter died down. "I thank you, for the input and I have come at with a plan in the event of attack." He quickly outlined the plan and assignned jobs to his crew to prepare.

"Hopefully, the vessels will either leave us alone or come in peace. If not... Well, we'll show them what happens when you piss off Earthmen. Dismissed." The command crew got up and left as a young ensign entered the room.

"Sir, we are being hailed by the carrier ship."

Robert nodded and returned to the bridge. "Open the comm."

After about two seconds of silence, the ensign said "Comms are open, sir."

"This to Captain Robert of the UES Liberator from the United Earth Federation. What can I help you with?"
Vladimir (played by HRA)

"As you wish, madam. See you then!" Vladimir said, and ended the channel. This would be a very interesting evening, and he hoped it wouldn't be the last. Well, if it was good. He didn't like being fired at much. Especially by guns larger than him.

"Channel opened." The 1st Lieutenant reported, pressing a few buttons. Too many Lieutenants running around in this ship. Vlad never liked it.

"Very well. Lemme see," Vladimir said, and answered the comm, looking up at Captain Robert of the Liberator. What a ship. An interesting type, if anyone asked him. He didn't liked to be asked, though. "Ahh, Robert. So nice to see you. My name is GeneralFeldMarschall Vladimir Lenin of the HRAS Enterprise. Like it?"
Robert (played by HvyArtillery)

"Your ship is quite impressive, um, Generalfledmarschall? I'm afraid I have never heard of that rank." Robert commented. "I'm am also unfamiliar to you aligned government, HRAS wasn't it? Earth Spacefleet doesn't tend to send vessels to this sector, so my knowledge of the political bodies here are limited. The only reason we're here is to study the dwarf star. I hope we are not intruding on your space."
Vladimir (played by HRA)

"Generalfeldmarschall. Its German for Field Marshal. Don't worry, its not something one gets very often." Vladimir said, and smiled at him. It was going to be a very fun day. "HRA's the name. The HRA Empire. We, too, were here near the dwarf star, but its nothing that is requiring military action."
Robert (played by HvyArtillery)

"German?" Robert raised an eyebrow. "How did Germany get all the way out here? Last time I checked, it was still on Earth in Europe. He was genuinely curious on how a word from a human language managed to travel to an empire that the United Earth Federation had little contact with.
Vladimir (played by HRA)

"Yes. German. I'll have you know I'm actually Russian born. But HRA broke off of Earth a long time ago. We share the same of everything, really. I know most every language of Earth," Vladimir said, and nodded. He knew it sounded weird.

Luca sits in her cabin, her best dress hanging on the wall above her bunk, a dark grey with blue and white embroidery in the shape of flowers covered the dress with the slim 'armor' that was part of the dress, and herself, following the trend.

Reading the scanning results of both their new 'friend' and the newest ship to appear. It didn't look like a fight she'd want any part of if one broke out, which Tamily had made sure to scrawl down at the bottom of the report. She reaches over and hits a switch "Tamily, While I've always trusted your judgment this situation doesn't feel right to me. I want you to tell the girls in engineering to start a very low minovsky particle dispersion. Not enough to fully block comms or the like, just enough that any guided munitions will be hard pressed to hit us and any scanners pointed at us will go ballistic. I hate being spied on. Last thing, see if the Midnight Sun's wreck is still near us. I know it had a full Mobile Weapons contingent on it. It might not after all these years if the ships still here...but I'd like to have them if things get rough."
Robert (played by HvyArtillery)

"That's very interesting, Generalfledmarschall." Out of the corner of his ye, he saw his First Officer motioning. "Will you please excuse me for a moment."

he hurried over to the commander. "Yes."

"The Cyborg vessels has released a large amount of an unknown particle that is interfering with the ship's sensors."

"How much interference?"

"Enough that we can no longer scan the inner hull of the vessel, however, we can still detect if their weapons systems, shields, or engines are coming online."

"Are they?"

"No, sir. Also, we've detected an unknown vessel on the edge of or sensors. It's a dead ship but is of similar design to the Cyborg ship. Lieutenant Cortez believes that is might carry more weapons on board."

Robert felt a sinking feeling of dread.

"And sir, there's another thing Cortez said."

"What?"

"She thinks an attack by the Cyborg vessel is immensity and that we should go to Red Alert."

Robert put a grim expression his face. He had known Cortez ever since their academy days. She tended to be paranoid, but her suspicions were never unfounded.
He strode onto the bridge. "Generalfledmarschall, something has come up, please stay out of it." With that the transmission was cut and Robert took his seat at the command chair.

"Go to Red Alert and sound battle-stations."

The bridge crew obliged and every unnecessary computer monitor's display was replaced by a blinking message in red text: Alert Condition: Red; All hands reports to battle-stations as the same phrase was repeated over the intercom and klaxons wailed throughout the ship.

"Bring shields and weapons online and accelerate to attack speed. Ensign!" Robert snapped at the man manning the comm monitor. "Send a message to Battlefleet Pi. Tell them to transwarp to our location immediately, also send a message to the Cyborg vessel telling them to stop their dispersal of the particle and to state their intentions immediately."

"Y-yes, sir."

"
Vladimir (played by HRA)

Vladimir nodded, and waited.

"Sir, they're powering up!" The 1st Lieutenant shouted, and stared. The Liberator had began targeting their new friends.

He pressed a few buttons, and the computer went online. A massive supercomputer that began scanning all frequencies for any transmissions, even those he knew were never used. And he did intercept that transmission. He was prepared for that, though. And then he began typing out a set of commands.

Instantly, the transmitter was found, and a sort of... static transmission was sent. It would override their communications system, and... as part of a surprise, leave a trojan horse behind. But first, a little fun.

"Centralized EMP charged, sir." The commander of the ship, Captain Lars reported, and smiled. This would be a fun evening, and an unexpected one, too.

"Fire at the Liberator." Vladimir ordered, holding his leather belt with both hands, and a smile on his face. First the signal was sent, trying to overwhelm their comms and plant the Trojan, and then the EMP hit. It was only a weak one, designed to restart their systems. But it was enough.

"Use the Trojan to open up a line with them. Video." Vladimir said, and looked at his watch. He might be late. He didn't like being late.

Luca was on her way to the bridge when Tamily's voice comes through the ship wide intercom "Captain the Sun's wreck is still near by and I can detect very faint reactor signs from three mobile weapons, I think it's safe to say the others can see her too Ma'am. Also the newest ship on sensors has powered up it's systems and accelerating to attack speeds. They've also sent message as to our intentions and to stop particle dispersal."

She picks up her pace while using her personal comm unit in her armor headset "It seems they don't like the fact they can't look in on us. Condition Red Tamily. Tell engineering to begin Maximum particle dispersal, flood the area! I don't want any comms leaving this zone and get the I-field generators online. I don't want to be taken out by a single beam weapon shot."

Outside of the Dawn's hull a barely visible green cloud forms before disappearing as particle dispersion is kicked to maximum and it's I-field begins to form, causing a light reaction as some of the particles being dispersed interact with the barrier.

Reaching the bridge she takes her place standing near the CIC, she hated captain's chairs "Get the spare pilots out to the Sun and get it's mobile weapons online, send them out on their own then launch the Dreissen. Suddenly she and most of the crew get a nauseating feeling as they feel a EMP close by, feeling it thanks to their mostly cyberized bodies "What ship fired that and at who?!
Robert (played by HvyArtillery)

"Sir the carrier vessel is firing."

Robert sighed. it was time to implement the Plan. "Standby by to open a transrift and fire the Package towards the carrier."

A torpedo tube lit up as a specially modified warhead flew out, zipping towards the Enterprise. Immediately afterwards, the Liberator began to shake violently as the fabric of space-time in front of it was ripped, leaving a gaping hole, leading to the multiverse. The transwarp engines then constructed a special shield and the ship disappeared into the rift before sealing it.

Meanwhile, the special torpedo kept going until it collided with the carrier's shields. The torpedoes hydrogen warhead exploded and a nuclear firestorm ensued, accompanied by a powerful EMP that short-circuited any electronic nearby. A few seconds later and the Liberator reentered the universe right next to the Enterprise.

"Lock torpedoes onto their hanger bays."

"Target locked."

"Full torpedoes salvos, high-yield."

"Weapons ready."

"Fire."

Robert watched as a swarm of torpedoes were released from his ship. Figuring the EMP took care of the Cyborgs, Robert ordered. "Open another rift and head for the Aegis system to rearm."
Vladimir (played by HRA)

"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?" Vladimir shouted, slamming his fist on the controls in front of him. This was war. Hell, they'd be destroyed by them. And if the Enterprise went down? A battleship... No... a Battle Barge, would wipe out that enemy ship.

"Return fire! Open up with the Hellraiser cannons and 20 footers! I want every damn weapon and defense grid homed in on that! Initiate the point defense weapons. Order them to lock on to anything that gets out! Launch all craft, I repeat, launch all craft!" Vladimir ordered, and hit the button. Now that Trojan virus would begin to cause problems. He began giving it orders to... compromise the torpedoes inside.

The EMP? Did nothing to harm them. None of it got past the shields. All the boarding tubes were prepped, and ready to launch. Even then, some were loaded with highly explosive material, ten times worse than the FOAB. If they wanted to play with fire, they were going to be burned.

Huge quad barreled lance cannons, around 200mm in diameter each, began firing at the enemy ship, focused with the computers help. The two cannons open fired, sending huge 60 foot objects spiraling out into space. The fighters, bombers, and torpedo bombers were launched, and locked onto the ship, sending out their payload. This was not a battle easily lost.
Robert (played by HvyArtillery)

"Go now. They won't be able to track us. After all, we won't be in regular space-time when we transwarp." The ship shuddered as a it entered another rift, headed for it's new destination. Just before, the ship left, however, the Liberator's electronic warfare capabilities were brought to bear upon the Enterprise. Programs were transmitted into the enemy vessel and bypassed the ship's firewall and shut down any anti-virus software before flooding the system with computer viruses, worms, Trojans, malware, and corrupting software, causing several of the Enterprise's main systems to begin to malfunction. The Liberator continued the assault, buying itself timee until it finally entered the multiverse and the rift closed, leaving millions of malevolent programs to tear apart their adversaries electronic infrastructure as the fleeing ship went to it's target destination.
Vladimir (played by HRA)

OOC: Sorry for not replying. Can I ask a question? I wanna warn you now, I uh... Get really insensitive when it comes to this area. In other words, I may be unnesecarily rude, violent, or aggressive, but I... Couldn't help but notice you god modded there. Unfortunatly...

Could you... Um.. Fix it, please? I noticed the first one before, but I didn't want to say it. If you'd like me to explain, I'll be happy to. :)

"Enough with these EMP's! Focus all weapons on the hostile ship but aim carefull, Protect the Enterprise! Dreissen, punch through their shield and destroy that bridge! All combat troops prepare for boarding! Make them Pay for ruining our chance for a nice party!" the first chance at a party in years and it's ruined...the Dawn's crew was completely out for blood.

The Dreissen had just launched as the ships four mega particle cannon's fire, hitting the shield of the Liberator just as it was entering back into...whatever it had created. The Dawn's cannons had been designed for the very purpose of cutting through shields and other energy barriers thanks to many ships having them. The beams 'slice' through a small portion of the shield to carve a small chunk in the Liberator's hull, nothing more due to it being a snap shot at the fleeing ship.
Robert (played by HvyArtillery)

(How did I god-mod? Was the computer attack?)
Vladimir (played by HRA)

((Yeah, mostly all of the computer attack. What you did is say that your computer managed to send a massive amount of data across a Warp shielded vehicle (Warp Shields and Void Shields are different. Same basic principles, but I'll explain if I need to.), broke down a massive firewall, and overwhelmed a massive supercomputer.

What you COULD'VE done, which might be better, is say you tried to do that, and the intent was massive damage to my electronics. That way, I can acknowledge the attempt and go from there. Also, what you kind of did was somewhat impossible based on more than one factor... I'm not feeling like I should explain anything that would lead to a flame war, because I'm not trying to be offensive.

Secondly, you ignored the fact that my ship did manage to send a concentrated, centralized EMP blast about the size of your ship in a direct laser to your ship. Now, an EMP knocks out the electronics. Permanently. Most of the time. What I did was simply try to restart yours. I also tried to time it so that it was sent out before your shields got up, because I don't know if your specific shields can block EMP blasts...

That aforementioned EMP was accompanied by a cyber attack in the form of a Trojan horse inside a static jamming signal. You also didn't reply to that... Which makes me wonder... Anyhow...

Third, my OCD senses are tingling... There's some small little shreds of things that make me... Squirm. I won't tell you them if you don't want me to.

Once again, I really don't want to offend you.))
Robert (played by HvyArtillery)

((Dude, don't hold back with things that you're not happy with. I'm not the kind of guy that gets pissed off over the internet. Besides, I'm new here so any sort of criticism is appreciated.

As for the computer attack, let me break it down for down. My ship has a file containing a few dozen different malicious software. basically those programs are activated and copied a few thousand times. Then, they are sent in a pulse all at once. Like if one of two were sent at the firewall, they'd be easily repelled. However the sheer magnitude of malicious software sent, in my opinion, would overwhelm a firewall in the logic that there are too many to take down. An example would be a person getting stung by a single be. Sure, it hurts like hell, but eventually the pain subsides and the person continues on. However, if said person was stung by a swarm of bees, they would come out severely injured and possibly dead. Also, it's not like what i did is specific to my ship. Both yours and the Distant dawn have computers, so you can easily done the same. In my opinion, it's more of a creative way to knock out an enemy vessel than god-mods.
Now, you can argue that the viruses couldn't get to the hull to to the energy shields around the ship, but remember, those shields had just taken a direct hit from a nuclear weapon. However, you say that not only were your shields strong enough to keep out an strong EMP, they were also capable of withstanding the impart of several torpedo salvos and keep the cyber attack away. That begins to traverse into the realm of god-modding as a nuclear detonated right on your shielding yet you seemed to have been left unscathed. A more likely scenario, would be that, even if the shields were not depleted by the nuke, at the epicenter of the explosion where nuke met shield, the destructive force was powerful enough to open a hole in your shielding array before your generators could compensate allowing an amount of Electra-magnetic particle through and said particles could interfere with several of your systems.
As for the Trojan you say i did not acknowledge, I thought, first that it entered my systems stealthy, so that the crew would be hit by the EMP and be like Why are those guys shooting us with weak EMPs? After all, Trojans sneak into a computer by pretending to be either a. a new useful program or b. part of the computer's programming itself after which they usually lie dormant until an event (ie. activation code, opening the file in which the virus is in, etc.) triggers it's full activation. However, you also never mentioned the virus after that post, so how was I suppose to know if it's active or not and what kind effects it was going to have?
And finally, while we're on the topic, you say you planted the Trojan and hit me with the EMP, however, I think it's safe to assume that any shield system activated by any ship would only take a few seconds to come online. As my ship was already making headway towards the Distant Dawn, logically the shields would have already been up. So...Yeah.
Also did you simply intercept the comm I sent to "Battlefleet Pi" or block it? If you did block it, I have a whole paragraph on that to. But I think this is enough for one post. So, yeah, let me know what else you've got a problem with :)
Vladimir (played by HRA)

((Interesting. So if its not too much trouble, because I really don't want it to be, could you rewrite that post? What you could say is, and I'm accepting this, you sent the virus in as a transmission, which WOULD be able to bypass the Warp Shields.

(Warp Shields are specifically designed to keep the psychic energy, and raw energy in particular, out while moving in the Warp. Of course, that shield is always on. My specific ship has two Warp shield generators and two backup generators, always on, so two layers, one outside, and one inside. It isn't affected by kinetic energy, though, so plasma, kinetic projectiles and the such go right through. Lasers, EMPs, Psychic energy, and transmitting information directly through to the supercomputer does get stopped, or blocked.

Now Void Shields are shields that shield against kinetic energy, and solids. So lasers, projectiles, and raw energy tend to get stopped by the Void Shields. Now the VS, as I will refer to It for simplicity, is a very different type of shields. It absorbes the energy directly into the generators, and then the generators start to get overwhelmed and the shields begin to deplete. If depleted, the backup generators kick in, and the main generators stop, and vent the kinetic energy. That can take anywhere from 10 to 60 minutes, depending on the size and amount of energy it absorbed.

In other words, I have a few layers of rather strong VS and WS(2 of these), and they can take a lot of hits. Before anything can get to the ship, it has to deplete the shields first, which takes time because they can, in theory, never be shut off because of the amount of generators and backup generators taking over.)

A nuke does lots of damage, but it has a certain tendency to be severely weakened in space because of the lack of air to fuel the fire. Because you said it exploded out in front of the shields, I'm going to assume that was the intent. Now what that creates is... Well, have you seen the movie Moonraker? There was a large explosion in space. There was fire, and whatnot, but only for not even a second. And it just disappeared.

I did mention the Trojan Horse, and I had used it to open a video chat with you... To talk... I hadn't actually fired any projectile at you, and a centralized EMP is really hard to get past. Though it could be seen as an act of aggression...

Now the shields were depleted somewhat, because of the intensity of KE in that one part. Just not enough to shut off any more than one layer. I have around... Five? I think. Now the torpedoes, unless they are specifically designed to disrupt a specific area of shielding like my torpedoes and shells are, they will just explode on contact. Or act like an ozone layer. It's very complicated, and involves a lot of grey area.

On the matter of shields going online, granted, yes. They do get online very, very fast. Depending on the size. Your shields go online much faster than mine, mainly because you aren't that big, really. Compared to about 5 kilometers of area to cover, you can get them online in NO time. I take a bit of time, as you can see.

Ooh, that nasty transmission interruption. Yes, I did manage to intercept it, but unless I... No, wait, sorry. I was sending out a jamming signal. Sorry. You MAY have been blocked by my jamming signal, and tracked by my computer, which is being stung by a bunch of pesky bees. Time for the pesticides.

I've probably bored you to complete hell now, but I hope I made myself clearer. :)
Like I said before, what we're diving in here is covered in a lot of grey area, so there's sometimes no right or wrong. But I AM based off of Warhammer 40k, in a bit. With my modifications.
By the way, did you happen to hear of a place called Nationstates? Just asking.

Oh, and I will get a post out later for the IC. Sorry.))
Robert (played by HvyArtillery)

(( Sorry, but I didn't notice that the Trojan had opened comms until you pointed it out, it tends to happen sometimes :P, my apologies. Thanks for explaining how your shields work, and no it didn't bore me. i like getting into the technical aspects out things. Though your ships shields are very different from mine, because I based the technical aspects of my ship on Star Trek physics, with my own spin, of course. And I see it's only fair that I explain my shields as well.

One my ship there are 4 different shields, combat shields, flight shields, warp shields, and transwarp shields. Basically for combat shields, my ship has one main generator and a smaller back-up to take over in the event that the main generator is rendered inoperable. The generator is in a centralized location of the ship so that enemy fire cannot easily reach it. Connected to the generator are about a dozen "shield emitters" that stud the outer hull of the ship. When shields are brought online, the generator charges each emitter with as much energy the emitter can safely handle the emitter than projects the energy around the ship then, the deflector array in front of the ship stabilizes the shields so that it forms around the ship in a bubble shape. Now, when the shields come under fire the usable energy that makes up the shields is rendered into a negative, unusable form that slowly replaces the shield energy in the emitter with each hit. Eventually, given enough time and hits, the shield emitter will have too much negative energy to continue operating and will shutdown to preserve it's systems. However, just because one emitter went offline doesn't mean the entire system will go down. the other emitters will continue to operate until they have sustained enough damage to go offline themselves. Of course, the time offline is temporary. As soon as negative energy is acquired, the emitters begin to drain the energy away while new usable energy arrives. Because of this, the shields are in a constant state of regeneration, but the regeneration process is slow and therefore, if the part of the shield that is under attack will not be able to compensate the influx of negative energy with the regeneration rate. The regeneration rate can be speed up if power is diverted from the reserves allowing the quick strengthening of the shields in a pinch. Also, i don't know if you think this, but i believe that energy weapons (ex. beams, diruptors, etc.) do more damage to kinetic weapons and that kinetic weapons are designed to breach hulls then knock down shields.

So yeah that's how my shields work and hopefully we can now return to the roleplay
PS isn't nationstates a nation simulator game? I haven't played it cause a have accounts on Cybernations and Wargame 2.0))
