The inside of the police station was sterile and plain. There was a no-nonsense, no-frills atmosphere. Everything was brown or gray, usually some shade between black and white. Officers had started to gather in the briefing room. There was a podium and a bunch of chairs set at long , connected desks.
On a back table were boxes of donuts and hot coffee, fresh out of large pots. Some officers brought different things in for breakfast sometimes, helping people get started with their energy.
Speaking at the front of the room, was Officer Nuhotep. A tattoo of an Egyptian marking surrounded one eye, related to an entity known as Ra and stood out against his dark skin. He spoke with a deep, booming voice.
"So let's go over some of the cases we're working on this week. To start, I still have no leads on the Murphy case. It was an organized hit, we know that. The perpetrator made sure to cover their tracks. But I'm still searching for clues. We'll find something. All we found was a little arcane residue, evidence of a thrown bolt or blast."
He shuffled some index cards. "I've been working the 2100 block of Rogers Ave. Lots of shops. Someone's been breaking in late at night, climbing through unlocked second floor windows. Video evidence shows the perp levitated, and he looks like one of the typical knuckleheads we deal with."
Looking through his cards, he added. "The casino busted another telepath. The psychic squealed and said it's an organized ring making millions. I'd love to break that case."
He gave his updates and soon was headed to take a seat and wait for the next briefing. "Who else has updates?" Soon after asking, he helped himself to a drink from the back table, ready to hear about more cases.

i walk in as nuhotep finishs his report with luna my k9 partner not far behind as she was allowed to wander around the station and i take a seat as i look through my notes on one of the missing persons cases that i have been working on for the past couple days all we knew was that they literally vanished into thin air after talking to someone on the phone.

Seeing one of the other k-9s she trotted over tail wagging. She gave a short bark and the other dog barked happily. With her tail wagging she happily bounded around one of the police officers closely followed by the other dog. She stopped and trotted back you Ryan. She rested her head on Ryan’s shoulder peering at the files.
