So just a quick idea of what it is. Pretty much an apocalypse of all kinds of monsters. You can name it, Wendigos, werewolves, vampires, etc! But here's the catch, the word is somewhat split with those who have leadership due to having magic and the other due to weapons. Of course, the two can't work together and would be a war between the two sides. Magic claims South and East as Weapons claims North and West. The main villain of the story is a dark magic wizard who wants to dominate the world by controlling the monsters. I'll have more info when Pmed about these. Now, the characters that will be good with this are what's listed belong and what role they play out.
1. Ace Lee Hunter: They are lost in the world. By all means, they lost their home, forest, and their beloved protector, 'Caretaker'. After the world is full of monsters, they start becoming one. They begin hunting like one, feasting like one, and having their animal instincts more at hand than ever. Until your character (Can be either Magic or Weapons) was hunting for food. They hunted down your character to feed on them until your character looked or acted like their beloved 'Caretaker'. Their humanity was coming back to them, slowly. Soon, they began trusting your character but from a far distance, fearing they might attack.
2. Carolina Pierce Nightminer: For her, this is a blessing yet a curse. She is living in her small cottage far from anyone or groups. She has her "friends" who so happened to be cursed crystallized skeletons. This was a dream come true until she was visited by the villain's greatest hunter., your character At first, she was annoyed and pretty told your character to screw off. Of course, your character's task was actually to kidnap her due to her magic type, so this was gonna be a fight. The fight was fair until she was hit to the ground with a bloody side. Then, the crystallized skeletons began fighting with your character as those who didn't have a weapon began trying to help the witch. Your character soon went back to the villain empty-handed, at least to the villain and not your character. Now, your character would look for any excuse to stalk, follow, and learn about the witch.
3. Iris Jasper Fallenheart: Your character was sent to make a weapon for your group (Either Magic or Weapon). Your character was sent to the infamous one in the woods. During your character's journey, they were hurt so they need more than a weapon. When your character made it, the weapon was ready to go but your character wasn't since they were injured badly. Soon, the co-workers who so happened to be the roommates and friends of the Healer. He heals your character with their sub magic and told your character what your character needed to do meanwhile. As your character rest, an unexpected request comes in for the co-workers. Which happens to be from the villain whose name rings a bell. Not to the co-workers but to the Healer. Surprisingly, the villain used to be friends with the Healer's mother who is rare just like him and has been obsessed with Soul Butterflies.

Magic is rare, but not unheard of. Mundane characters may or may not believe in it. Magical characters may form small and exclusive pockets for study, protection, etc.
Modern
Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.
Romance is desired but not required, and will balance evenly with other plot.
