Do you love Star Trek? Do you wish you knew more about Trek? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to serve on a starship? Have you ever wanted to write an episode of Star Trek or visualize life after Voyager?

My first RP was Starfleet based. There was a fleet made up of dozens of ships, with hundreds of players. It wasn't called RP back then, it was called simming. Because with that many ships and players, we basically were a simulated fleet.

That group still exists today. I recently joined two vessels. That fleet posts a little differently than we do here, usually working on a few big collaborative posts per week as opposed to the quick response and frequent interactions seen on this page.

What am I getting at? I started a sim! Visit www.Starship.8m.com to see the ship and get a feel for what its like. For all you Trekkies, it's a Steamrunner class ship.

My goal is to get 6 members and stay active. If we can do that, we can have our little ship apply to join that big fleet and maybe work as part of a Task Force someday!

I wouldn't mind signing up. I'll get to work on a character here soon and show you a rough draft. I grew up watching TNG, DS9, VOY, and ENT. I think most of what I remember is equivalent to the Operations and Intelligence/Diplomatic divisions - mainly because my memory of Trek boils down to two things: 1) the more commonly used technobabble (self-sealing stem bolts anybody?) and 2) the histories and cultures of different species (especially Romulan and Cardassian).

It was a Star Trek sim that marked my first successful foray into roleplay. I dabbled in Bravo Fleet and ASR for a bit, but had difficulty keeping up because of school. Now, aside from time spent looking for a job, I've only got one major project and plenty of free time. I just never went back because I was never a fan of the BSG-style 'space opera' genre.

I bet hundreds of people could say exactly what you said! Bravofleet was my first foray too... And school and work were the only things keeping me from continuing characters... Since you have BF experience, would you like to be the XO? Everything you don't remember is all on the new BF Wiki.

I see this sim is to Bravofleet as Bravofleet is to Canon Trek... I don't think they should be mad because these mentions are also ads for BF by accident.

A big part of the XO's role would be Intel and ops anyway.. If you don't want the XO role, I can have your character function as second officer.

And feel free to bring any RP friends you want into this. I'm not as strict as BF, I consider training and mentoring new RPers a good portion of what RPing is.

After I finish my initial draft, I'm going to do some additional research on the BF Wiki to see if there's anything different from what I know/remember. I'll get it posted on RPRepository later tonight!

Even better news, the first post is up! The ship has an XO and a Chief Engineer. All of us have written a decent amount of Trek. I'm sure we would love to help other Trek fans explore their own careers in Starfleet. Have you ever wanted to be a ship's doctor or man the tactical station? Would you like to sit at the controls of a starship? You are one character slot away from it! I'd love to pull 3 or 4 more players...

A couple of posts are up! You should check it out at the sci-fi forum... These characters are already coming alive. Read those posts and even if you don't know much about Star Trek, just read the emotions. The characters are dynamic and written as if they have minds of their own.. They tell the stories, not us writers. Come and join the fun. If you don't know about Star Trek but love the idea of being on a spaceship sounds cool, this is 100% the RP you want...

What Starfleet officer is trapped in your mind? Imagine them and just put what you see down in writing.
