Setting: (optional to read)
On a rather large island lies a rather large building known as the Institute of Peculiar Abilities. Well, I don't know if I should say "known as", since very few people actually know it at all. They contact parents of those with children who possess peculiar abilities, or more simply, powers. Many accept, and send in their applications. It's all about teaching the young children to learn how to control their powers, keep them hidden, and survive in the modern world - and any gifted students who aren't interested in hiding are welcome to stay and be open about themselves. We have a village to stay at, beautiful gardens and forests, as well as a variety of peculiar creatures that only live here.
The Institute itself is surrounded by large, tall, *tall* gates, has a garden on the right side of the building, trees dotting the left side, and a nice lake in the back. But we don't suggest swimming in it...
The inside of the building has thick walls, and girls dorm rooms on the right and boys on the left sides of the structure, each room housing twenty students. Each room has a closet in the wall to store their things with a combination only they know, and five bunk beds on each side of the room (The remaining two sides actually have desks for the students to sit at quietly and do whatever.) They each have their own bathrooms, with five toilets and five showers in each one. The school says they try to be as un-modern as possible, but if it is extremely inconvenient they may make an exception - such as indoor plumbing. Instead of sinks they each have fountains to wash their hands in.
Due to how large the place is, they have many rooms. There's the eating hall, where announcements and meals are held, the library, which is enormous, and doubles as a study hall, and there is a large ball room for parties and dances. They also of course have a kitchen, a large office for the head mistress, a locked off basement, large rooms for all the club meetings to be held, and class rooms, as well as a few teacher's lounges.
RP RULES: (Necessary)
This will be different than most magic schools, with more restrictions.
*No demons, angels, gods, part animal part humans, or elves. This is in modern time with humans and some exceptions, but none of the others fit into the setting. You may have vampires, however, and if there is a species you want to use PM me about it.
*No OP powers such as time travel, insta-kills, unconditional mind control, etc etc. All powers must be approved by me.
*No Mary Sues, undeveloped characters, unfair play, and you know, the basics of Rp etiquette.
*This is a long term RP, only join if you will stick with it and be active, please.
*Keep your characters within the age range of 13 - 18. Immortals that are 1,325, 432, 3543,676,900,223 years old wouldn't suddenly decide to go to school.
*Do not reveal "hidden" powers in the middle of the RP - you can only have the powers you have, no secret ones I don't know about. (As this could and probably would lead to OP characters and sudden solutions that shouldn't exist.)
The School's rules: (Necessary)
*Uniforms: (Black robes and white shirts with grey pants for the males, the ladies get the same but with a grey skirt and leggings.) You must wear your uniform, but you may pack clothing for special events such as dances, parties, and such. Bring swimsuits. You may not alter the uniform in anyway.
*You may not bring weaponry, pets, or electronic devices with you. If you really want to bring a pet, it must stay in the animal club and you must be a member to visit him and agree to let others pet and use him with their work - it will not break animal cruelty laws.
*You may not attack anyone, with your powers or without, and if you do will face serious consequences.
*Obey the curfew: Be in bed by 9:30 p.m., and out of bed by 8:00 a.m.
*Breakfast is at 7:30 and ends at 8:30 a.m. Lunch is 12:30 and ends at 1:30, dinner is at 6:30 and ends at 8:00.
*Free time - show up at classes, and spend your free time how you wish as long as it is within school grounds and other rules.

Classes: Math, history, science, literature. Power based classes: Defense. logic, control, and social understanding. Optional classes are: Art, drama, special powers (focused on certain power development that is uncommon.)
Clubs: Immortals, Night Owls, Cooking club, gardening club, track, Mermaids, and Animals.
Trips: Monthly trips to either the beach, valley hiking, or village.

*Additional note* - Jas suffers from Pyrophobia, which induces anxiety when in close proximity to fire.
