Josh sat at his spot beside Lacey.Kyrie brought the food to the table, and set it down there. So people could just get whatever they wanted without getting up.Kyrie then sat across from Lacey.
Lacey grabbed a couple pieces of bacon and a pancake, setting them on her plate. (Lets pretend she put knifes too.) She grabbed the knife and expertly cut her pancake, taking a perfect sized bite.
Josh got a pancake, and put it on his plate then got another putting that on top of the first one.He got two pieces of bacon and put those on his plate as well. Then he grabbed the bottle of maple syrup, (that somebody at some point put there ) and drizzeled some on his pancakes. He took his knife and cut a decent sized bite and ate it.
Kyrie had got one pancake, and a little bit of bacon.Once Josh was done with the syrup she asked Josh if he could hand her the maple syrup. Once he handed it to her she drizzled a bit on her pancakes. Then set the bottle down, and began to cut a piece of pancake.

Lacey noticed the maple syrup that she forgot to put on the table and reached for it carefully so she wouldn't spill anything. After putting a glob of it on her pancake, she continued eating. Lacey finished chewing and wiped her mouth with her napkin. "This is gooooood Kyrie." She said with a goofy smile.
Kyrie took a bite and savored the flavor. She swallowed and looked at Lacey and smiled, and laughed at Laceys goofy smile."Thank you" she said.Like most people she liked when people praised her for good things she did."I agree" Josh said.
Lacey smiled because Josh had agreed with her, it made her feel gooooood. She finished what was on her plate and grabbed another pancake when she thought nobody was looking, pouring a little more syrup on her plate.
Kyrie watched her get another pancake, not that she minded though. Eat away. Waste less food. However you see it.Kyrie ate another piece of her pancake, and Josh took a bite of bacon.
Lacey finished her food and scooted her chair back carefully, picking up her plate and silverware and putting them into the sink. "All done." She said with a bright smile, sitting back down at the table.
After a few minutes Kyrie and Josh finished eating.Josh finishing before her of course, pushing his chair back, getting up and taking his plate to the sink.Even with a maid, he did the simple things like that.Kyrie did the same, taking her plate to the sink, so she could soon begin washing the dishes.Josh was about to walk out of the room, but stopped."Lacey, can you come with me?" He asked. He looked at her "your not in trouble or anything"
Lacey nodded and followed Josh out of the room, glancing back at Kyrie as she left. He had seemed very nic so far but Lacey knew from experience that nice people could be the cruelest ever. Pushing her doubts to the back of her mind, she caught up with Josh because she had fallen a bit behind.
Josh lead her to his study room, looking back once or twice to make sure she was following. He gestured her to take a seat, then took a seat himself. If Lacey looked around, her mouth would probably drop open at all the books and papers. There was a bookshelf that reached to the ceiling, that was stuffed with books, a very large tower of books in the corner, about 5 thick books stacked on his desk, with some papers and pens and pencils. So many more books, probably more than 2 librairys put together. But the room was not small, it was actually quite large.Josh looked at Lacey, "can I ask what things you may be good at?" He asked.
Lacey's mouth did indeed drop open until he asked her what she was good at, then she realized that he was assigning her chores today. "Um...." She started, trying to think of what she was good at. "Cleaning, Fixing things, Running around to do stuff." She said with a slight smile at the last one. "I can also lift heavy things and move them." She added, remembering the time one of her other owners wanted the whole living room re-arranged for their party before they got back from a movie.
He looked down thinking, with the side of his pointer finger covering his lips, and his thumb under his jaw, he varied over things."For your age you can do quite a lot" he said."Well Kyries job is the cleaning part, so thats out."Nothing needs fixed or moved.." he said deducting those possiilites. He looked over his shoulder at a smaller bookshelf that was overflowing with books. He got up and grabbed a book that had pictures and words. The cover read Typical Things That Are Usually Needed To Be Done. The way he just went over and pulled it out, one might wonder if his high memory memorized where he kept each book.He sat back down in his chair, and held the book out for Lacey."See if there's anything in there that looks, or sounds interesting to you."
Lacey watched him think and too the chance to look around the room again, almost missing his comment. "I-I can't." She said with a frown, looking at her hands folded into her lap. She had been a slave all her life and never learned how to read. She could speak perfectly, but words in a book just look like of scribbles randomly put together.
"Oh?" He asked sounding surprised slightly."Well, this book has pictures, could you at least point to a job that looks interesting , and I read about it to you? "
"Ok." Lacey said brightening up again and taking the book. She flipped through until she saw a job about gardening. "Whats this one?" She asked, showing him the page.
He looked over the page."Gardening.A job that involves catering to flowers, vegetables, or fruits.Watering them.Providing rich soil.Watching them to make sure they don't die.Providing enough sunshine. This job is usually done as a passtime" he read from the book.
"That sounds like fun." She said smiling "I love flowers and plants. I also liked the one on the previous page about sorting and Clean Out/Organizing things." She added with a smile.
Josh thought for a moment."When things need to be organized you can do that, and once a day tend to the garden out back.If there's nothing else to be done on your part, yo could help Kyrie? How's that?" He asked.
"Okie dokie." She said with a smile, liking the idea of tending to the garden and helping Kyrie. "Um.... Master Josh?" She started, unsure of how to ask the question.
