Hi everyone!
My father has Meniere's Disease, an inner ear disorder that causes extreme vertigo and loss of hearing. It is incurable, and is a very varied and underresearched disease. The disease really started to come to the forefront when I was little, so I have lived with my dad having this disease for most of my life. When I was 15, he had to quit his job as a pastor and go on disability.
Hope this is good enough info!
So ask me anything!

We haven't really used that term around the house, but if I'm understanding it correctly he is bilateral, as he has it in both ears. Surgery was considered earlier on, but because he has it in both ears it would have made him completely deaf, so he decided against that option. While his hearing has decreased by a great deal, he is still able to use hearing aids to help him hear better, so he decided that was his preferred choice.
