I would love having an edit link for posts in chat windows. Where other people have the 'Report' link beneath their username, for your own posts I'd like to see an 'Edit' link that leads you straight to the edit page for a post (aka https://www.rprepository.com/community/editpost.php?p=xxx ).



Right now it's a super hassle (especially for Just Talkin') to track the post down and make edits if you mess up. Recently I noticed some members in chat have had difficulty figuring out how to edit their posts in chat too, so I think it would be useful across the board.

I second this actually! It's simple enough to edit a post anywhere else. But when it comes to the Chatbox, replies go so fast, and some people (like me!) have a tendency to catch up in the chat when they've been gone for a while and spot their own typos.

It also cuts down on people having to do a second post to revise those edits since the edit button is already there. For example:

LightSide-Lucree: I'm typing liek this for a moment
LightSide-Lucree: *like
LightSide-Lucree: *.

Depending on the edits, that's a lot of astericks.

At present, this is specifically omitted, as those edits would not show up for anyone who already had their chat windows open. The chat has no capability of detecting edits for posts it has already loaded.

When I'm able to fix one, I'll fix the other!
