Oh, no no no no no, this isn't your clichéd person-falls-in-love-with-monster story. It's much more than that.
A long time ago, some scientists were trying to ressurect gorgonopsids to work as a companion and mode of transportation for hunters. They managed to resurrect a few, and tried to breed aggression out of them similar to that fox experiment being performed in Russia.
It almost succeeded. Within a few generations, the gorgonopsids were starting to become friendlier, sociable, and more intelligent. And then Grimhilde was born. She was the abnormal one from the litters, more aggressive than her brothers and sisters, bigger even. She proved troublesome to handle as a baby and downright impossible when she became a young adult. She was resistant to training and attacked anyone that tried to sit on her back.
One night, everything went to complete chaos. The older generations' aggressive specimins broke out of their confinements and killed most of the humans. The ones they didn't kill were smart enough to leave the base when they could. The aggressive specimins killed all of the gorgonopsids that wouldn't run (learned behaviour) or wouldn't defend themsevles (also learned). Grimhilde was one of the few survivors that fled. The forest the base was situated in was vast enough to host the remaining gorgonopsids for many years.
Grimhilde now holds a territory far away from the base, and stashed her riding tack away deep within as a reminder that humans can be pushy. As a sapient being without opposible thumbs, she's fully capable of holding a grudge for years. She is, after all, a Gorgonopsid intelligens, descendant of the ancient Gorgonopsid inostrancevia.
Will you be the one to tame this vicious beast? I'm warning you, it'll take a long time. But think about it. She'll be an epic mount to ride into battle, if you can connect with her. Heavy emphasis on the IF.

I'm mostly concerned with how much we could do with them. I mean, gorgonopsids and Kaijus aren't the most social creatures.
Well Kotarias is a different story. I imagine he'd also have a handful of scientists following him studying his behavior when not in combat.
Ah. It'll be a bit of a bloodbath, then. Grimhilde doesn't like it when creatures invade her territory, especially humans XP

Oh my gosh, this is one of the most interesting RP concepts I've seen in a while! I would love to join. 
I could use older versions of Gale or Allan (adopted for a modern setting) for this. Gale's probably better, as he's actually capable of feeling an emotion beyond annoyance.
