Will had prepared for another day of hell as he tied the apron around his waist. He was fairly new to the job and had caught on to the basics fairly quickly, but he still couldn't get used to the fact that he wasn't allowed to straight up take the pastries and eat them whenever he pleased.
This lead to him sneaking the warm sweets out of the display case when he thinks no one is looking and shoving the entire thing into his mouth. Right now, he was in the process of doing that.

As it is a habit for them, they arrived early. This kind of work was not new to them as they, in all the time of their existence have taken plenty odd jobs on the side while waiting for theater roles or working on a "little" project of theirs. The low-wage jobs were perfectly sufficient as they weren't a creature that required food, nor were they the kind of person to spend a lot in general. So long as it paid the bills they were fine.
Besides, one employee that also worked this shift was particularly interesting. As he put on his apron they greeted him, already preparing for the work day to start.

He quickly threw the pastry he was stealing back, glancing up at them.
"H-hello!" he stuttered out, hoping they didn't notice his obvious little blunder. Then, as he realized who he was greeting, he almost immediately put on his flirtatious persona.
"Oh, hey there, Mr. D, you're looking elegant as usual," he said, not minding the eye bags or dead aura surrounding them.

At this point being very much used to this peculiar human's mannerisms they weren't remotely surprised. "I believe calling me elegant would be an overstatement, but if you so desire, you can call me that I suppose." They said without a smile, but the rest of their face suggested that they would have one if they could. Despite his silliness, they valued this human being greatly, one might say loved him even, as much as this word could be applied to them at all that is.

"Actually, I think it would be more of an understatement. You're just too modest." He replied, his expression warm and relaxed. He took a look at his phone to check the time, seeing how much time was left for him to work despite just starting his shift.
He looked back up at Dragon, saying, "Well, seems like we'll be stuck here for a while. I'm so glad we have each other here, to lift the other up during these hard times!" he dramatically leaned against Dragon, putting the back of his hand against his forehead to emphasize. "Oh, my love, please lessen my suffering by making drinks with me instead of being at the register this time!"

"Sure, if that's the arrangement you consider optimal." They found this particular human highly amusing, but his sheer inability to put effort into things even more so. It was actually kind of adorable, though, troublesome at times. They looked at the irresponsible man with a playful sort of mild annoyance reflecting in their eyes. Today is going to be a long day, but at the very least it's going to be entertaining thanks to his presence.

Will responds by giving his most innocent smile and dragging Dragon behind the counter. He waits around, as the place is currently pretty empty, with only a few people sitting at tables here and there. He sighed, still clutching Dragon's arm and leaning on them once more.
"I'm tired.." He said, though mostly to himself.

The older female stepped her slender feet into the interior of the coffee shop. She liked the atmosphere--it wasn't exaggerating but rather simple and peaceful. Making her way to an available table, thus pulling the chair before sitting herself down. Placing her small handbag upon the table. She had a long, brown hair which is rather wavy. Gorgeous brown big eyes, Soft, thin lips. Youthful skin with a great complexion. What's more she got rather motherly, hourglass figure. Her clothing wasn't all that fancy. She had a blue sweater shirt. Tight blue jeans. Black heels.

Will noticed the woman come in and sit down, and sighed. Well, he did have to work during his shift, after all.
So, he grabbed a menu, gave a quick “I’ll be back” to Dragon, and made his way over to her.
“Hello,” He said, handing her the menu. “I’ll be back in a few minutes to take your order.” And with that, he started on his way back to the counter.

The doors burst open soon after the woman entered. A man steps in wearing a suit with plaid gray pants and matching jacket. His shirt is a dark, pale gray. His tie was a mustard gold which matched part of the plaid pattern of his suit. He must have worked in the commercial district somewhere down the highway.

Reddish-Tan suede shoes were whisper quiet as he quickly stepped up to the counter. He smiled warmly as he approached. "White chocolate mocha, please. Say... What do you guys have for pastries here?" He looked towards the menu's various types. Unable to fight his distraction any longer, he turned to study the woman sitting.

After making eye contact with her, he nodded curtly. His lips slowly twisted up into a warm smile.

“Well, there’s a decent variety of stuff, cookies, cupcakes and muffins, but I might recommend the cinnamon rolls. They’re completely coated with icing.” He tapped keys on the cash register, glancing up and noting where he was looking.
“Also, I assume you know she’s not on the menu?” He said, half jokingly. “Heheh. But really, if you do strike up a conversation with her, maybe you should get her a drink or something?”

The businessman chuckled a snort of a laugh. "Actually, now that you mention it. She's watching. So give me your lightest, healthiest pastry. Can't be too messy either." He turned to look at her once more. He'd seen her step inside the shop while he approached from down the block.

"I don't want to skip her. Too late, huh? Well put her bill on my tab." He turned back to face the counter. "Thanks pal. What's your name again?" He offered his hand to the barista looking to shake.

“It’s Will,” He said, shaking his hand. “Also, ‘healthiest’ pastry? Do you even know what the point of a pastry is?” He raised an eyebrow in a playfully judgemental look.

His next laugh escaped nervously. "Look, Will", he said shaking his hand. He leaned in and brought his voice close to a whisper. "Just bring me something that won't make me look like a pig."

Leaning closer, he spoke in a guarded whisper. One hand moved to cover his mouth. "I'll come back for a cinnamon roll once she leaves." Laughing again, he shifted on his feet.

Will snorted. “Alright, then. I’ll get you something boring and healthy.”
He went and got a simple blueberry muffin, putting it in a small paper bag and going back to the register to complete the order.
“Your total is six dollars.” He said as he placed the bag onto the counter.

They were about done with the daily maintenance of the cooking appliances and getting the supplies in place. "What's taking you so long, love? Did you get distracted again?" The androgynous individual asked Will since they had a rightful suspicion that he's been chatting instead of getting work done. After all, they wouldn't want him to be fired, they know he would get really upset, and upset humans were always confusing to them.

As he felt his cheeks warm up when they called him “love,” he decided to distract from that by gesturing to the man in front of him.
“Mr. Healthy here wants to impress a lady.” He said simply.

"Sure thing", he said using his card at the machine. It soon beeped with the completed transaction. He threw a 5 dollar bill in the tip cup before closing his wallet. "Oh, and I'll come back to pay the lady's bill."

He took the bag and waited for his white chocolate mocha. Ed moved down the line so the next person could order.

They quietly nodded and started making "Mr. Healthy"'s not so healthy drink. The man's style of romantic advances could be considered a bit... much, but they didn't say anything since they were obligated to be polite to the customers. They'll keep an eye on him in case he makes the woman uncomfortable of course. After all, losing a customer might affect the paycheck in the long run and that could be mildly inconvenient.

Will decided to watch Dragon prepare the drink, then looked over at Edgar curiously to see what he was up to. He wondered if he would approach the lady, and if it would go well or not.
