Kenneth Parcell (played anonymously)

It had been a normal day for Kenneth E. Parcell. He had done all of his normal page duties and also helped start setting up decorations for Christmas, since it was getting closer and he always enjoyed putting the decorations out. He had gone to get lunch for the writers and actors of the specific show he worked for- TGS- and almost killed himself because he had slipped on the ice and landed in a way that their sandwiches would be unharmed. He had gotten lucky in that he only had to clean up one barf today, but essentially had to pay for it by lugging twenty stacks of paper from one end of the building to the other. Jack Donaghy had taken his lunch again (his mother must've been calling him) so he had to go back out to get himself something to eat and had once again slipped on the same stretch of ice as before.

All in all, it was a typical day for Kenneth the page, and as he opened the door to his apartment and carefully stowed his bicycle in his closet, he was looking forward to a nice relaxing night until he had to go to work once more in the morning.

After closing his closet door and making sure his front door was locked, he noticed something odd- it was rather cold in here. His window was open and he didn't remember leaving it open. That was strange. He hurried across and closed it to keep the cold air from invading the relative warmth of his apartment. Shaking his head and dismissing the oddity of that sight, he crossed over to the kitchen to get himself something to eat for dinner, his lunch getting somewhat squished during his previous fall.

He jumped back a little with a startled squeak, however, when he saw that there was a girl in his kitchen. Maybe that was where women belonged, but- who was this? He didn't know this girl- was she a robber?! Oh heavens, he hoped not! He was much too frightened at that moment to speak, although it'd probably kick back in in a moment.

Isobel froze with a butter knife in one hand a bread with peanut butter in the other when she heard some one come in. It was too late to try to escape now, and he'd already closed the window. Well, windows were easy enough to break. And now he was in the kitchen too. What to do?? "Um..." She could feel her face getting red with embarrassment.

She hadn't thought anyone would be back soon. Just a quick drop in and make a sandwich and leave after cleaning up. Then she realized he was probably in the kitchen for a reason. "Uh, want one?" Hopefully he'd just decide he was dreaming and not call the cops.

The poor page stood there for a minute, frozen in place, trying to comprehend the situation. He finally managed to get out a strangled gurgle, although he quickly stopped himself when he realized he wasn't actually speaking. Another minute and a gulp later, Kenneth finally managed to use his words:

"Why, y-yes please..."

It was a little odd to ask for a sandwich in his own home, but okay. She had asked and he was hungry, so he wasn't about to turn down food. Although it was his food, so he shouldn't technically have to ask for it...

This was just confusing him further so he decided to move on to a more pressing matter. "I-if you don't mind my asking... What exactly are you doing in my apartment...?"

Well, this was awkward... She finished making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for him and started making another one. "W-well I didn't think anyone was home, and nobody was when I came in... I'm not a burglar, if that's what you think." She paused for a moment. "Well, unless you count the sandwich of course."

It was getting warm in the apartment now with the window closed, but she wasn't about to take her sweatshirt off. Way too many questions at once. She probably already looked strange wearing dark glasses inside.

He took the sandwich with a small "thank you" and slowly bit into it, hoisting himself up to sit on the counter so he could watch her. Normally he'd go and eat at the table or the couch like a civil person, but he was a little reluctant to just leave her there in the kitchen by herself. It would be rude and he also wanted to keep an eye on her. Not that he didn't trust her when she said she wasn't a robber; she was just an odd little person, that was all.

"I figured if you were a robber you would've taken my TV by now," Kenneth admitted, gesturing in the direction of the living room where his precious television sat. "It's really the only thing in here worth something." It was true; the nice TV stood out against the otherwise cheap furniture and rather sketchy apartment. In fact, the only reason he had such a nice thing was because it was a gift. He'd still have the bunny ears right now if he hadn't been given the TV.

"So why were you here for a sandwich, then?" There were places you could buy sandwiches without breaking into someone's apartment, after all.

She laughed. "I wouldn't have much use for a tv. And I think people would be pretty suspicious if I walked into a shop carrying it and tried to sell it." She finished her sandwich and bit into it, leaning against the counter. Well, he was taking this situation better than she thought he would.

She swallowed before answering his other question. She'd already broken into the guy's apartment, no need to be rude too! "I, uh, don't exactly have a lot of money. Or any money at all. It's hard tobuy food that way."

He nodded at her statement; yeah, that could be just a wee bit suspicious. Kenneth's signature grin was starting to come back now that he was relaxing; before he had just been too shocked to keep it up, but this girl seemed nice enough, despite the fact that she had broken into his apartment. That was just a minor technicality- she hadn't broken his window, so that was really dry thoughtful.

"Well, in that case, you may have all the sandwiches you want," Kenneth told her, waving his hands around the small kitchen. He didn't really have much money to give her (he didn't have a very high-paying job) but he could give her more food. "I'm terribly sorry- my name is Kenneth Parcell, what's yours?"

She waited for a second, wondering if he was just joking. Deciding he wasn't, she gave a grin. "Thanks Kenneth. My name's Isobel." She didn't know her last name. "Sorry about coming in like this. You seem pretty nice."

Kenneth grinned back happily, back to normal now that things had been smoothed out. "That's alright, Miss Isobel- nothing is broken or dead so it's fine. Now, if you had stolen my TV that would be another matter entirely," he teased, wagging a finger before sliding off his counter and going to try to resume the coming home routine that had been interrupted. He hung had page jacket up on the rickety coat hanger in the corner before turning on his TV to check the news and weather.

"The silly men say we're going to get more snow, but who knows if they're right? They're normally wrong," Kenneth commented before taking another bite out of his sandwich, watching the meteorologists point out parts of New York that were likely to get ice and snow.

Isobel put the lids back on the peanut butter and jelly and put them up. Well, she definitely didn't expect her evening to go like this. It hadn't ever happened before. "I hope it snows. It's so pretty watching it drift down and seeing all those little specks turn into one big blanket of white." She walked slowly, almost cautiously, with her hand on the wall.
