Once upon a time, there was a young boy/girl named (Y/C), who lived with their abusive parents. They had been taking beatings for years, but one day, they had enough! (Y/C) ran out of the house during an argument and fled into the haunted wood. But as they ran, the forest slowly turned into a park. They were entering some sort of new world!

Magic is very common. Magic-tech, grand floating islands, forests that sing, magical creatures may be an every-day occurrence.
Modern
Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.
Romance is slightly desired, but the overall plot is more important.
