A young girl stood on a make-shift stage with men and women surrounding her, filthy and sweaty bodies pressing her closer to the edge of the stage. Suddenly a man's voice rang out over everyone else, on the stage and the chairs set up on the ground in front of them. "Everybody! Please quiet down and we will start the auction!!" He shouted cheerily, clearly thinking we weren't worth the time of day. All the people on the stage backed up a bit and made a line in order of their number."I have 23 slaves and about a hundred people here so lets get this show on a role!!" He added, motioning the first man up. He was about 25 and he wore no shoes, a filthy rag was all that was covering him. Immediately people called out their bids and after a couple minutes a woman walked off with the man, his chained feet dragging across the cement floor. "Alright, she may be a little small but she works like a grown man!" He said as the girl was pushed towards the front of the stage, her feet tripping over the chain. She stumbled a bit but regained her composure, standing stiff as her pink braids swept into and out of her face. "Lets start with $200." He called smiling as people already started bidding.

A young man with blonde, shaggy hair, wandered through a big crowd of civilians, avoiding people, and trying not to get shoved into strangers.This man, was named Josh.Kyrie followed right behind him, almost on his heels, she didn't want to get separated from her master in such a big crowd.Her purple braids dangling over her shoulders in the front, and her bangs kept falling into her eyes.Kyrie didn't dare to ask why they were at a auction that sold slaves, she was glad she knew her master would never place her up for action, never, he was a nice guy, not a jerk.Josh looked up at the stage, seeing a young girl standing there.A young girl, being sold as a slave, what was wrong with this world. "250!!" Josh called out, making him the top bidder for the moment.Kyrie looked at Josh, she could tell he didn't want that girl to be sold to somebody mean.

The price was bumped up to $350 once people heard she was from Canada, and that she had natural pink hair. One man in the front was determined to get her, but he had a low budget and stopped at $300. The girl shuffled from foot to foot, looking everybody in the crowd over. She had seen the man who had raised it by $50 earlier and the girl who stood beside him. She is pretty she thought ruefully, absent-mindedly tugging her bright pink hair.

(Im confused, who won her? Ah well,)
Josh desperately didn't want to lose."375!" He called out.Now who could deny that.Bumped up $75.Kyrie looked at her master, seeing the determination in his eyes.Last time she saw that much determination in his eyes was when he was reading 'All the elements of Earth' that looked like it had over 9000 pages, and he was determined to read it all in two days, did he accomplish that, yes.

"375 going once" He called when nobody else responded. Nobody wanted to go over 350 for a child, even if she was highly recommended. Children catch colds easier then grown people, that just means more money to spend on them to keep them healthy. "Sold to the man in the back!" He yelled, pushing the girl to the stairs to meet her new master. The man running the auction put a collar around her neck with her name, Lacey it said, and number on it then turned back to the auction to sell the others.

Lacey waited beside the stairs, not daring to move towards her new master in fear of being hurt. She had been in 3 auctions in her lifetime already, the first was when she was born and the second was a couple years ago before she learned to obey. Shuffling her feet, she tried to get a good look at her new master from where she was.

Josh looked around, hearing nobody else bid.Had he won...? When it was announced that he had won the auction.He walked forward, through the crowd some more until he reached the stage.Kyrie followed behind him.Josh gave the man the $375 with ease.Just the way he simply handed the man the money, it was a conclusion that he wasent poor.Josh looked at Kyrie, "Kyrie, will you please go get the little girl?" He asked.Kyrie bowed slightly, for a respectful yes.She went alongside the stage, keeping close to it, until she reached the little girl.Kyrie looked at the little girl, reading the name tag.She held out her hand to the little girl, "please come with me, Lacey, Master is waiting."

Lacey watched the man go up and pay for her, and saw the girl coming for her. Once she had gotten to her, Lacey looked down at her feet and nodded. "O-ok." She stuttered nervously, anxious to get out of this place crowded with people. Lacey grabbed the girls hand, looking up to make sure it was ok, and started walking back towards the man with her. "D-do you w-work for h-him too?" She asked out of curiosity as her braids bobbed up and down with each step she took.

(Ugh, I hated how short this turned out.)

Kyrie wasent bothered by the obvious fact the little girl was nervous.She had good reason to be.New home, new people, new possibility. She led the little girl down the stairs of the stage, and walked alongside the stage, heading back towards master.She looked down at the little girl, "I'm his maid, so yes.I do.." she replied.She looked ahead before she ran into anyone."He's not mean though, hes a kind Master" Kyrie said.It was appearant she was resentful to Josh, respectful.Soon the two reached Josh.He looked at the two, "let's go" he said, and began to lead the two back into the crowd.Kyrie held the little girls hand the whole time, so she wouldn't get lost.

Lacey followed along without a word, knowing that even the nicest people had a mean side to them. That's what happened when she was in the orphanage once...... She watched the people glance at her then return their gazes back to the stage where they were selling an older woman for much more then the man started out for her.

(Sorry it's so short, I'm doing HW and HS sucks..... I also can't get on during the week unless I'm on my cell or I sneak on my laptop....)

Josh figured the man was selling the older people for more, because the older can do so much more than the young.More labor induced jobs and all.Bribe the people into paying more for the older people.Soon he walked out of the crowd.Kyrie followed right behind him, still holding the little girls hand.True, every good person has a mean side, but Kyrie kept her mean side under lock and key, she don't hit anyone, she don't swear, she don't curse.
(I don't mind the short ness )

Lacey walked further out of the crowd with them and looked at the people around them for the first time. They were mostly rich people, but she could see slaves beside their masters wearing dirty pillow cases and bare feet. Gathering up her courage, she asked a question. "M-m-master?" She stuttered nervously. "A-are you n-n-nice?" She finished bravely, preparing herself for the worst.

Josh looked down at the little girl hearing the term 'master' which he was so used to Kyrie saying. "I think I am, but that is up to on decide, rather you think Im nice or not.." he pointed out calmly.No worse point came, which was bound to be off a little.

Lacey nodded and a ghost of a smile appeared on her face for the first time in years with the possibility of having a master that wasn't terrible.

((Uh, make them go somewhere plzz. Lol I can't think of anything and I hate writing one-liners!!)

Josh looked forward."How about we all go home for now, show her around, and all that good stuff?" Josh suggested.Kyrie looked down at the girl, "sound good?" She asked her.

Lacey nodded again, gripping Kyrie's hand so she wouldn't get lost, and for comfort. Her braids hung by her neck, bobbing with every step she took. Her hair looked brown under the dirt with pink streaks in it but with a good washing her hair would return to it's normal bright pink color.

"We might can even get you cleaned up" Kyrie said with a reassuring smile.Soon they were far away from the crowd.Thankfully.There were a few similarities between Lacey and Kyrie, they both had naturally odd colored hair, they were their hair and braids, and worked for the same man.

"Really?" Lacey said with a smile. Lacey already liked Kyrie allot, she had never had another person treat her with kindness before so it was kind of new.

(Describe where they were going. Like turning, going into a carriage, etc.)

(Usually the two just walk, they don't own a carriage, or car or anything quite yet that's transportation, and alright, I can do that)
Josh continued to walk forward.Kyrie smiled down at Lacey.Glad she was happy, rather then Mrs gloomy girl.They turned right on a curb, and continued on.About 15 minutes later, or at least that's what it felt like, they arrived at a big house, fancy house, beautiful house."Were here!" Josh said.

"Wow!" Lacey exclaimed, craning her head to look at the house in front of her. It was the biggest house she has seen so far, the other houses she was in was only half this size and she was only let in to do chores. "You really live here?" She asked Josh, turning her head to look at him while speaking.

Josh smiled and looked at Lacey."This is where me and Kyrie live." He said.If Kyrie hadent revealed her name to the little girl, now she knew.It was a beauty to look at, the house.Josh led her to the door, and opened it, letting the girls go first, then followed them inside, closing the door behind them, and switching on a light.
