Before I begin, I realize that ant keeping would probably not be all that high on the priority list of a space-traveling vagabond or a romantic poet from the stars. BUT, as an ant enthusiast with a sci-fi character who also is, I feel like I'd be remiss to not talk about this topic.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that you didn't encounter anything about sci-fi people taking care of some eusocial insects. I'd like to reverse this trend in any way that I can.

How do any of you lovely peoples feel about the ant keeping of a space-faring sci-fi setting? And how do you think it would look for that matter?

When I think ‘Sci-Fi’ & ants, I think of the old movie ‘Them’.

Hmmm. Big glass type of tank full of nice dirt/sand/other soil, and a sort of... Hourglass tube in the middle? Then the ants could sort of climb around as they liked. Or something. Haha.

Actually, I sort of also think of Stephen King's book 'Revival'... Uuurgh.
